There has been a recent trend on TikTok of girls who wear revealing outfits to the gym complaining about being looked at and sexualized by men at the gym. But if you sexualize yourself, can you really complain when you’re being sexualized? Let’s get into it.

it's fine, sooner or later the world will be so full of these types of people who flaunt themselves that it will become undesirable (it may already be happening). The diamond in the rough so to speak will be those people that pride themselves in being humble, charming, funny and look beyond just beauty.

I don't think she does understand just how absurd it is. I'm not sure anyone does -- except me. I'm the only one who understands that these women don't just need to think about how their own behavior necessarily invites and encourages the exact attention they claim not to want -- frankly, whether these women learn _anything_ isn't _anyone's_ problem. They're your kids or mine. They're not our friends. They're assholes. They dress like assholes and then they turn around and complain like assholes.
Amala says men who "sexualize" women are perverts who need to be taken to task. But these women are perverts, too: they can't stop showing their private parts in public! So the reason I say neither Amala nor anyone else gets it is because neither she nor anyone else is ridiculing, shaming, ostracizing, condemning -- all the social things we do to shut down unacceptable behavior -- these women for disrespecting everybody with their clothing only to turn around and act like _they_ are the victims (and worse, publicly humiliate innocent men, thinking of the recent example that surprisingly backfired on the girl).

Years ago, I went out with a group of people I knew. One girl, very attractive, in her twenties, was wearing a see-through shirt, her well filled out bra clearly revealed. She got lots of looks as we walked down the city streets. Later, while we were eating lunch, she complained about the attention she'd been getting. I argued with her that what could she expect when what she was wearing literally said, "look at me." She basically said she didn't mind when attractive men looked at her, but the unattractive or much older men shouldn't look. I pointed out the absurdity of her reasoning. My guess is a lot of these women in the gym think the same way.

What clothing makes us feel nice is determined by the associations we have with garments and those in turn are largely determined by how our environment (whether that's our physical social environment or the circles we move in online) views those garments. Our views are *always* heavily influenced by the reality we live in, so doing things for ourselves means doing them for others by proxy. We do not exist in a void and we cannot perceive ourselves in a void.

It's absolutely unnecessary. Working as a lifting coach I've actively had to tell some of the young women that were coming to train with us that they needed to wear better suited clothing for the type of training we were doing and because it was a pointless distraction, everyone coming was there to seriously train. They tried to say it was the only way they could keep cool but I called bs on that because we had 250lb+ muscle monster dudes all roided out who were training with full pants and a basic tshirt and sometimes a full on hoodie until they were fully warmed up.
The absolute worse clothing for this is those "boy shorts" where the boy of the ass cheeks hang out. Not only because of the amount of skin but because they're literally dragging their sweaty ass across the equipment other people are using. It was great hearing this from a woman's persepctive! I'm a 45 year old retired veteran...so I'm naturally very observant. I am constatly aware of my environment and women like these are why I have completely STOPPED going to any gym. I invested in equipment and weights and converted my garage into a gym at the expense of now having to work on my own vehicles outside. One incident that led me to this decision was when I thought I had found a lost iPhone by a bench. I took it to the front desk. When I got back to my workout, I was interrupted by a very upset and very scantilly dressed young lady. "Have you seen my f*ing phone? Someone stole my f*ing phone!" I asked her where she had left it and if she could describe the case it was in and she confirmed it was the one I turned in to the front desk. I told her what I had done and apologized saying I didn't want anyone to lose such an expensive phone. She thundered away to retrieve it and came back yelling, crying and accusing me of "trying to see her videos and pics of herself she had taken" before I turned it in. It turned out she was trying to record herself doing squats but realized the weights on the bar were too heavy for her and she went in search of smaller plates. She embarassed me and never stopped yelling long enough for me to get a word in edge wise. Another incident was when a half-naked young lady on the abductor machine stopped mid-workout and cursed me for "ruining her shot." I had no idea what she was talking about until she pointed out her phone mounted to a machine opposite side of the walkway aimed at her. Let me reiterate, opposite side of the walkway aimed at her. She screamed that "I have to do this set all over again thanks to you" and how I was "wasting her shoot time." She also accused me of "looking down her top" which was one inch of material away from being a bra anyways, to say nothing of the fact that I'm 5'11" and she was about 5'! I had to look down to see her anyways when she stood close to me yelling and pointing her finger. Again, this young lady didn't pause long enough for me to reply. I could go on about being accused of "ruining someones shot" because of coughing and banging weights too loudly but you get the idea. I decided enough was enough after trying every gym in my area (3 by the way) and having some kind of history repeating itself. I had no intention of winding up on anyone's post as a "combative woman hater" so I didn't argue or give into their confrontational nature...especially nowadays when everyone seems to record and post everything once voices are raised in public. My biggest fear was always if cops had been called and our names were requested, I would instantly be believed to be the bad guy since police don't see your military record, only your criminal one. So now, I work out at home. Thank you for putting this video out. You said what I have been thinking for quite some time. I enjoy your channel...keep up the great work.

Late last year, a member of our family, 28 and extremely fit and attractive, came by to visit my wife and I, and came straight from the gym. She said it all. When asked how her day was going she stated that she was bit disappointed with herself because she was 'becoming one of those whiny hypocrites crying on TikTok'.
When asked what happened, she said that while working out, a male member of the gym walked by, smiled and gave her a nod, then continued on his way. She reacted by shaking her head in annoyance and as she was realizing internally how she just reacted, and was wondering why she reacted that way, she observed that he was standing next to her. He had observed the head shake and returned to tell her that if she and everyone else in the gym take offense every time someone simply offers a friendly acknowledgement of another human being's existence, it's going to become an even colder, lonelier world than it's become already. She agreed with him, saying she had no idea why she reacted that way, then told him to enjoy his workout because she didn't know what else to say.
I suggested that she needed to post exactly what she told us. She relied hell no...so the Internet cancel culture army can go ballistic on her? No way. She said it all.

As a white male in my 30s I feel like public enemy number one, you feel afraid to do anything, my friends daughter always asks to hug me, I politely decline, not because im anti social but because we are slowly being conditioned to feel like predators even those of us who arent. And seeing the heartbreak on her face each time kills me, Seeing a child alone without a parent is the worst because every fibre of you wants to go ask whats wrong, espescially if theyre crying and clearly in distress, and ask where their mummy is and if they need help but youre terrified to because some Karen might come along and totally misread the situation. And 2 hours later, you're cancelled and your life is ruined. Hell you cant even say mummy these days its 'birthing person', This toxicity towards men is getting dangerous, what if that child was genuinely lost? And everyone walking by is to afraid to help. Think of the absurdity of a world we are creating where men are 'Too Afraid to Help' Keep the reality checks coming, we dont need them but everyone else does

I don’t care about that. Looks aren’t anything. Especially because I know what actually being creeped on is! It’s when they’re next to you talking about your body loud enough for you to hear, it’s when they try to tell you to get off the treadmill / not to run because it’ll make the butt they like smaller, it’s when they touch you when you’re on a machine.

Wow. In all the commentary, one finally showed up. I kind of like it when I write a comment in which no-one really reacts much, directly to me, but it gets arguments started by other readers. Something freaky funny in that.
You speak truth I've heard many times in my life. Interesting too, that far many more women have something to say about this, than men. I know a lot of men don't talk much about being castigated by female advertisers who don't appreciate the consumer interest. For whatever reasons they have, all of them valid enough to be respected and then walked away from. Yes, life is too short.
      As to the one rebuttal:
It's as if what is really being said is that you don't get to "advertise" a free-thinking critical brain. One that obviously goes far beyond the victim card. Curiously, it appears that actually knowing and understanding yourself (as a 'self', mind you) has somehow become taboo. As if the hive-think is now become the fresh thing. Only trouble is, we're not bees. Or hornets. Or wasps. Or even cute and cuddly bumblebees. Thank heaven for that.
What we are requires the brainwork, the honesty, the analysis, the examination, the free thought and speech and expression that brings the gift of socially significant success that some people enjoy in life and many of the rest often envy. As if the key to that success exists only for the exalted few.
Life was just never set up to be quite that exceptional.
Which is perhaps one of the greatest lessons of all.

So, I was doing everything I could NOT to take advantage of the "views." After a while, my wife came to where we were so she could find out if I was finished, or what I had planned next. I’m a woman and I hate seeing other women doing the wedgie thing.. sometimes I can’t help but look in shock, and you can literally see their butt cheeks spread as they lean forward to pick up a dumbbell… something that you should only see behind closed doors!! I don’t need to see in between someone’s crevices just because they need the attention from others to feel validated 🤦🏽‍♀️

Thank you! I keep saying I'm tired of seeing inside random people's ass cheeks!

Same. Even as a girl I feel uncomfortable when girls wear tops that show their whole chest. Like how? Can only imagine how dudes feel

Not long ago I went to the gym with my gym buddy (my female friend) and I made a comment to her about how there was a women at the gym wearing the most revealing sports bra I have ever seen. Usually the excuse is that it helps them make sure they're working out the right muscles by visual muscle contraction. BUT this women was doing legs...so, not really necessary to be wearing basically a bra to the gym. She knew what she was doing. Also like 90% of men wear normal workout clothes to the gym yet like 90% of women wear the most revealing clothes to the gym by choice. That's like a guy having a loud sports car and then getting mad when people look when he drives by.

      Most women don't dress modestly.
      Proms, parties, dinner, wedding...
The man wear a suit, a long-sleeved shirt while the girl wears a gown that shows her chest/breasts, shows her legs, her arms, etc...

It's not even comfortable for working out to wear the most revealing sports bra. It would have to be constantly adjusted.

You are spot on!! Thank you for making this video. We have forgotten that just because you candoes not mean you should. As women we should be doing everything we can to protect ourselves. Thank you.
