I Tried to Catch Everything | Falcon Lake Bank Fishing

  • Like it says, I went to Falcon Lake and tried my best at catching almost everything there is to catch. It was my first time at this particular place called El Tigre bank fishing. I had no luck with the Largemouth and Gar but did manage to catch a couple small cats, carp, and even a white bass from the bank. I wanted to explore somewhere new and I really liked the area and showed good potential so I will try and head back and hopefully better prepared to try other things.

    I always had issues at falcon with short strikes on spinners so I put a trailer hook on and it changed the game brother

    How do you keep from not getting caught up on branches and rocks when fishing off the banks at falcon lake. Several years ago....at the boat ramp in the state park...you could catch cats and have fun there all day and not get snagged. Also any ideas for holding chicken liver to the hooks without flying off when casting?

    • @laketogulffishing
      @laketogulffishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The water was pretty low that day so I could see the stumps but a flat weigh helps lift your line when you reel in fast. And just a soft cast for the chicken livers but if you want to bomb cast out prepare the liver by making like a pouch with pantyhose. If you do it right it's like finding with fish bites .

      @@laketogulffishing the flat weights you mean the pancake looking ones? Also yea i think i used a roll of gauze before to hold chicken liver before. The state park i dont think has very good spots. You gotta cast deep out there to get any bites.

      @@HJGJR44 yes those weights they flutter like a spoon.

      @@laketogulffishing what rig do you recommend for catching from the bank.? For what fish will it work and what bait. Thinking of going to falcon lake soon. More than anything to have kids experience fishing. Thanks!

      @@HJGJR44 pretty much anything related to long casting In surf fishing double drop and Carolina rigs. Natural baits and chicken livers will work for catfish. Preparado carp baits and corn worked really well for the carp. If you can catch some livebait you can catch catfish and maybe some bass if you don't want to use lures

      I've caught some randomly before with worms, chiken liver, even some lures but its never something consistent where I can go back and catch more like that I haven't caught one on shrimp but good to know they'll hit that too

    I went to falcon lake after that cold came in and killed all the tilapia didn’t get a single bite

      @laketogulffishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was hoping that with corn some tilapia might bite but i did hear that the cold front killed alot of tilapia in the lake. Still alot of carp and catfish from what we caught that day.

      @@laketogulffishing I don’t really like catching multi species all I go for is bass. Do you know any good spots in the valley? Every time I go down I skunk out! Haven’t caught one single bass in the valley😂

      @laketogulffishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do several videos fishing canals in the valley but where im going i still haven't found a consistent big size just a bunch of small ones. But depending where you live the canals resacas and local ponds have bass just have to work at them till they bite.

      Awsome! Its good to explore what's close to home for when you can't travel far but still want to fish lol. Might not be the same quality as falcon but you can always get pleasantly surprised lol.
