I rememer having a terrible flu when I was 8 or 9. I had high fever and had to lay in bed. That was the only time my parents allowed me to play long enough to pass the whole game. Priceless memories :)
My first issue of Nintendo Power back in 1990 (the one with Jack Nicholson's Joker on the cover) contained maps and a walk-through of this game. After reading about it, I went and rented it and loved it. Oh, the memories! Edit: Got the year wrong.
Why are retro games theme songs more addictive than crack cocaine ? all these years gone by clean........2 minutes in and i'm hooked all over again, damn you cubex55
Yes, I know we all know we got a Ducktales game in recent years, but that was a re-master of this game and still tied with the original 1987 version of Ducktales. Disney should try to find it in their hearts to re-license Ducktales to Capcom and make a 2017 reboot tie-in. That way, we’d be able to play as Della! 8)
Although Capcom had previously worked with Disney by publishing the Hudson-produced Mickey Mousecapade in North America in 1988, DuckTales became the first licensed game that the company developed, and shared many key personnel with the original Mega Man series including producer Tokuro Fujiwara, character designer Keiji Inafune, and sound programmer Yoshihiro Sakaguchi. Revisions to the game included the removal of crosses from the coffins in the Transylvania stage, replacing them with the letters "RIP", replacing hamburgers as power-ups with ice cream, and the omission of an option for Scrooge to give his money up, an action deemed too "un-Scrooge-like." A leaked prototype cartridge from a private collector reveals several differences between the original, unfinished version and the final release, such as different level names, unused music for the Transylvania stage, slower tempo on the music for the Moon stage, unused or altered text, and the character Gizmoduck going by his Japanese name "RoboDuck". Despite the changes, images of the unfinished beta version could be seen in the 1990 books Consumer Guide: Hot Tips for the Coolest Nintendo Games and the NES Game Atlas by Nintendo. DuckTales was later ported to the Game Boy in late 1990. This version features the same gameplay, music and levels of the original console release, though the layout of each level was changed to accommodate the handheld's lower resolution screen.
Well, first of all you automatically lose a life, then Scrooge says something along the lines of "Curse me kilts! Glomgold has the treasures. I must fight Dracula duck again." Then you have to fight the final boss again. If you're down to your last life and lose the race, you get a Game Over.
forgot how short some of these games used to be. still played them over and over :). right at the end I'm going "don't worry kids, he practically never spends any of his money anyway and it will be yours when the old guy chokes on a bagle or something"
The Disney Afternoon collection for PS4 and Xbox One as a downloadable game. 1. Duck Tales 1 and 2 2. Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers 1 and 2 3. Dark Wing Duck 4. Tales Spin
That's assuming that it's going to be a 1:1 remake, which it probably isn't. Since Capcom turned Resident Evil into an action series, they'll probably turn this into a horror survival. Seriously though, I hope the remake does well enough (and is good) that they decided to remake the Rescue Rangers and Darkwing Duck games too.
Fab longplay! But in the Amazon and in the African mines, you missed hitting the coal trucks and the tree stumps for more diamonds. Just a thought - either way, lovely memories!!!
i beat it a few times now that i think about it but i always still played it, it was one of those games though it was beat able you still always found yourself playing it again...
everyones favourite mega rich duck going round third world countrys (and the fuckin moon of all things) and taking their national treasures for himself. God I love the 80s.
I might be wrong, but I think it's kind of an obscure game, its' a great one though! Love it to death, the controls are tight, the level design is excellent, the difficulty is excellent and GOD DAT MUSIC
The bad thing about this game is its excessively short duration (when you pass it once and know the shortcuts you can pass it in just over 5 minutes). In the remake they solve this by forcing the player to explore the entire level to obtain items that allow them to advance (something that should have been done in the original).
I never heard of this game at the time but I heard of the remastered version and I got it on PS3, after beating it I looked up the original and it lead me to this video, I must say the remastered version has much more to offer but it's always nice to look back at old games. P.S. I'm not a new gamer, I had an NES back in the day I just never heard of this game till the remake.

Where you from?
He totally killed that first level. I never knew about half the secret places. Good job!
The music for this game was awesome.
It still is!
@@ImaginalComponent and somehow the remastered one is even better
Especially the The Moon music!
The animations on the sprites, the music and the level designs are all amazing.
I'm so glad they've remastered this game. They picked up an already amazing game and turned it into something even better!
Memories 6:50 best track in the 🎮 game man. I hope i receive more e-mails😁please.
It's a crime against gaming humanity that this game is not included in the NES-mini version.
Well yes, but it won't be on the retro-designed NES console with the retro-designed NES pad.
kostasxrysogelos agreed. I have the one with 500 games on it and its not on there either.
It's a licensed game, of course it wouldn't.
get yourself a USB NES adapter.. . that way you can play nes games on ypour pc with a nes controller :P
@@jalliboy I prefer the Famicom controller for its curved edges, making it easier on your palms. But there's no wired version, is there?
8bit sound track winning!
One of the BEST games ever, on ANY system!
This channel has the highest quality playthroughs of ANY channel.
i love the intro music, so many memories!!
Rewatching this gives me a greater appreciation for the remastered version. Each has its place, but it's always nice to see where and how it began.
Jogo que marcou minha infância. Coisa boa demais. Oh saudade da minha infância! 🤗
23 years of playing this game i never knew about 24:48!!! thank you!

Java required. Might as well just download an emulator instead of java. Plus its in the browser. Not always fast.
Its only hard if you dont put it on easy

Followed this video and beat the game just now for the first time ever. Thanks for the help!
Meeting my Inner 8 year old again makes me cry a little. Happy tears.... Thanks for the video !
I love that he let it go through the song at the start - so awesome!
Awwww The Moon music ❤️❤️❤️😭😭😭
Those musics are like Holy Bible for me.

I swear whoever runs this channel is a top secret government AI.
One of my top 10 Favorite nes Video games of my teenage years of the 1990'S 👍👏
Damn nostalgia in full effect, this game had so many secrets to discover and it was a bit difficult like those old Dracula, robo cop games.
Ducktales used nostalgia.
It's super effective!
I had this game... Best music ever! i spend my childhood playing!
Damn! I was 9 years old when this came out. I finished it when I was 10 though. Lol
yo lo jugue cuando tenia 7 años y me da nostalgia de como lo recuerdo a como lo veo, :)
esos eran buenos tiempos
hahah played this game so much on my nes back then when i was a kid ^^
still got goosebumbs from hearing the song ^^
This is my childhood right here!
I just started playing this as part of the Disney Afternoon Collection on the PS4 and XBox One. I do have them as ROMs on my NES Classic too.
I'm going to go ahead and say that this is my favorite NES game.
You realize this game is that short when you've eaten a tupperware of lupines while watching the whole longplay.

Oh good, there's some gameplay in there. For the first minute I thought it was just going to be the theme song for half an hour. ;)
Oh God the memories - damn I'm old as shit..
Scrooge McDuck has earned acheivement "Ducks can to fly!" - stayed in the air for 30 seconds without touching the ground.
This game is... Amazing 10/10
this brings back memorys i loved this game :))
My goodness I love this game! I need to dig it out of storage and play it again...
awesome run!
Outta curiosity, what happens if you lose the climb to the top at the very end? And what does the message read?
Well, first of all you automatically lose a life, then Scrooge says something along the lines of "Curse me kilts! Glomgold has the treasures. I must fight Dracula duck again." Then you have to fight the final boss again. If you're down to your last life and lose the race, you get a Game Over.
Wow..this brings back memories :) I remember playing this after a Megaman marathon many years ago lol
Loved this game. I took a screenshot of my high score... with a literal film camera.
If I remember correctly, you can do a gold swing on the crates of coal in the african mine and sometimes treasure come out.
Great playthrough. And you were able to obtain all the 1-ups unlike how I did when I played this game back in the day.
forgot how short some of these games used to be. still played them over and over :).
right at the end I'm going "don't worry kids, he practically never spends any of his money anyway and it will be yours when the old guy chokes on a bagle or something"
Published by Disney, but developed by Capcom. So that's why it's got that Mega Man 2 feel!
I'm still looking for my NES. I played this and chip and dale non stop
Gave a thumbs due to the fact the title screen was left on to play the entirety of the theme song.
The Disney Afternoon collection for PS4 and Xbox One as a downloadable game.
1. Duck Tales 1 and 2
2. Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers 1 and 2
3. Dark Wing Duck
4. Tales Spin
I bought the XBox One version yesterday as part of their latest sale.
Please add this game in the Virtual console for Nintendo Switch
The local convenience store had this game available for rent when I was a kid.
Oh my gosh, this was my favourite
*Listens to opening theme* IT WILL NEVER LEAVE, IT WILL NEVER LEAVE!!
HEY! In the mines, you can wack the coal bins and they spit out a large gem.
same for the trees in AMAZONIA

It's not every day that you hear an 8bit composer deliberately mimic an echo/reverb effect by repetition of notes alone. OMG
Thanks. Now This song is stuck in my head for another 2 weeks...
The music in this game is absoutely brilliant
The Moon theme... oh man... one of the bests game's song ever !
It's coming back!
With the correct shirt color for the Beagle Boys!
Cant wait till the remastered version this summer!!! Geeeeeaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!
Scrooge McDuck is a triple OG: eats nothing but sugar, steals whatever he wants and crushes the skulls of anyone stupid enough to get in his way...
Better then the HD remake,no load times ,no jiddy jaddy jadda.
Checking out the differences between this game and remastered, It's been a LONG time since I played this game.
*THIS GAME CONTAINS DUCKS*
You, sir, play like a boss!
Def an under rated game the only thing that hurt it was that it was such a short game.... but in its time it was quite good and ahead of its time
Impressive gameplay, well done.
if you came here after watching the Ducktales remaster trailer but never played this, you missed out on some good fun.
How do you make a video file of an NES game. I could never figure it out and I want to. Thanks.
I belive that he is using a emulator and a rom.
bless me bagpipes...this be a great playthrough laddy!
this game ugh almost pure torture, the music still gets to me.
Capcom and Konami really knew how to much great music back in the NES days.... they really pushed the limits of that little 8-bit machine.
a freaking awesome game, who says it is all about graphics
man so much memories…
I'm singing the brazilian version of DuckTales right now...
"São os caçadores de aventuras! uh uh!
Todos eles são grandes figuras! uh uh!"
i beat it a few times now that i think about it but i always still played it, it was one of those games though it was beat able you still always found yourself playing it again...

Dang, never realized how short the original game is. You could beat it in half an hour.

Wow... watching this after the remaster. Things really changed...
ahhhh i loved the TV program when i was younger
Going by what little I could make out of it during Capcom Unity's livestream yesterday, it is.
Remastered version should bring back the nostalgia! They better not mess up music for The Moon and Jungle!
You can get treasures from some of the tombstones in Transylvania and the giant crates in the Mines by striking them with your cane. Just a quick tip.
make our memories last forever
thank you youtube

The music of the Moon stage is awesome :)
Adn there is also Gizmoduck!! :))))))
man this is way better then playing a batman game
hope the remastered keeps the same soundtrack for each stage
Miss this game.
I beat ducktales 1&2 on the Disney afternoon collection. I still have ducktales remastered for Wii u

wait... remaking these games or the show? o.0
Why do you need THREE buttons to use the cane
That’s what I always wondered about too. It’s easy to do when I play it via emulator but it’s a pain on the Disney Afternoon collection.
