This was my favorite track on the 'Animals' album. Now......some 45 years later, I go back & forth between 'Sheep' & 'Dogs'. The album was released in 1977......and STILL sounds ahead of its time.

Homes, I was in the audience 1977 tour of the ANIMALS album, New York City , Philadelphia, Washington, DC.. That was the last time the album was ever played live. They despised playing it

Hello , how are you , I saw Pink Floyd doing this concert , Pigs 3 diff ones is my fave song , saw them in Chicago at Soldiers Field babe , so awesome , they had a few giant pig balloons , kept going back & forth above the Field & at end of concert , the pigs blew up & the whole sky turned Pink when we were leaving , badass , I wish you were there ✌🏽✌🏽
I still remember when this album came out. Dropped a needle on it and I was stunned. To this day one of my favorites. I listen to it several times a year as well as Wish You Were Here, front to back.

Most people don't notice. They hear the return of 'stone stone stone' but not the dog whistle -- BECAUSE SHEEP AREN'T SUPPOSED TO HEAR THE DOG WHISTLE. Get it? Genius. PURE Genius. Of course, there are the bookends on the album you might not have played - Pigs On The Wing. Part 1 before dogs & Part II after Sheep. They totally contrast with the 3 major songs.

The guitar in a section of this song reminds me of Optimistic Voices, from the Wizard of Oz. "You're out of the dark, You're out of the night, Step into the light". That's funny too, because you can play Dark Side of the Moon with the movie, and it is pretty synced up.
