I heard this song back in the 70's as I pulled into my driveway. I listened intently and stayed in my car until the song was over. THIS SONG LED ME TO SEEK THE LORD! Thanks to God and Don Francisco, I committed my life to Jesus that same day!!! Glory!!!
I've been a Christian for over forty years. I heard many messages from the pew for half that time, and preached many from the pulpit for the other half. Brother Don's songs are by far some of the best sermons I've ever heard.
I grew up with Don Francisco and strayed until ab few years ago. I hear so many fake testimonies and i honestly can't stand it (mike warnke is a good example) but don Francisco is amazing.
August 1981--Our newborn was in intensive care. On day 8 they finally let us hold her because they did not think she would live. I taped a cross to her incubator before leaving. The next morning I went to the hosp (across the str from our apt) alone. My wife was afraid to hear the news. When I got there she had color and the nurse said she pushed her self 1/2 ft. She was healed (PTL!) and we took her home two days later. This song has been stuck on repeat in my head ever since.
This is the Greatest Gospel singer since I became a christian, I was at a concert given by Don in 1973 and what a blessing we received. Thank you Jesus!!!!
OK if the previous song didn't touch your Christmas spirit - try this one. Just so you know I was in a hole in the war during 1990 when a friend of mine was killed, a grenade took his life and I had to collect what was left over. A mistake and a training error or training we didn't get - those where the words I heard. Never mind all that - it doesn't change. But this song alone helped me get through the tough and difficult times of my life. I through my life in a turmoil but Jesus always stayed by my side and this song has reminded me why I am here. Thank you
Chris Robinson my son served in Afghanistan during his 8 years as a Marine, having survived 3 IED explosions there's no doubt God was watching over him! I'm so proud he followed my advice and gave his heart to Christ! Having cancer myself, told I was only going to live 6-9 months 19 years ago I'm proud to serve Christ and that my kids, from my oldest who's 35 to my youngest son who's 9 have seen the power of God work in my life!!! Cancer is still there but SO AM I!!!!
Raul Ramirez II Thank you so much for sharing, also your testimony. Yes, if you look around and noone is to be found of friends, family or neighbors, Jesus always is there! Right by your side! Gotta tell somebody!
Oh Lord, I pray that by Your Holy Hand You will release my wife of 41 years from the bondage of alcoholism. In the name of Your Son, my Savior, Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.
Ever since I first heard it in the seventies, this song still chokes me up! Let God's Glory Shine! Praise his name!!! Are you a true believer? He is RISEN this Day!!
Sometimes we never see seeds we plant. Well Don Francisco, back in the late 1978, I put Don's music on my tape player and worn out those tapes. in my work truck all day every day. God got to me thru your music and still does, thank you. Today 3 13 2022 I'm 66. Father God has been great to me then and forever.... Also, I wasted 55years on the guitar ,never mastered it, I had this old 76 key Yamaha in my closet and it fell on my foot . Ouch! Instead of throwing it, I set it up tried playing it and it seems to come so easy. So just learning a new instrument at 66. I believe It was all God. This story is one of my favorites you do..
This is Christian Music, when the absence of less than words in the "new" sound I reach for the 70's, '80's and here is an example to follow. Don Franscisco is one of a kind gospel singer. He sings the Word. Thank you eaglegrace.
Who doesn't love Don Francisco? This guy is a Saint! Jesus is going to have him play, along with King David, for Almighty , Merciful, ALL LOVING , ALMIGHTY GOD THE FATHER!!!
What a tremendous gift Don Francisco has, to write and compose music to tell a great story of our Lord, the giver of life, and sing and play skillfully such a blessed arrangement! Should have many millions of views and likes!
God is so good and worthy of our praise. He will help you too. Just ask Him and patiently wait on Him. Jesus has never failed. Praise the LORD. He helped our little girl who was at death's door but, the Lord caused her to rise from that sick bed and restored her to full vitality. He and lifted my faith beyond the grasp of doubt. He lifted my weary head and now I love Him more because He came through and helped her when we couldn't. He extended great mercy to us and I cannot help but to publicly say, wow, God is really good. He really answers prayers. He really does have pity on His helpless children. May the name of Jesus forever be praised!
"Salvation is a free gift given by God to those who have true faith." If salvation is free, then faith can not buy ot as you claim. Salvation is free, it is grace given unto us, we have a choice to abide in that grace "Abide in me, and I in you."
Cyprian 250 A.D."And we ask that this Bread be given us daily, so that we who are in Christ and daily receive THE EUCHARIST AS THE FOOD OF SALVATION, may not, by falling into some more grievous sin and then in abstaining from communicating, be withheld from the heavenly Bread, and be separated from Christ's Body"
I think in time Don's songs will be viewed as Handel's Messaih now is... inspired directly by God. I think Don Francisco, Keith Green and Handel will all have a special place together in God's kingdom.
I drove my car music on hitch hiker s listened many miles I trusted Don and shared with many his songs were anointed today I revisited Don and his songs are anointed
Ephraim 350 A.D.:"Our Lord Jesus took in His hands what in the beginning was only bread; and He blessed it, and signed it... He called the bread His living Body, and did Himself fill it with Himself and the Spirit..Do not now regard as bread that which I have given you; but take, eat this Bread [of life], and do not scatter the crumbs; for what I have called My Body, that it is indeed. Take, eat, entertaining no doubt of faith, because this is My Body"
JUSTIN Martyr A.D. 150: "For not as common bread nor common drink do we receive these; but since Jesus Christ our Savior was made incarnate by the word of God and had both flesh and blood for our salvation, so too, as we have been taught, the food which has been made into the Eucharist by the Eucharistic prayer set down by Him, AND BY THE CHANGE OF WHICH our blood and flesh is nourished, IS BOTH THE FLESH AND THE BLOOD OF THAT INCARNATED JESUS."(First Apology, 66)
The solemn events surrounding the last couple of days of Christ here on earth portrayed beautifully, with inspiration, depth, joy, grace, and by God's Unconditional Agape Love!
"Now you are saying that we are saved by God's faith....in us?" We are saved by grace(which gives faith and turns the will, but not in such a way that free will is made void, but in such a way as to stregthen the will of man so that it might co-operate with grace). Thus we are saved by grace THROUGH(the co-operation of our will with) faith. Faith is the very first thing the grace of GOD gives us, faith is a fruit(Gal 5:22) and fruits grow with the proper care, and die without it(that is grace)
IGNATIUS A.D. 100: "Take care, then, to use one Eucharist, so that whatever you do, you do according to God: FOR THERE IS ONE FLESH OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, and one cup IN THE UNION OF HIS BLOOD; one ALTAR, as there is one bishop with the presbyter" (Letter to the Philadelphians 4:1)
DON FRANCISCO.... MaryAnne posted a redone song that Don did back in the 70's called He's Alive, a wonderful song. Glad his music is NOT forgotten and people are hearing them still. Here is another wonderful song that he sang in the 70's also. Infact, was on the same album (yes vinyl), I think mine is in the basement.
"He has declared the cup, a part of creation, to be his own blood, from which he causes our blood to flow; and the bread, a part of creation, he has established as his own body, from which he gives increase unto our bodies. When, therefore, the mixed cup [wine and water] and the baked bread receives the Word of God and becomes the Eucharist" ~ Irenaeus
Praise God from Whom all blessings flow! My wive, by the power of the Holy Spirit has been released from Satan's bondage to alcohol! Thank you for your prayers! Pax Christi Rev. Joel Osborne+
Thank you Jesus for Don, your words through him really boosted my faith when I was a baby in Christ and even today he does the same thing by Your Word.
I sang this song as a solo a few years ago (from an accompaniment track). Probably the hardest solo I've ever sung, since there are a heckalot of words to memorize (I didn't have cheat sheet in front of me). Probably the second hardest solo I've sung is another Don Francisco song, "He's Alive". It has 11 four-line verses, plus a closing chorus. I was on stage by myself for most of that song, then I had our choir march in from the back to join me on the closing chorus. It was pretty dramatic.
The "Grace" that God has shown to us is enough to push us to do the work. We overcome by the Blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony. He is in us to will and to do... Thanks for sharing this presentation.
"How good do you believe one must be to earn salvation?" Salvation is by "grace for grace"(John 1:16), by grace further grace is recieved, no one works can save, but GODs works are needed and do save. Faith is a work of GOD, LOVE is a work of GOD, Hope is a work of GOD, all three save.
I can't believe were debating theology on the site where such a beautiful song is being sung. Most Catholics would love the song and not feel any need to attack Don Francisco just because he is not a Catholic.
If you enjoy the way Don tells stories in the form of a song, you should check out Keith Green, especially the Prodigal Son, it's awesome! I cry everytime!
"Submitting to God is good, but does not earn salvation." I never stated that it could earn salvation, but grace without sumittion to it(of course the grace gives you the power to submit, but not is such a way as to remove free will), is really iust grace in wait...its like the unbelievers, grace is there for them, but they must submit to it.
Such a great song! My dad used to sing this to me when i was little! -I also reccomend listening to some of Mark Schultz's-("Walking Her Home" and "She Was Watching" are my favs)
"Submission is the fruit of receiving the gift of eternal life by a loving merciful God." Grace comes first and allows us to submit, and to continue to submit, but we still have a free will, and may turn from GOD and sin. Once this is dun repentance must be made, anyone who sins beloengs to the devil, and one who belongs to GOD can not sin, becaues his seed remains in him....thus confession is very essential, not to mention it is ordered in the bible that we confess our sins to one another.
Athanasius 350 A.D.:"You shall see the Levites bringing loaves and a cup of wine, and placing them on the table. So long as the prayers of supplication and entreaties have not been made, there is only bread and wine. But after the great and wonderful prayers have been completed, then the bread is become the Body, and the wine the Blood, of our Lord Jesus Christ"(Sermon to the Newly Baptized, from Eutyches)
Aphraates 325 A.D. :"After having spoken thus ["This is My body…This is My blood"], the Lord rose up from the place where He had made the Passover and had given His Body as food and His Blood as drink, and He went with His disciples to the place where He was to be arrested.... With His own hands the Lord presented His own Body to be eaten, and before He was crucified He gave His blood as drink" (Treatises 12:6)
Cyril 350 A.D.:"For just as the bread and the wine of the Eucharist before the holy invocation of the adorable Trinity were simple bread and wine, but the invocation having been made, the bread becomes the Body of Christ and the wine the Blood of Christ"(Catechetical Lectures 19 [Mystagogic 1], 7)
"The voice of the harlot is baiting apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers, into supporting an interfaith movement promising unity for all people. May you never forget this admonition. Only those abiding in the doctrine of Christ will get the victory over the Beast and be gathered by the Son of Man!" Paul Bortolazzo
"God saves us because we choose to have faith in His Son's work of redemption" Well more correctly put we are saved by the working of grace, and our acceptance anc co-operation with it. The first work of grace is faith, one who accepts faith is "saved"(temporaly) and "he that endured to the end, he shall be saved(eternaly)." Matthew 21:13...and yes I am Catholic, a convert from the man maid faith of Luther.
Gregory 375 A.D.:"The bread again is at first common bread; but when the mystery sanctifies it, it is called and actually becomes the Body of Christ. So too the mystical oil, so too the wine; if they are things of little worth before the blessing, after their sanctification by the Spirit each of them has its own superior operation." (Sermon on the Day of Lights or On the Baptism of Christ)
Hilary 350 A.D.:"As to the reality of His Flesh and Blood, there is no room left for doubt, because now, both by the declaration of the Lord Himself and by our own faith, it is truly Flesh and it is truly Blood. And These Elements bring it about, when taken and consumed, that we are in Christ and Christ is in us. Is this not true? Let those who deny that Jesus Christ is true God be free to find these things untrue"
It is our choice, not God's, whether we accept His plan of redemption or not. How is it a WORK OF GOD. He may draw us, but we are the one's who must use our free will to make the final decision. Making the decision is an act of faith and it is this faith that saves us. Once we ARE SAVED, God begins a work in us through the Holy Spirit. Catholics that are true Christians agree with this. Just what are you?
"you make the bread into a little idol." Sry it is you who has made an idol, as you believe somthing that is purley symbolic can make you sick and die "Therefore whosoever shall eat this bread, or drink the chalice of the Lord unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and of the blood of the Lord....For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh judgment to himself...Therefore are there many inform and weak among you, and many sleep." (1 Cor 11:27-30)
I heard this song back in the 70's as I pulled into my driveway. I listened intently and stayed in my car until the song was over.

GOD has given this guy a great talent. I love to hear the bible set to music.
How could one person not like this?
I love how Don Fransisco just makes you feel his music. I love this song "Gotta tell Somebody" I really feel it.

Incredible
simply brilliant,,annointed to reach the heart...awesomelove all his word
You have to go deeper...the implication is not just what he did for Jairus, but for you and me. As Christians we all have a tremendous testimony.
Don has a great voice. That and great skill with that guitar. Oh yeah, and great song writing. :)
Such a great song! My dad used to sing this to me when i was little!
-I also reccomend listening to some of Mark Schultz's-("Walking Her Home" and "She Was Watching" are my favs)
Wow.....had one of Don's albums with this and all the rest of his hits years ago. Great stuff.
"Submission is the fruit of receiving the gift of eternal life by a loving merciful God."

Well more correctly put we are saved by the working of grace, and our acceptance anc co-operation with it.
Let those who deny that Jesus Christ is true God be free to find these things untrue"
beautiful song!!
Wow! Very inspiring!
"you make the bread into a little idol."
Sry it is you who has made an idol, as you believe somthing that is purley symbolic can make you sick and die "Therefore whosoever shall eat this bread, or drink the chalice of the Lord unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and of the blood of the Lord....For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh judgment to himself...Therefore are there many inform and weak among you, and many sleep." (1 Cor 11:27-30)
Great song
