I'll just say your guidance regarding the screw holding the wiring harness was invaluable. The first TH-cam I watched said to bend the bracket, but I couldn't get it bent enough because there's such a short lead. Taking the screw out makes a lot more sense. Thanks. If I could give you more thumbs-ups, I would.

I have a 2013 V. Everything has changed. I got the Toyota staff to show me the trick to take out the lower glove cover. I will attempt removal later when time permits.

Gregg, can you please link to the blower motor that you purchased? I'm about to take this job on myself. One issue I have had is finding a blower motor that will accurately fit the Prius V.
Edit: Did the blower motor in this video also have an attached resistor?

Hello Gavin, Thank you for watching and commenting. I will provide link below tot he motor I purchased. There is no resistor on this motor. I think this type is controlled by PWM not a resistor but could be wrong about that. If there is a resistor it would be located in the airstream of the system (the airflow keeps the resistors cool when on lower speeds). Please write back in and let us know how this job goes for you.

Thank you for this video. Do you think the blower motor your linked would also work with a 2012 Prius Three as well? I tried doing my own research, but I couldn't find a definitive answer.

Thank you for watching. I looked up 2012 Prius and then 2012 Prius V on RockAuto. Shows same part number for both cars.

Does this disassembly work the same for the 2017 Prius V

Thank you for watching and commenting. I am not sure if the 2017 is exactly the same as this 2012 but it should not be too much difference.

Howdy, I’ve been recently looking to buy a Prius V. From what I’ve been hearing is that these vehicles start going downhill around 150k miles with EGR/head gasket issues and eventually around 200k they need a completely new engine. Now I don’t know if this is true for everyone but I’m curious if you’ve experienced any of these issues?

Hey DEFNASTYS, Thank you for watching and commenting. I have owned multiple Prius and have found them to be very good cars. I have gathered that 2010 is one of the least desirable years to get as they tend to have more issues than the rest. The 3rd gen can have head gasket issues if the coolant is not changed regularly. I suggest taking any car you are thinking about buying to a shop and pay for them to do a head gasket test before you purchase it. Another suggestion I have would be to download Dr Prius app and Torque Lite app then get a cheap OBD2 code reader. With these you can read codes (if any) and look at battery pack health. Please write back and let us know if you end up purchasing the Prius V or a different car and what checks/results you saw.

@@GreggFesto thank you for your input! I will definitely get all of those things. I’ve been avoiding the 2010’s and looking to most likely get a V model that’s a 2012-2014. Seems to be in my price range. I’m trying to gather as much info on these vehicles as I can so I know exactly what to look out for so thank you for reaching back and I will definitely let you know once I make my decision!
