Those older relatively small displacement V8 engines from Mercedes do have a particularly lovely sound and the styling of the car can only be described as impeccable. It's an amazing car and a beautiful restoration.
Lovely video. Museum quality restoration. I cannot think of a better-quality restoration is possible. Bravo! Mercedes Benz sold for anywhere between 5,500 (Model 220) - $11,500 (300 SEL 6.3) in 1971...At a time when an American Cadillac sold for about $6,800 to maybe $7,400 and a Chevrolet sold for about $3,800. How could anyone drive these cars after this 'beyond showroom quality restoration"? Perhaps only on the best weather days. 4:00: The "beautiful part" is known as a bezel (bezz'-ell) which surrounds the taillight (and bezels surround the headlights also). 4:29 "Chrome element" is known in the USA as a "horn rim" (used to sound the horn). The steering wheel might have been "recast"....which is a costly process. Then again, rechroming metal parts today is highly expensive. 5:32 The copper is applied via a process known as "electroplating". The chrome is applied the same way. The sewing machine: I like the use of the laser guide light to ensure perfect stitching. I congratulate you on your excellent English!
I was told that the price for a fully restored example as shown in this video would be around $700,000! I bought my first SE coupe in 1975 for only $4,150. Times have changed.
Great video and testament to the skills in the modern era. I own a 1976 MB 240D. it's original and in pretty good condition. Last year it was the wedding car for my daughter!
Great to see this quality of workmanship outside Germany. If only I had the money, but good luck to those that have. The video could have been much longer and with a driving segment. More please!
An incredibly eternal beauty. One of the best Mercedes ever. Convertible wanted for various reasons, but perhaps the coupe even more desirable (at least by me :-))
These Motor Classic cars are absolutely beautiful, and a perfect homage to the Mercedes build quality of the day. My parents have a '57 190SL sitting in their garage attracting dust for the last 15 years, with the wheels off. Probably a good donor car for one of these projects. Too bad this company doesn't buy donor cars from the US.
You got to improve yourself on side window panels. I know is very tedious to set them correctly but 99% of the work is done as i see. Well done guys congratulation.
I don’t see the sense in spending so much money in an old car. Of course the work is amazing, but most of these cars get parked in a collection and keep standing for ever. 😊😊😊

Stunning cars don't care what anyone says new mercs can't compete with these, poor mechanics work in terrible conditions I see!, the dirt on that floor is shocking
Clearly one of the most beautiful cars ever built with serious gravitas. These cars are immaculately presented
Copy that....
Wow what a magnificent result. It looks absolutely
Stunning . A 50 yr old + car rebuilt & bought back to life for another 50 yrs. Incredible
Hats off, old world craftmanship.
Amazing restoration workmanship of perhaps the best 4 seater convertible ever produced. It has it all: Sturdiness, beauty, class, to name but a few!
It has no peers, simply the best of all time❤❤

Best part is the presenter is dressed with class.
This is pure old money in all senses, this is a car for someone who truly love cars and driving a car.❤
This is higher level even better than the original?
Too good.
What an excellent company that provides such attention to detail.
Beautiful vehicle. I love seeing craftsmanship like a nice car brought back to life and restored so nicely.

$700K, either USD or Euros, seems about right ... Couldn't it be much less?
I would pay no more than $50,000 for this foreign car.
Very interesting clip, amazingly beautiful cars End product much cost a fortune.
Truly amazing, and thank you for the video, congratulations, excellent work.
I really really love this. Good to see these old classic Merc restoration. Great video about great auto company

I’m impressed with this restoration. My favorite one or two colors for MB, and the hubcaps with the exterior color is also a favorite of mine !

I had the big brother to this car...a Mercedes Benz 300 SEL 6.3 I sold it long ago, but I am still in love with its memory. Doctor George Whitehead
The hand-built 600 was last produced in 1981. The Porsche-built E500 of 1993 was too.

Lo mejor o nada.
Mercedes Benz es un auto parada la vida
Do a shot every time he says “in house” 😂😂😂
Lovely car, lovely work - but this is not an S-class. The first of those was the W116 in 1972.
The minute I win the lottery I will be calling you!
❤❤❤❤❤😘😘😘👋
What’s the price tag?
Beautiful except I can't afford it...
