Gerry Rafferty used to be in a band called "Stealers Wheel" in the 1970s. They had one hit, "Stuck in the Middle With You". He had to sue the others for unpaid royalties when they broke up. The song is about a friend of his that he used to stay with on Baker Street in London during the law suit.
