@@brandonmartin-moore5302 I not only got to see but got to enjoy the trips using it, mainly going to a local leisure center for our swimming lessons and it was used later for travelling to a farm in Stourport where horse riding lessons were given to children with learning disabilities, myself being one of them.
All the old adverts 😂…one of the best shows to ever be on tv! Anyone who was a kid or even an adult back then knew this show was just great !!! The reboot is good but can never beat the classic show

Simply because Britain in the 90s the number of professional sportswomen were few with tiny salaries/sponsorships and even so, would the public even have known about them? Can't be a celebrity if the press didn't give you coverage which unfortunately was and still is the case for the majority of sports women. Not to mention society's treatment of women who wanted to work out or bodybuild back then, they were seen as freaks, lesbians or tomboys. No social media culture to normalise or make money from your appearance either, jobs were extremely limited to a handful of parts playing minor characters in movies, TV and adult entertainment, not exactly glamorous.
Most of the elite level female athletes in Britain ended up being Gladiators - Sharon Davies, Kate Staples and Judy Simpson, a.k.a. Amazon, Zodiac and Nightshade. It's the highest form of compliment already, in my opinion 😄 Or maybe the show just never asked them because they didn't think it was what audiences wanted to see. Or it was pure and blatant sexism. The show didn't have an Ultimate Gladiator competition for the female Gladiators either, sadly. Lightning tried to explain why it didn't happen and it was something to do with time constraints and how many episodes or air time the show had left on their contract. She also said that she didn't think she would fare very well anyway as she had only given birth 3 weeks prior to filming the men's episode and her only event (The Wall) on the final year champions series
That Martin is an idiot making out the gladiator was so slow he had time to do his laces before the finish line. Why did John Anderson allow the points for The 2nd round of Pursuit? . Martin took the wrong wire bridge causing the gladiator's chashing the wrong contenders, then Martin didn't even do the hand leader given him a massive lead. Zodiac was robbed of her victory which she would had slayed. And that comment about Nightshade changing colour doesn't sit right.
Still though, I stand firm about the Nightshade changing colour not sounding round. But then it was mid 90s, awareness wasn't as it is today in regards to jokes about skin colour coming across as offensive.

And in the heat of competition, they're not going to take the time to look closely in order to appease virtue signalers. Skin's the largest organ on the body, and I'm not sure you noticed, but the uniforms could be described as "skimpy".
I am happy that Derek Redmond won the celebrity special of uk gladiators. it was just the guys only. they use some events that the guys are chased or sparred by the female gladiators for fun neener neener neener the female gladiators cant catch these male challengers. on the wall when lightning caught grabbed and pulled ellery hanley down from the wall ellery hugged lightning derek redmond got away from zodiac. jet caught grabbed and pulled mark bosnich off the wall. on the pursuit event derek redmond got away from lightning. jet caught eddie kidd early on the pursuit event by default for eddie kidd cheating by going back to the monkey bars and chasing jet nightshade and zodiac got side tracked for losing track on chasing their correct male challenger. the dangerous events are for the male gladiators only to play with the male challengers. panther got disqualified for cheating by shortcuting and obsticle to catch ellery hanley. falcon catches barry mcguigan on the pursuit event. whoo these male gladiators barnyarding these male challengers. sincerely Derek kinman
