The pros and cons of public transport in Dublin Ireland mentioned in your video provided me an better insight into choosing the right transport medium for specific destinations/locations. it is unbelievable how beautiful Ireland is, Thankyou Deepti.😃
@@DeeptiKulkarni_I really like the content, showcasing some really beautiful parts of Dublin, where I used to live for 3 years before I moved to Manchester U.K. in 2002 - I try to come home to Ireland as often as I can to visit my family and in recent years, the DART in particular has massively improved - my last visit home to Ireland was in October 2022 and I’m hoping to come home again very soon
Absolutely a must see video for those who visit/plan to visit Dublin. Also the video highlights the City of Dublin which is so clean and its transport system so well maintained.Upon having seen this video,I felt I must visit this very beautiful city.
This is a great video to show the transport in Dublin! I’m from Dublin, and I’m so tired of all the negativity toward the transport. It’s not perfect but it’s getting better! Thank you for showing it in such a well put together video ❤
I'm Irish too although I don't live in Dublin and I totally enjoyed your great video. Very well presented and very clear description of everything. Well done 👍
2:26 one thing that I love when coming home to Ireland from the U.K. is that Irish place names are also given in my native Irish Gaelic language - I’d love to be able to speak Irish more fluently and this is a really nice touch - they also do this in Wales with Welsh place names and I really like this idea ❤
Some of them also now run from Grand Canal Dock to Hazelhatch through a tunnel under the Phoenix Pk. Electrification of these lines will start in the next year.
1:49 my extended family live in Dunshaughlin Co Meath and currently, Bus Éireann/Transport for Ireland operate direct coach services from Dublin Busaras Coach station to Navan, Kells and Cavan - it is hoped that the Irish government will extend the current M3 Parkway Line from Dublin Docklands via Dunshaughlin to Navan, which will be a huge advantage for me when I come home to family on visits from the U.K. - I also am most impressed with the DART services compared to most U.K. trains and the Manchester Metrolink Trams and I use the DART when visiting friends near Sandymount - I can always find someone to drive me from Dunshaughlin to M3 Parkway, get a train to Dublin Connolly and catch the DART to Sandymount
Hi Deepti! Great video! Planning my next trip to Ireland!! To spend only half a day in the city, what's better? Leap Card or single Tickets? And can you tell me the best way to go to Phoenix Park from city center using public transportation? Thanks!!
From the city center you can take the Luas from abbey street (Red line) and get down at hueston station. Use google maps for frequent and timing information.
Being Irish myself and living 22 years in Manchester UK, I still have extended family in the same village in my home county in Rural Ireland where I grew up - re Dublin and the LUAS trams, it is a great pity that these are not extended to the Irish Ferries and Stena Terminals via the Dublin Docklands rail station, as I come home as often as I can on SailRail via Holyhead - I’d love to see water taxis going further along the Liffey from the Port as far as Capel St Bridge or smaller foot passenger only ferries docking at the Custom House arriving from Holyhead or Liverpool, as a viable alternative to flying and air travel
Hi It's vivek soni From New Delhi I have a plan to visit Dublin in June 15 to 17 What are the main attraction to visit in Dublin, Eat Veg food & soft drink only
You’re coming at a perfect time. Visit st Stephens green garden, Phoenix park, dublin zoo, dun laoghaire, bray I love all of these places. You will get plenty of veg options but mostly in the form of sandwiches/wraps/burritos unless it’s Indian. There are quite a good number of Indian restaurants too. There are couple of Indian stores that you will easy find in case you want to cook. Have a great time in dublin and don’t forget to buy leap card .
You cannot make contactless payment using credit or debit card in bus, luas or dart but you can buy tickets for luas or dart using credit or debit card from the ticket machine before getting into them. For bus you can only use coins to buy tickets. Unfortunately you cannot use credit or debit card to buy tickets for bus.
I am arriving in Dublin on the 18th of October. My wife and I would love to learn more about transportation, especially if one may purchase a single ticket (plastic card) and use it for all modes of transportation.
Hello, I would like to know the public transport in Ireland, it's too great, they aren't so crowded than São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, it's too comfortable.
Hi, this August my Wife, Daughter & myself will be visiting Dublin for the 1st time ever from Canada. This video was very informative. How do we use the Leap card when getting on and off all 3 forms of transport? Where can we purchase the Leap card? Any suggestions for eating out on a budget? besides pubs and restaurants are there any other food franchises that you can suggest? is there any transportation Apps we can download before arriving for taxis and ride sharing? Thanks
Hi it’s great to hear that your visiting Ireland. To know how to pay for all three modes of public transport I have made a dedicated video as it’s been seen then told. @@DeeptiKulkarni_ Correction Deepti: There are no border checks, immigration, or customs between north and south Ireland. Once you are on the island, you can travel to any city unhindered. There are also no checks if you get the ferry from Belfast to Scotland, but you will need to use an Irish address when booking the ferry online.
@@cliddily May be there are no checks but i don’t go by that but more go by the law. It’s not legal for Indian passport holders to across borders without a valid visa from UK. If your caught it could be a Serious offence so better not take risks always go by the law.
Public transportation in Dublin is appalling. Try going from the Liberties to let's say, Cabra, it's faster on foot. Two tram lines for the city of more than a million, you gotta be kidding me. No Wonder everyone is using cars.😢 As is the case with everything else, unfortunately, Ireland seems to be stuck in the 1970ies, compared to any other West European country.
Thanks for sharing your experience. I personally haven’t had a very bad experience so far using Ireland’s public transport. It’s slow and full at times but that’s the story of the entire world. It ain’t perfect no where :)
This is better than any video Transport for Ireland could produce!
Thank you for your words encouragement. Means a million!

Brilliantly well put together and presented. A lot of thought and work went into the editing. There are also the Arrow trains not mentioned.
