I remember a time of great loss and depression in my life. Don Fransciso's song helped so much, it reminded me that we are never alone. God desires to always be with us. A year after the depression passing I had the pleasure of seeing Don at a small concert. After the show I ran up to see him. A friend I was with asked if I went to have a pictture taken with him or get an autograph. I smiled and said I just wanted to thank him for the joy he helped me see. I didn't need a picture.
I listened to this song 35 years ago. I remember putting the record on the turn table, turning off the lights and laying on my living room couch in the dark as a confused 16 year old, not having a clue about how God was going to lead me but KNOWING for a fact that He was holding on to me. It's true. He has never let go, through school marriage, raising three kids etc. He is stronger than this world we see and hear. So I know this to be true. Even though this world is full of pain and hurt and ache, we have a covenant that our everlasting Father made with us. No matter what.

This song has been in my life for 30 years+... My dad used to listen to a live concert recording that had this song included on it, and I have struggled so much to see it and accept the message and find the lessons in the trials life has brought along. I've done it all wrong. My adult children have shut me out and won't talk to me. The love of my life (their mother) filed for divorce 2 years ago. I now live 5 states away from all of them. I have never felt so alone. It was good to hear this again tonight. Hello Jennifer, I’m sorry for your loss. It is a void we have to live with. I lost my father last year I was critical with Covid and suffered 85% lung damage. Doc said I would not make it. My father faith was unshakable, he prophesied saying “ Go your way your son shall live” after which I made a miraculous recovery, I suffered pneumothorax, they want to operate me..but eventually nothing was needed. My father blessed me and In the early hours of Sunday, my father went home to be with the lord. My father hearts desire was to leave this world on a Sunday and his greatest wish was to die alone. He died alone as we were all hospitalized and my father was negative of Covid but the lord took him… I learnt of my father’s loss after a week only. I have never hugged my father, I just wanted to hug him once. But take courage Jennifer, Our Heavenly Father is the father to the fatherless… you will see him in the celestial city when the time comes.. be what your father wanted you to be… love the lord with all your heart… life and death is in the hands of the lord, I was never physically equipped to live but the lord pulled me from the gates of death…. Take courage… praise be unto the name of the lord

I'll never let go of your hand) on a cassette tape a friend dropped in for me while I was too sick for anyone to visit in the early 80s. This guy gets the heart of God more than any musician, and possibly any preacher, I have come across in 40 years following Jesus (and frequently doing it wrong, despite my best efforts). This song still gets me like when I was a kid, when I was teen, now nearing my forties. The Jesus Don sings about has become part my life and he's every bit as faithful and caring as this song says. Rhonda, I used to listen to this song when I first became a believer - 34 years ago (when I was 33 years of age). I'm now 67 and this song STILL has the power to comfort and encourage me as I think about the extraordinary Love that Jesus has for me and how Faithful He has been to me over the years. It's been quite a journey but he has NEVER let go of my hand. We are so blessed to know Him.
I listened to this when I was 35. Needed it then through so many troubles, hurt and pain. I have just listened to it again at 75 and still need it, and it still brings me to tears. Every time. Even though I have got it wrong so many times, my love for God has never waned and he has always been there for me. As soon as I heard the first word, the tears came as they did when I last heard this decades ago. My foster mom would play his album, and this song cut me to the quick. I think it's what held me to the Lord when I would have drifted, thinking I'd failed Him. I was prone to do that with humans and didn't really have a concept of messing up or even having an argument and being forgiven and/or the relationship continuing. On a lighter note, when I was young, I thought Don was his title and his first name was Francisco, like Don Quixote
I've done everything wrong in my life, I have a beautiful son. God teaches me every day how to be a parent and i look at my son and he shows me I'm doing a good job.
I had the honor of see Don Francisco when i was about 10 in what was then Rhodesia. He was awesome then and is still awesome. He is a great witness for the Lord!

Don Francisco's live album carried us thru some tough times. His songs are the modern version of a hymnal. Not just a line or two repeated over and over like most modern christian songs. Meaning in every line. Impactful, important words. Meaning that touches real people. Sang his songs to go to sleep many a time.

I found Don Francisco on the internet, a while back, when I was hungry for songs of Jesus and music without all the noise that a full band makes and somebody screaming lyrics at the top of their voice. My sister would give me names of different gospel singers out there, I did enjoy their words, but the loud music ruined it for me. Then it happened, I found Don. Some of the music he sings he has wrote himself. Most of his song are sung with only a single guitar which he plays himself. If you are hungry for God's love in a very simple way then Don Francisco could be your answer. He is a true servant to the Lord. You can hear it is the way he sings his songs. He is no Elvis Presley, but he sings God's praises with all of his heart. He can take a single Bible verse and turn it into a beautiful song. Then he turns the song into a sermon. My favorite he did write himself it is called "I'll never let go of your hand". Give yourself a treat and take a listen to him, you can find him on TH-cam. I heard him sing in Johannesburg in the 1980s. It warms my heart for many reasons to hear this song again. I need to hear the words too as life and failures can make one feel that you are lost and that God has turned His back on you. But these words are so reassuring. He can never let go of your hand. I went through a long period of difficult times. I had my family and I had God, but it was still difficult. Many days it took listening to this song 2 or 3 times to get me out of bed and facing the world. It wasn't Don but God that saw me through the dark times.. But this song, the love of my family, A book called "The Red Sea Rules" illuminated the presence of God. I didn't have a father from the time I was three. Then, in a very bad time in my life I heard this song. I cried. I have a Father. He loves me.
I would not be here if our Father was not my loving guardian. I spent time in the second worse place in the world to be and survived.

That's the line that was going through my head this morning, the one I looked up. God is Good!
I can remember crying the first time I heard that line (even if you do it wrong... I'll never let go of your hand) on a cassette tape a friend dropped in for me while I was too sick for anyone to visit in the early 80s. This guy gets the heart of God more than any musician, and possibly any preacher, I have come across in 40 years following Jesus (and frequently doing it wrong, despite my best efforts). If you want to know what sort of person God is, read the life of Jesus in the Gospels or listen to Don Francisco's music.
This song still gets me like when I was a kid, when I was teen, now nearing my forties. The Jesus Don sings about has become part my life and he's every bit as faithful and caring as this song says.
When I say the song gets me, I mean tears streaming, so aware of His faithful love.

Rhonda, I used to listen to this song when I first became a believer - 34 years ago (when I was 33 years of age). I'm now 67 and this song STILL has the power to comfort and encourage me as I think about the extraordinary Love that Jesus has for me and how Faithful He has been to me over the years. I listened to this when I was 35. Needed it then through so many troubles, hurt and pain. I have just listened to it again at 75 and still need it, and it still brings me to tears. Every time. Even though I have got it wrong so many times, my love for God has never waned and he has always been there for me. My heart has lost the will to stand, but praise God, he never changes and never goes back on His word. He has promised to never leave me and I will believe him.

As soon as I heard the first word, the tears came as they did when I last heard this decades ago. My foster mom would play his album, and this song cut me to the quick. I think it's what held me to the Lord when I would have drifted, thinking I'd failed Him. I was prone to do that with humans and didn't really have a concept of messing up or even having an argument and being forgiven and/or the relationship continuing.
On a lighter note, when I was young, I thought Don was his title and his first name was Francisco, like Don Quixote

I have loved Don Francisco’s music since the early 80’s when I was saved. I have copied a number of his songs since in my music ministry.
I found Don Francisco on the internet, a while back, when I was hungry for songs of Jesus and music without all the noise that a full band makes and somebody screaming lyrics at the top of their voice. My sister would give me names of different gospel singers out there, I did enjoy their words, but the loud music ruined it for me. Then it happened, I found Don. Some of the music he sings he has wrote himself. Most of his song are sung with only a single guitar which he plays himself. If you are hungry for God's love in a very simple way then Don Francisco could be your answer. He is a true servant to the Lord. You can hear it is the way he sings his songs. He is no Elvis Presley, but he sings God's praises with all of his heart. He can take a single Bible verse and turn it into a beautiful song. Then he turns the song into a sermon. My favorite he did write himself it is called "I'll never let go of your hand". Give yourself a treat and take a listen to him, you can find him on TH-cam. I went through a long period of difficult times. I had my family and I had God, but it was still difficult. Many days it took listening to this song 2 or 3 times to get me out of bed and facing the world.
