  • Let's talk about a Broken Twill Threading, shall we? In this episode of A Handwoven Experience, I'm not only walking you through this special threading, I'm giving you a glimpse into my visual approach to threading a loom! My hope is that if it helps me keep everything straight, it might just help you, too! Enjoy!

Chris, you have the soul of a Teacher. This was a beautiful visual representation of threading and made things clearer to me.

As usual, Chris, you explain things simply and clearly. Love the colors ou have on the loom!

I have never actually known the terms. Thank you! I have printed out the pattern. The two colors of yarn I don't have (go figure) are coming. I'm nagging Norm with "only 12 days left, only 11 days left!" In case he's not going to meet the date, I am weaving like mad on another loom to get that one empty in time.

Why do you have to skip #3 on the way back down?

Hi! That skip is what makes it a broken twill threading. If you connect everything, it's a point twill threading. It's just 2 different styles!
