      Its TOTALLY ENTRAPMENT, and most likely a setup by local PD to increase thier arrest rate as well as qualify for federal funds for "busting" a "drug trafficker". All of these cops should go to prison for a minimum of 20 years, with the assaulting officer getting 30 to life. Don't like the responsibilities? Dont take the job. • @VelocityOfAFallingRock
      @VelocityOfAFallingRock หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      I'm surprised the K-9 officer didn't signal the dog to alert. The use of K-9 is quite controversial as 1) Their handlers have ways--typically a quick hand gesture, sometimes captured on bodycams--to trigger a false alert, which the police then use as probable cause to conduct a vehicle search, and 2) When it comes to sniffing *vehicles*, canines have an accuracy of around 60% (so, a little better than tossing a coin). Yet, courts continue to allow to proceed drug cases based on K-9 alerts.

    • @DaveP326

      And that's why what happened later on, happened-fired, arrested & sued. This is NOT what they're taught to do in police college. They are SUPPOSED to know (and follow) the law. and department procedures. This exhibition of abuse of authority should be taught in the academy as what NOT to do.

    • @VelocityOfAFallingRock
      @VelocityOfAFallingRock หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@DaveP326 What you say is very true, EXCEPT that *after* they come out of police academy and start working, they learn about "us vs. them," qualified immunity, how to have each other's backs (translation: I lie on a police report, and you back me up; they call it "being a team player"), and how they can get away with certain shady behavior as long as they do it in a certain way because of some court ruling. And so, with the passage of time, much of all that "straight-laced" academy instruction goes out the window for a significant number of the cadets, who then become little more than thugs in uniform.

      Actually, its not quite what you said. Cops do leave, because they're either laid off after doing something crooked, or they're good cops who left from pressure or got fired for actually holding their fellows accountable, or maybe said good cops were disgusted with the system and wanted out.
      Second, the police are OVERFUNDED, why do you think there's protests about defunding the police? Its the same issue with the military, but worse, because its one thing to significantly fund our armed forces, but its another thing to overfund the cops, who only ever really serve to protect corporate or political interests, with only the occasional decent cops doing their jobs right.
      Lastly, the cops just arent given proper background checks or training, regardless of funding. They're just bodies in the grinder waiting to vent their egotism on an unwilling citizen, especially if the cop is white and their victim is non-white.
      Now, is this to say cops are supervillains who scheme day and night? Well, no, but they ARE vastly corrupt to the core. The whole system needs to be burned down, purified, then rebuilt carefully so that a following police system isnt so broken and twisted. I had a minor drug charge in 2000. 2012 rolls around, and I got pulled over for the first time in 12 years because I had a tail light out. They asked for consent to search, which I refused, citing they have zero reason to believe I'm carrying anything. They called in the dog, got zero hits, searched my car anyways, and then sent me off with a $10 seat belt ticket out of spite because they simply could not admit they were wrong. The kicker is, my tail light wasn't even out. He then said it was flickering when I went over bumps, which it wasn't. If cops could admit they made a mistake, problems would go down and respect would go up. They just can't seem to own the mistake until someone makes them own it

    They were trying to create probable cause after the fact.

    I remember when this story broke. It still makes me sick to my stomach. The whole operation makes me sick. The police PLANTED drugs on an innocent persons porch (or as they call it "controlled distribution"). Lose track or the box, make an illegal stop based on their mistakes, assault the guy, refuse to release him after they learned THEY were wrong and STILL had the nerve to try to prosecute him. Probably to hide their own failure. It makes me sick thinking if the unlawful prosecution would have went ahead, his life could have been ruined, loss of income, probably lose his home, perhaps a divorce, losing his kids. All because these pigs couldn't admit they were wrong. THERE IS NO SITUATION IN LIFE COPS CAN'T MAKE MUCH WORSE.

      I'm not fully tracking what their operation entailed. Was the fed ex package intercepted, or did the police pack it themselves with MJ, address it to a mystery person, and then randomly pick a house to drop it off at?

    • @stab456
