Raymond sounds like my modder as well, he replaces everything with high quality components even if they are currently working properly. I like knowing there won't be any issues for the coming future. Always worth the cost of the work they put in.
Thanks for posting the link to Raymonds site. BTW - My PC Engine Duo is now RGB modded and I also got a Turbo Everdrive. I always thought my PC Engine had the best composite video of any of my consoles, so I was quite shocked how much better RGB was. Dungeon Explorer looks like a different game!
His mod work is impressive far better and more advanced than my self however I do have a problem I'm one of those people who has to do it myself great video Adam
Awesome video Adam! Was awesome to meet you at Next Level! Also, I second what Adam is saying, Raymond's mod's are the best of the best, I wouldn't trust my consoles to anyone else! Matt Cartwright TheBlondePretender
even though I mostly use RGB I still use S-video time to time. Like sometimes I want to play my systems on my CRT in my bedroom and it only has S-vid inputs, but on a CRT it is very hard to tell the difference between S-vid and RGB
Hey Adam Welcome to the UK, have to update us on your trip post your return & let us know what goodies you stocked up on from Raymond! Have a good one!!!
for my snes and sega cdx (genesis slot) I use game genies for region free, for the cd side I believe it's region free as it is, for my saturn I use an action replay cart for region free, for PS1 I use the breaker pro disc, for my slim PS2 (latest model which is the easiest to "mod" without opening the console or anything like that) I use the swap magic 3, for my gamecube I use an action replay
Thats pretty cool man, i was able to fix my psone av out and im thinking about your firend to chipmod my psone inorder to play imported psone games without having to do the swap disk trick (since that method have the chance to scratch my cd games or damaged the laser that reads the disk
Sorry if this is a little off topic, but what cables are there available for Sega 32X that are better than the standard R/F? i can't find any that match the pins correctly for the A/V out on a 32X.
ha ha...Ya RGB SCART is best but that is a Euro/Jap format and will need a adaptor box to convert it to component or HDMI as well. I just recommended composite cables because the should be easy to find offline and most CRT televisions have the inputs.
I wish you knew someone on the US who does that, I would love to have my Sega CD with new parts. I have a question though, if you region mod your Sega CD (model 2), do you need to do the same with Genesis?
AdamKoralik One more thing, is the Genesis Power Base region free? Because I'm thinking of trading in my old model 2 for a model 1 with a power base. Yes, I know about the model 2 power base.
Region coding on the Genesis is determined by each game, most games are region free. However, Japanese games are a different shape. They require the case of the North American/European version to be cut slightly to run them.
I hear that an rgb modded snes mini has the best video output as far as snes goes. I'm gonna get mine pre-modded on ebay, but for now I'm getting an nes 1 that I'm going to get modded for rgb sometime soon. Would Raymond happen to do the mods for the original nes?
I'm talking about the new NESRGB board that you install into an nes and a custom 3d printed multiout connector that goes on the nes case. I know gametech does those mods, but hes not taking on any new mod work til october. So thats why I'm asking
No, but if you get an rgb monitor like a sony pvm there is a rgb to bnc cable that you can use. I'm getting an rgb monitor to see if its as awesome as people say. Btw Adam, I have that scart to hdmi converter, but I just prefer crts for retro games. ;)
I have this cartridge that acts as a memory card and it also has cheats and codes added in........the same cartridge also makes my Saturn region free so I can play the Japanese games
System RAM expansion cartridges, Memory cartridges for game saves, cheat devices like Game Shark, and the NetLink modem. A few games in Japan even utilized ROM cartridges that held some of the game data to increase load times. Sega Saturn is not backwards compatible with any previous Sega hardware.
Adam! Where did you get that nifty adapter thing for the SFC? I have both an SFC and a SNES but if I had that adapter I would be able to sell my butt-ugly SNES and not have to look at it anymore.
Does Raymond happen to have a TH-cam Channel? I would quite like to see it if he actually has any videos on fixing consoles. I must also thank you for his website. I may wish to use his services when I finally get a job. Would love to see my Playstation 1 become region free...if he does Playstation Ones.
I need the cartridge insert on my colecovision replaced or something I tried putting a cartridge in it and smashed a pin into the bottom I tried bending it back but the I think I made it worse. I don't think it's worth the money to ship it to the uk but I don't know where else to take it if it can even be fixed or replaced.
Thats actually really cool i wonder if he could do this with modern consoles I wish I knew how to do this. I noticed if your going to ship out of the U.S use DHL shipping they are good and fast. I mean really fast i ordered alot of stuff from china and it usually only takes a few days.
Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see the purpose of modding a Saturn to be region free when for a few dollars you can easily get an Action Replay cart.
If he has a youtube channel too you should have mentioned it, like in the title, as well as his name and whatnot. Since he did do all the mods youre talking about here. Just sayin, that would be some real credit given to where its due.
AdamKoralik yea i was saying if he did, but to give some more recognition you could say his name in the title, or perhaps a username he goes by, at any rate you should feel real lucky for him doing all this... i would be constantly ecstatic lol
DjStiv3 I've made multiple videos about the dude, plugged his website and name. More than he ever wanted. So much so, he asked me to stop because he couldn't handle the volume of e-mails.
AdamKoralik nice, thats true appreciation, Also, i cant recall if you have a combo system, but someone like you could benefit from it. A 32x/cd/genesis combo unit, maybe even saturn mixed in, i saw a vid of someone that called it the fusion i believe, pretty friggin awesome.
D@nm it, Adam's shirt. - That is Freaking awesome, but WHY are so many consoles region locked to begin with? It seems like doing that would be a major problem for the makers of the consoles considering it encourages hacking and modifying.
Looks like both you and me would beat up our younger selves haha. Young me was like meh the sega master system is just a nes but worse and then years later I became a sega fanboy and love the master system haha.
Raymond sounds like my modder as well, he replaces everything with high quality components even if they are currently working properly. I like knowing there won't be any issues for the coming future.

No problem.
That's awesome!

Thanks for watching!
Awesome video Adam! Was awesome to meet you at Next Level!
Also, I second what Adam is saying, Raymond's mod's are the best of the best, I wouldn't trust my consoles to anyone else!

TheBlondePretender
Hell yeah man, thanks again for the ride and for Sonic Adventure!
***** absolutely my pleasure pal. Only wish I had more good doubles, other than a lifetime supply of chu chu rocket.
TheBlondePretender Ha, I'd have taken one. I just have the US version.
AdamKoralik I'll give all the doubles to Raymond. Next time he ships to you he can put them in with his stuff. Happy days :)
TheBlondePretender You sure man? Incidentally, I managed to get Sonic Adventure 2 at Super Tomato.
Infamous Raymond! What amazing work :O
great stuff Adam, some very tasty mods there! I do a little myself and your are 100% correct the switchesless ones are a work of art!
Thanks for watching.
even though I mostly use RGB I still use S-video time to time. Like sometimes I want to play my systems on my CRT in my bedroom and it only has S-vid inputs, but on a CRT it is very hard to tell the difference between S-vid and RGB
Its been so many time i cant remember what you say in the intro after "part of our quick shoot series"
Hey Adam Welcome to the UK, have to update us on your trip post your return & let us know what goodies you stocked up on from Raymond! Have a good one!!!
It's been great so far, you'll see videos, don't worry.
He's certainly made a good job on your consoles!
I've emailed him asking if he can do an all in one power supply for the mark 1 MD/MCD
Actually, those already exist. I did a video on it.
Yeah I watched it but isn't it for the US market?
for my snes and sega cdx (genesis slot) I use game genies for region free, for the cd side I believe it's region free as it is, for my saturn I use an action replay cart for region free, for PS1 I use the breaker pro disc, for my slim PS2 (latest model which is the easiest to "mod" without opening the console or anything like that) I use the swap magic 3, for my gamecube I use an action replay
I love the way raymond mods stuff. Adam anychance he could do a mod on consoles to HDMI conversion im sure it can be done for the higher resolution?
Maybe, but I imagine that'd be costly.
Region free is what all consoles should be like by default. It's great that people provide a service making the systems region free.
100% agreed.
"Stop reading my shirt"
DAMNIT
> : D
AdamKoralik I didn't even notice your shirt til people said something. .-.
Thats pretty cool man, i was able to fix my psone av out and im thinking about your firend to chipmod my psone inorder to play imported psone games without having to do the swap disk trick (since that method have the chance to scratch my cd games or damaged the laser that reads the disk
I'm sure he could.
Sorry if this is a little off topic, but what cables are there available for Sega 32X that are better than the standard R/F? i can't find any that match the pins correctly for the A/V out on a 32X.
Composite(Yellow, red, white). The pins are the same as a model 2 Genesis so any a/v cable for that will work on your 32X.
RGB SCART, definitely the way to go. Fuck composite, it's pure shit.
I did a video about it if you're curious.
ha ha...Ya RGB SCART is best but that is a Euro/Jap format and will need a adaptor box to convert it to component or HDMI as well. I just recommended composite cables because the should be easy to find offline and most CRT televisions have the inputs.
In uk, have stuff I'd like him to do for me, will get round to it at some point
@dwarf365 Yep.
Those are awesome modding talents. Thanks for the vid and you are right
Thanks for watching.
I wish you knew someone on the US who does that, I would love to have my Sega CD with new parts. I have a question though, if you region mod your Sega CD (model 2), do you need to do the same with Genesis?
I wish I did too.
I'd have to double check on that.
GOD DAMN YOU!
I can't stop reading your shirt! :'O
Love your videos, keep it up! :D
Thanks.
Can you please show the internals of one to see the actual mod compared to a standard one?
Any one in particular?
AdamKoralik
Would be cool to see the Megadrive/Geneses and SNES. To see how it's done, and if it's the same method/chip or not.
best t-shirt ever ^^
Do you still have that sega CD model 1 video? I have a buddy who tried to repair one once and he couldnt figure it out.
I never made a video about how to repair one, frankly it's way beyond my skills.
Oh sorry I thought I heard you mention something about a video. Sorry I must have been tripping or something lol
How do you use RGB scart? Do you use an adapter on a US tv, or do you use a European one?
This is how I do it: th-cam.com/video/RS55pmLIEjA/w-d-xo.html
Just wondering, does the Master System model 2 have RGB support, and is it region free?
Not without modification, natively it only supports RF.
Yes, it's region free.
AdamKoralik
One more thing, is the Genesis Power Base region free? Because I'm thinking of trading in my old model 2 for a model 1 with a power base. Yes, I know about the model 2 power base.
Region coding on the Genesis is determined by each game, most games are region free.
However, Japanese games are a different shape. They require the case of the North American/European version to be cut slightly to run them.
AdamKoralik
I'm aware that the Geneses/Mega Drives are like that, but are Master System carts shaped differently?
ShogunGin0
Japanese ones might be, not sure. But the rest are the same.
Oh man I want him to do my sega Saturn like that now too. How much does it typically cost to have this done?
He tends to be really reasonable, it's the shipping that hurts. His e-mail is in the description.
I hear that an rgb modded snes mini has the best video output as far as snes goes. I'm gonna get mine pre-modded on ebay, but for now I'm getting an nes 1 that I'm going to get modded for rgb sometime soon. Would Raymond happen to do the mods for the original nes?
He's able to, but the problem is finding compatible versions. Only certain French models of the NES can be modded for RGB.
I'm talking about the new NESRGB board that you install into an nes and a custom 3d printed multiout connector that goes on the nes case. I know gametech does those mods, but hes not taking on any new mod work til october. So thats why I'm asking
Those s-video mods are probably useful if you use the Genesis on a CRT. Is there any way to use RGB scart on a NA CRT?
Not that I'm aware of.
No, but if you get an rgb monitor like a sony pvm there is a rgb to bnc cable that you can use. I'm getting an rgb monitor to see if its as awesome as people say. Btw Adam, I have that scart to hdmi converter, but I just prefer crts for retro games. ;)
Where would i be able to get that adapter to play SNES games on a PAL SNES/Super Famicom?
ebay and such i think they made those for most cartridge based systems that had region locking
Yes, EBay.
get a game genie, it's the cheapest adapter you will ever get and you can use cheat codes, if you are into that (I am)
Adam ReviewTechUSA is trying to make HDMI output Genesises, are you gonna order one when he releases them?
Supposedly he's sending me a review unit actually.
Cool. I wonder how that will end up going. (I heard about you before he mentioned you in a video just throwing that out there)
zachmanrulez We'll see, I still kind of doubt it'll happen. But, who knows.
Why does the saturn have a cartridge slot in the back? Is it backwards compatible with the Genesis?
Its for Flash based memory cards and carts that were like N64 expansion packs which gave more RAM.
EBay.
I wonder if he can do the Mega Amp mod on a Sega Genesis.
Maybe, I'm not familiar with that one.
This mod basically restores the original sound quality of the Sega Genesis on all models. That's how I understand it so far.
Can this Raymond guy mod generation 5 and 6 consoles the same as the ones in this video?
Depends on the console I'm sure.
will it still work with this?
Thanks for the vid Adam! I would assume he could hack the daylights out of an original Xbone?
Does the ps1 controller fit into the snes controller port?
No.
does raymond charge anything if u send something to him?
Can the Japaness Sega Saturn play American Sega Saturn games default?
Natively no, but it's super easy to get around. All you need is an Action Replay memory card and it disables the region coding.
Awesome video! I wonder if he does PS2s?
He may, shoot him an e-mail.
He does not.
He may do PS1s, you'd have to ask.
nice shirt adam
how much do these mods cost?
He generally doesn't charge much, you'd have to e-mail him. It's the shipping that will get you unfortunately.
Does this guy still mod? Id really like to get a modded genesis, sega CD, and Pal Super Nintendo
I'd recommend my buddy Ronald, he's based in Austria, this is e-mail: shop@konsolentherapie.at
Tell him I recommended him to you.
Ok thank you
Great Video!
Thanks!
Man, that's a tough one. Probably best to try opening it up and correcting it with some pliers.
So does he do ps1s
I believe so, yes. Send him an e-mail.
AdamKoralik Thanks
Now how much does he charge?
Depends on what you want done. The shipping is the real killer.
I couldn't stop reading your shirt.
Jokes on you, Adam! I never read it..true story
Seems legit.
Thats actually really cool i wonder if he could do this with modern consoles I wish I knew how to do this. I noticed if your going to ship out of the U.S use DHL shipping they are good and fast. I mean really fast i ordered alot of stuff from china and it usually only takes a few days.
Shipping between North American and Asia is a lot cheaper than shipping between North America and Europe unfortunately.
Yeah which makes since since so much is coming back in fourth. I wish shipping didn't cost so much sometimes its just Ridiculous.
Modded consoles are awesome. I have 2 modded original xboxes, 3 modded ps2 slims, and 1 modded dreamcast
Love the shirt.
I live in the UK and I much prefer the NTSC SNES
Seems like everyone likes the versions they didn't get.
i cant stop reading your shirt.
Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see the purpose of modding a Saturn to be region free when for a few dollars you can easily get an Action Replay cart.
+Michael Wolfe Not all games support that. Especially a lot of the Japanese stuff.
AdamKoralik I didn't know that. It's strange that SEGA, one of the most liberal gaming companies ever, would make importing games challenging.
The beard oh the beard sexy overload *insert Kreygasm icon from Twitch here*
Has anyone called you andrew luck by mistake you look really like him with the beard!
Never heard that one, no.
If he has a youtube channel too you should have mentioned it, like in the title, as well as his name and whatnot. Since he did do all the mods youre talking about here. Just sayin, that would be some real credit given to where its due.
He'd have to have a channel for that to make sense.
AdamKoralik
yea i was saying if he did, but to give some more recognition you could say his name in the title, or perhaps a username he goes by, at any rate you should feel real lucky for him doing all this... i would be constantly ecstatic lol

That is Freaking awesome, but WHY are so many consoles region locked to begin with? It seems like doing that would be a major problem for the makers of the consoles considering it encourages hacking and modifying.
Adam, if you want a North American SNES that's more sleek you can get a SNES 2
I have one, I don't like it because they stripped out the RGB support.
Ahh okay that's a stupid move on Nintendo's part.
Looks like both you and me would beat up our younger selves haha.
Young me was like meh the sega master system is just a nes but worse and then years later I became a sega fanboy and love the master system haha.
I reading your shirt. Don't kill me.
You're pardoned.
love the shirt LOL
Thanks!
Video starts and i see Adam, and i already failed!

@@AdamKoralik Shirt...
This sucks! he doesn't mod JVC-X'eyes or Wondermegas! :(
RGB and region mod. But it seems he is in the UK..
NeCacaluXuxultic That he is.
AdamKoralik
...... do you know of anybody that is local? -_-
NeCacaluXuxultic Not with his skill set.
AdamKoralik hmm I feel like selling my wondermega now :/
why I cant stop reading your shirt? :/
You just like my rack.
