Biggest losses for the original BCP were definitely Airship Fortress, Dry Dry Ruins, GBA Luigi Circuit and BC4. Hopefully all these tracks can be in a BCP 2 or potentially the next game
Personally I think Yoshi Desert is a much greater loss than Luigi Circuit, Luigi Circuit had like nothing done to it other than the ramp which was kinda disappointing, to me at least
2:28 I'm sorry, but I can't anymore with this statement. The preservation argument is WRONG, and not just a little. When MKT was created, the devs knew what they were getting into, they knew that, at worst, one days those assets would be lost, just like EVERY MOBILE GAME. And, at best, once tour dies, those tracks could still be playable offline. Saying that the BCP was created only to preserve the tour tracks is wrong since, by aknowledging this, people forget the whole point of this pass !!! No, not preserve the Tour tracks, but MILK MK8DX. When tour was created, they had NO IDEA Mk8dx would keep selling so well, they realised that afterward. For fuck sake they even said so in an interview !!!!!! It's just like people saying that Tour is dependant of the BCP when it comes to the content it gets. It's not the case and it has never been. Just becajse a track gets an awesome remake in tour doesn't mean "ho they surely had 8dx in mind when making this one" ! Now, maybe that their vision has changed, which is likely. Even if the bcp was first meant to milk MK8, they surely though that adding tour would not only make a good buying argument, but also make the track's preservation easyer. But NEVER was that the main goal of the bcp. If the tour tracks were ported in the first place, it was to make their work easier and faster, on top of porting Tour's exclusive track to console, making their adaptation in future entry easier (aka the lazy method, which they are thankfully working to improove). Allow me to give you a final explanation by taking things into order : Tour is created --> The devs know that their assets will be lost one day --> MK8 keeps selling like hot cake --> They decide to port the tour tracks to make easy money with MK8dx playerbase. If you consider that the devs knew they would use mk8dx to preserve the Tour tracks, you aknowledge that they knew that in the future, MK8dx sales wouldn't go down, and that they could use it to their advantage. Do people even realise how WRONG that statement is ?!? I'm really sorry for sounding harsh. This is by no mean dirrected at you specifically, but I'm just tired of people saying "BCP was created to preserve the Tour tracks". This is straight up wrong. And if they really did that for preservation, then in that sense, Nintendo would also have to add every Battle map, Karts parts, Characters AND Costumes to 8dx, which is simply not possible.
We’re getting pretty late into the Switch 1’s life, so they’re likely moving on to the Switch 2 & Mario Kart 10 by next year for at least the former. Maybe the additional Tour assets will be a base for the next Mario Kart.
Exactly and honestly I think the textures should be like in the booster course pass because isn’t it just simple to just put those specific textures into the from tour into the game already?
@@kayden2119 yeah especially with the the switch because you know how every 6 years a new Nintendo console is made but in this case,the switch has been more successful which 6 years have passed and the switch is still alive which Nintendo even wants to extend the lifetime of the switch so it’s unlikely for a new console to happen due to the success of the Nintendo Switch
People are only convinced a BCP2 will happen because their favourite track or character (skin) was left out, but its really not a viable reason to release more content
Just look at the cup rings ,the first cups have a golden backgr ,the bcp cups have silver backgr but there are no bronze cups so a second bcp makes sense

They could easily just be saving the fan favorites for the next game. Nintendo will be making a new console which will most likely be by 2024-25. Instead of making new models for said tracks they could just up the poly count add new textures and lighting for the tour ones. They are more so experimenting on how good they can make them look in 8 though I do think they have been working on the said next game for a long time.
I'm kinda torn when it comes to when the next console will come out. On the one hand, we are starting to reach a point where the hardware is becoming very outdated and previous consoles typically came out every 5-6 years. But on the other hand, the Switch's install base is REALLY good when compared to how many consoles have been sold, so I honestly could see Nintendo milking the Switch for as long as they can. I will say though, if we have to way 2+ years after the Booster Course Pass for a new Mario Kart game regardless of if we get a second Booster Course Pass, then I'm honestly down for a second Booster Course Pass.
That's what I like and why I'm against a 2nd DLC course pass. The issue with the BCP is the quality of those courses not on par with base MK8 or even MK8 DLC on Wii U. If they're going for the next installment, I'd like to see those Tour ports enhanced and have better quality. These plastic and bland rock and grass textures makes me think that I'm playing Tour on console. Knowing Nintendo, they can't go back and revamp the quality of their DLCs like textures and models, only patching what's already there internally. Sure, they did change the cars in Coconut Mall, but it's because Coconut Mall cars were programmed to move around prior to Wave 2 update but weren't able to finish it on time. Even Smash Ultimate still have the inaccurate UIs to some characters (inaccurate as in it's not the same as the ingame models, take Luigi and Daisy's costumes for example). While the community wanted more since MK8D is basically an 8 year old Wii U game with DLCs and new characters and Battle Course, I don't think they'll do BCP 2 after the main BCP. Just because a game is on par with Smash in sales, doesn't always mean that they have to have the same amount of DLCs.
@@Miguel92398 Yea the textures are my main problem with this BCP. Not only are they not consistent with base 8 but are even inconsistent with each other. Even in the same wave the tracks are different levels. Rock Rock mountain and Merry mountain are good examples where Merry Mountain has rock textures Rock Rock Mountain's rocks have nothing but color.
@@Miguel92398 I totally agree and besides all the current DLC tracks dont even fit the MK8's graphics and gimmicks AND why GBA Sunset Wilds or DS's Waluigi Pinball werent faithful to the original like adding things that their iconic like the Sun from Sunset Wilds didnt set like the original or the sound effect when you go through the end of the track wasnt played at all.
Theory-- What if we get a Mario Kart Ultimate for the Switch 2 which includes every course made? In this case theyre currently remaking every course, using Tour models for most, thus why the courses look better each wave: theyre all being improved and improved for a future release. This would explain how a course like Piranha Plant Pipeline, and many fan favorites, didn't make it; theyre saving them for the new game. The BCP and Tour can act as a way to affectively make up for the high costs of making the game (buying the BCP now and full ultimate later would cost $85 -- more likely to pay for the BCP and then full game later instead of paying $85 all at once).
@Mannymations I mean I do think that a Mario Kart Ultimate is wishful thinking and my theory is out there, but I do think people would buy future installments so long as they incorporate new mechanics and courses
I don’t want this to happen because I hate that the Booster Course Pass even exists in the first place. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was a port of a game that already had DLC, and then it randomly got its own DLC _five years_ later.
Here is why I think there won’t be a BCP 2 because the original BCP is going to most likely end with Wii Rainbow Road and the Cup is literally a Blue Shell, if any other cup ended the BCP it will be Anticlimactic and I’m thinking why the reason they are adding all of those Retro Tracks into Tour Lately was because they were saving them for the next few Mario Kart Games

You are the first person that got me to think this is possible I never thought it would be a thing because one I feel like there would be way too many tracks in the game by that but if we’re just doing 6 cups that’s fine more than would be overwhelming. That’s why I originally didn’t think this would work. Another thing is I feel like we’re getting close to the next Consol and there will be a new Mario Kart soon. I think a BCP2 was likely, especially considering the increase in Tour content in 2023 between higher quality remakes and giving us non city nitros, but I think if it was happening, it would have been announced already.

Honestly would kill for this exact Booster Course Pass 2. Would bring back every track I loved that wasn’t in the original BCP. Iirc the only courses missing (besides different variants for SNES tracks and GBA Bowser’s Castles) which I think is fine to miss out are N64 Luigi Raceway, GBA Peach Circuit, 3DS Daisy Hills, 3DS Cheep Cheep Lagoon, 3DS Mario Circuit, and 3DS Rosalina’s Ice World.
Pretty solid predictions but I'd argue Nintendo wouldn't add RMX tracks. A bit on the nitpick side, the name convention of certain cups is incorrect, see? The Mushroom cup has a Super Mushroom or Dash Mushroom as the emblem, yet the cup isn't called "Super Mushroom cup" or "Dash Mushroom cup", it's just Mushroom cup, same for the Flower cup, it depicts a Fire Flower but it's not the "Fire Flower cup", you get the idea there? All cups follow this naming convention, short names without fully recalling the item that serves as the emblem. As such, the Mega Mushroom cup and Bullet Bill cup wouldn't be called that but rather the Mega cup and the Bullet cup, I also argue the Sunshine cup's name fits better as the Shine cup because that sun artifact was never called "Sunshine Sprite", as for the rest, they're fine.

If they end up doing another booster course pass, I feel like that's another decent sign this is the last Mario Kart before they do something like Nintendo Kart. Otherwise, it would make a lot more sense to just use the resources to add these tracks to the next Mario Kart.
I mean MK8 came out 9 Years ago. We hadn't had a full new console Mario Kart since. However we just got a DLC that DOUBLED the track count for MK8DX. This game is already getting way to big for the next game to keep up with that. Another DLC would make it even bigger. And I'm not saying that you are ungrateful. I am just saying that another BCP could potentionally hurt this franchise in the long run. And tbh, we don't really need every track in one game, do we?

@@MEVM_lp Mario Kart 8 Deluxe could have a second BCP, you would have a Mario Kart game with almost every track in the series. And then the next game could be Mario Kart Maker, you can make your own tracks. This would be on their next console So you have two games, one with every track and almost every character in the series, and one where you can make your own race tracks. This is a much better solution than trying to top 8DX, since now you have two completely different games that have endless replay value. One game with potentially 100+ tracks, and the other where you can make any track you want. Neither game would be stealing the other's spotlight, which is a good thing. Its kinda like NSMBUD and Super Mario Maker 2, both games sold incredibly well but both are completely different despite both being 2D Mario platformers.

I’m more on the side of I doubt we will see a BCP 2 especially if the rumours that are circulating are true about a new console coming next year, but I would still be more than happy with a BCP 2 and too see all the great tracks that didn’t make the first one😊
I really don't care for most of the tracks left, bar for Daisy Circuit, GCN Rainbow Road and a few others. I would rather have them dump all the Tour kart parts and characters into MK8DX and let me unlock them by playing the game. That would incentivise everyone to keep playing after the BCP is over.

Good idea for a vid, but a BCP 2 instead of an MK9 would be toxic for the future of mario kart. We're already flying too close to the sun as is. Adding more tracks would put us in Brultimate territory. Everything is bloated, unpolished, and there's seemingly nowhere to go from there. We desperately need an entirely new game at this point.
Same. I want wave 6 not because I want to play the new dlc tracks but to know that the DLC is finally over and we can hopefully move on to the next game. More DLC for this decade old game would be hell. The DLC and all these other updates made the game a mess tbh.
I'm not even sure if it's necessary, to be honest. Unless Nintendo has a secret plan to release a new console that can compete with the Steam Deck, I don’t see the point of making a Mario Kart 9. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe already looks beautiful on the Switch, and I doubt a new console would make a big difference in graphics or performance. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe also has a huge amount of content. By the end of the Booster Course Pass, it will have 96 tracks, which is more than any other Mario Kart game in history. If Nintendo made a Mario Kart 9, they would have to start from scratch and create and remake new tracks, characters, items, and features. They probably wouldn’t be able to include all the 96 tracks from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, so the new game would have less content. And why would you play a Mario Kart that has less content, when you can play the one with more content? That’s why I think Nintendo just ported Mario Kart 8 to Switch as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, instead of making a new game. They knew that Mario Kart 8 was already a masterpiece, and they just added some extra features and characters to make it even better. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is still one of the most popular games on Switch, even after 9 years since the original release of Mario Kart 8 on Wii U. That shows how good it is, and how much people love it. @@OmegaGlops Its been said that they have been working on a new console for some time now. Something about 4k graphics AI upscales and whatnot. The BCP seems more like something to tie us over to the next Mario Kart as well as milking the game dry in one go. I know the game isn't well liked but the new strikers game shows how good they can make their characters look late into the switch's lifetime. So if the next console is what Nintendo and leaks teased at it will stand strong with the steam deck. Mario Kart Super Circuit has more tracks DD, DS, Wii, 7, and base 8 deluxe showing they are perfectly fine with the next game having less tracks. Thinking business they know if Mario Kart Wii did said well and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe did even better, they would like to keep that trend.
Personally I think the reason that 3ds and N64 got so few courses in the BCP I'd because they realized the base game they oversaturated those games in Retro cups compared to others (Ex. N64 is the only game that had every retro cup have a course, while Super Circuit and the SNES had one each)
Yea to bad they said there done with mk8d though it would be cool if they went back in it and did another one that added other fan favs the only problem is it would make mk8d hard to top when they make the next game. Unless with the next game they just make all new courses for the game no repeats and maybe a different gimmick to make it stand out from 8 but yea it would be cool if they announced a second pass
The more I think about this, the more plausible it seems. I believe Smash Bros Ultimate did a similar thing with the fighters pass. I do really hope that they make this choice because I would love to see more of my favorite tracks like Toad's factory and Luigi's Mansion. Plus, considering that they're most likely adding Pauline and Diddy Kong as the last two racers, that means 4 veteran racers will still be absent (DK Junior, Rob, Funky Kong, and Honey Queen), so making another booster course pass would allow for every veteran racer to return.
If there is one, I would want the two wuhu tracks, Wii Daisy circuit, Wii bc, n64 bc, gba bc4, Wii toad’s factory, gba rainbow road, ds airship fortress, GCN mushroom city, GCN Dino Dino jungle, ds Luigi mansion, ds delfino square, 3ds Wario shipyard, snes ghost valley 3, snes vanilla lake 1&2 combined, gba lakeside park, GCN Wario colosseum, n64 banshee boardwalk, n64 Wario stadium, snes Koopa beach 1, a brand new bobomb battlefield track, a brand new super Mario galaxy track, and another new one. Not in a particular order.
i still don't think a bcp 2 will happen 96 courses for one mk game is more than enough, plus when you look at the remaining tracks that are available for a 2nd bcp there isn't nearly as wide a variety, making even just 3 waves feel sorta repetitive so yeah let's just stick with 96 courses and wait till mk10 to get our leftover favorites and not just cram them into mk8dx
I totally agree and besides those tracks where remake in previous retro tracks, so i rather haven them being reused in the extra tracks like all the DLC tracks in original Mario Kart 8's DLC tracks which where remade to fit their gimmick or engine.
I think a BCP 2 will happen because we need the remaining tracks to be brought in and having a little more than 100 tracks in one MK game would be legendary. Also I don’t think we’re getting a Mk10 (or 9) anytime soon, so let’s hope for a couple more courses to be added to MK8DX so we don’t have to wait forever for them to be remade in the next one.

I highly doubt it. After the BCP is done, I think its time for Nintendo to move on to other games and such and maybe a new Mario Kart game on a new console.
Alot of Potential Courses Had a chance especially Ones Remade in Tour. I also Thought most of these remakes where made for 8DX just by their looks and perhaps some objects where present from 8DX in Retro Remakes in Tour
They could have shoved all cup images in one screen when the first BCP released, so why should they change it for the second one? They will more likely just add one or two new rows underneath the old ones.
The alt version of the bullet bill cup has one of my favourite GBA tracks, my favourite 3ds track, my 2nd favourite ds track and my favourite track of the entire series, I will pay so much to play that cup

Next gen is around the corner, so 2024 is either mario kart 10, or MK8DXDX and the start of booster course 2, in my estimation. I hope for new characters and items to refresh the whole experience. Bowser shells and fake item boxes up front
I doubt it,because it would overshadow mariokart 10 and the next mariokart game would have a hard time to top mk8 deluxe. Also the courses left in tour aren't all good. Most of the tracks left are either snes or gba or rmx tracks.
I know 2 characters are coming, but with another row, I would include in total (8 new characters) Diddy Kong, Pauline, Mallow, Geno, Chargin' Chuck, Kirby and 2 new characters from SMB Wonder.
I probably won’t be surprised if the fan favorites get put in MK9. I really want Wuhu Loop, Rosalina’s Ice World, N64 Bowser Castle, Wii Daisy Circuit, N64 Frappe Snowland, any tracks related to Boo, DS Luigi Mansion, and any tracks related to Bowser and idc which ones.
As much as I wanted a BCP 2, now that we have wave 5, I am starting to realize just how much 96 tracks is for one game. I think I would prefer them to just bring back a lot of the courses in the next game. I wouldn't be too upset if they did more DLC, but at this point we are actually running dry on content for future games. Unless future games take a new route by having a LOT of new nitro courses. However if they do extra DLC, I think 2 more waves would be plenty. It would bring the total wave count to 8 (get it?) and 16 more courses would allow for them to bring back most, if not all the fan favorites in Tour that got glow-ups.
I liked the selections but they retain the main issue i had with the bcp. Whats with the lack of gcn tracks, warios coluseeum, bowsers castle and rainbow road are all heavy hitters from GCN that have never been remade, they are all challenging and unique to their name and yet never get chosen or are overshaddowed by retros that return essentially every game
None of them have shown up in Tour yet, so if this BCP2 were to happen they probably wouldn't be in it. However, I'm really hoping they show up as retros in MK9 eventually.
I would love if they added a retro booster pass for the second one and just add every retro course from the mainline games aka all of them except arcade and tour, then they could add a tour dlc or smthn. It would also be cool if all the maps we already have in 8 are brought into 9 and then added some more new ones and more retros
I really like the idea of having RMX tracks. It would continue the pattern Nintendo established in the BCP with the Tour city tracks, which makes it all the more fitting since the RMX tracks are essentially Tour tracks. Plus, it would heavily boost the SNES representation in 8DX, which had the least amount compared to every other game. Also, that mockup track selection screen you made would make for a great way to unify everything in a single screen. Sure, it would create a break in-between the Moon cup and Fruit cup in terms of difficulty, but then again it would also fix the weird break with the base tracks (currently, the Wii U dlc tracks follow a weird order that goes against the rows for the base Wii U tracks). Lastly, if I was Nintendo and saw the success of the BCP while knowing my next game is only releasing in a couple years, and all the meanwhile my userbase is ready to pay for more, then yeah it would be a no-brainer for me to release more easy-and-cheap-to-produce content, of which the assets are readily available, to milk out some more money out of my current game.
If they don’t make a BCP 2, in the next Mario Kart Game, they should name it “Mario Kart Ultimate” and have every Mario Kart Track from past consoles, plus the base games tracks.

I'm 50/50 with this idea but i think it could happen to keep us entertain while they work on the next console. I also would add the Wuhu Loop and Maka Wuhu Tracks as for the last 2 cups! Either way this concept is really good and I think Nintendo will probably add it! I saw another comment saying that maybe they are saving the fan favorites for the next game like, Wuhu Loop or DS Airship Fortress!
I’ve been so torn recently between wanting mk8dx to just die already and wanting another bcp. I just see all of the stuff tour gets and how easily it could be ported to mk8dx and get so frustrated.
I love the idea of a second booster course pass, but I can’t see Nintendo doing it. Nintendo wanted to preserve the tour **nitros** with the BCP and given the likelihood that Nintendo stops giving us new content past the 4th anniversary tour and thus only enough nitro content for 6 waves, I don’t expect Nintendo will go for a second booster course pass. They may do a booster character and kart pass to supplement the waves with even more content after the booster course pass is done, but I don’t see Nintendo adding another 24 tracks after the BCP, as much as I’d love for them to.
I see what you’re saying, although I’m not sure how much I agree. Personally, I think this game has been kept alive long enough. I suppose if a second pass was released I wouldn’t be outright disappointed, but I think deep down everyone wants a new console and a new title to go along with it. Good video though, you’ve got some pretty solid ideas!
We don’t know if the next Mario kart is coming to the next console next year( which I doubt is coming next year if it even exists). Nintendo is more likely to just port 8 deluxe to it because of how well it’s selling.

I don't think a 2nd BCP would happen cause it doesn't feel right to have more paid DLC tracks than base game tracks. Unless Nintendo made the 2nd BCP like a bonus DLC like Piranha Plant in Smash Bros. Now they could do a Character Pass and bring in some of the costumes from tour. That to me would feel like the best chance for more DLC for the game

When even TWD98 top Mario Kart Wii and MK8D player says he thinks more tracks should come, you know your in the wrong if you think a second pass wouldn't be amazing. Nintendo did something similar with fighter pass 1 and then when they saw how much it sold, they made and sold a fighter pass 2. Plus I don't feel like waiting till 2025-2026 to get more tracks and maybe even characters. Plus I would WAY rather buy a 20-30$ DLC then a $400-$500 dollar new system and $70 game for what is most likely not much of an upgrade other then even better graphics, which MK8D already has great graphics. I'm not saying a whole 6 more waves, but 3-4 waves with maybe new tracks, characters, and maybe even battle courses and items.
And thats exactly the problem, that I have with a 2nd BCP. If it were to come out, there is no chance that people would even consider buying the next Mario Kart or the Mario Kart after that. This would kill this franchise in the long run. And I don't want this franchise to be killed just for a few new tracks. I rather wait until the next Mario Kart and have those tracks be remade there. And WTF is this comparison with the Fighter Pass. I want you to take a second to think about, how many characters were in the Fighter Pass. Now think about how many tracks the 1. BCP already has. First of All the ONLY Difference from the Fighters Pass and Booster Course Pass Besides the games themselves is that the Booster Course Pass has bigger Quantities with what it offers. However even though I'm not a nintendo worker I can bet you money that smash ultimate characters took WAAAYYY more work than the waves in this pass. They port most of the tracks from tour even MK8 original tracks that weren't already in tour like Waluigi Stadium, Sky High Sundae, Yoshis Island while not made in tour. Wer emost definetly already MADE in tour ready to be released after the tracks were in MK8DX, safe to say even the "New Courses" are most likely made in tour first and then ported to MK8 with better textures, maybe skybox changes, etc. Now, while I'm sure it's not as easy as boom Ported. It is NO WHERE near what Sakurai did to make his characters for smash ultimate, so if we are comparing by the amount of work for each, their not comparable at all, but in the wrong way. MK8DX DLC was most likely easier to port from tour and touch up to fit 8DX's aesthetic. Compared to spending upwards of like 5 months on creating ONE Character. And you might say "Well it takes nintendo "3 sometimes 4-5 months to release waves." I'm sorry. But it's the marketing that keeps it from being released within a smaller time frame it takes them in reality most likely what 2 months to port those tracks over and they could EASILY release it sooner, but no the higher ups have a release date scheduled and even though it's finished before then, they HAVE to wait until the realeas date which is typically 3-4 months between each at this point. 3. Yeah, I’m not holding my breath for a second Booster Course Pass. There’s tons of tracks in the franchise as a whole and they just can’t appease everyone. For every Airship Fortress hopeful, there’s probably someone hoping for Wuhu Loop or Maka Wuhu. The argument can be made, as well, these tracks being “designed for a second BCP” are just being designed differently as Tour goes on. Or heck, designed for a future installment. And they can always just… add more characters if they really wanted to add more than 6 new racers, I’m reasonably sure those weren’t part of the paid DLC, though here I could be wrong. Don’t get me wrong, though. If they did a second BCP, I’d be happy to buy in more. And you picked some solid tracks. I just think you could’ve made this video without justifying why a second one “WILL” happen, since the evidence provided is not very convincing.

Biggest losses for the original BCP were definitely Airship Fortress, Dry Dry Ruins, GBA Luigi Circuit and BC4. Hopefully all these tracks can be in a BCP 2 or potentially the next game

When MKT was created, the devs knew what they were getting into, they knew that, at worst, one days those assets would be lost, just like EVERY MOBILE GAME. And, at best, once tour dies, those tracks could still be playable offline.
Saying that the BCP was created only to preserve the tour tracks is wrong since, by aknowledging this, people forget the whole point of this pass !!! No, not preserve the Tour tracks, but MILK MK8DX. When tour was created, they had NO IDEA Mk8dx would keep selling so well, they realised that afterward. For fuck sake they even said so in an interview !!!!!! It's just like people saying that Tour is dependant of the BCP when it comes to the content it gets. It's not the case and it has never been. Just becajse a track gets an awesome remake in tour doesn't mean "ho they surely had 8dx in mind when making this one" !
Now, maybe that their vision has changed, which is likely. Even if the bcp was first meant to milk MK8, they surely though that adding tour would not only make a good buying argument, but also make the track's preservation easyer. But NEVER was that the main goal of the bcp. If the tour tracks were ported in the first place, it was to make their work easier and faster, on top of porting Tour's exclusive track to console, making their adaptation in future entry easier (aka the lazy method, which they are thankfully working to improove).
Allow me to give you a final explanation by taking things into order : Tour is created --> The devs know that their assets will be lost one day --> MK8 keeps selling like hot cake --> They decide to port the tour tracks to make easy money with MK8dx playerbase.
If you consider that the devs knew they would use mk8dx to preserve the Tour tracks, you aknowledge that they knew that in the future, MK8dx sales wouldn't go down, and that they could use it to their advantage. Do people even realise how WRONG that statement is ?!?
I'm really sorry for sounding harsh. This is by no mean dirrected at you specifically, but I'm just tired of people saying "BCP was created to preserve the Tour tracks". This is straight up wrong. And if they really did that for preservation, then in that sense, Nintendo would also have to add every Battle map, Karts parts, Characters AND Costumes to 8dx, which is simply not possible.
We’re getting pretty late into the Switch 1’s life, so they’re likely moving on to the Switch 2 & Mario Kart 10 by next year for at least the former. Maybe the additional Tour assets will be a base for the next Mario Kart.

They could easily just be saving the fan favorites for the next game. Nintendo will be making a new console which will most likely be by 2024-25. Instead of making new models for said tracks they could just up the poly count add new textures and lighting for the tour ones. They are more so experimenting on how good they can make them look in 8 though I do think they have been working on the said next game for a long time.

I'm kinda torn when it comes to when the next console will come out. On the one hand, we are starting to reach a point where the hardware is becoming very outdated and previous consoles typically came out every 5-6 years.
But on the other hand, the Switch's install base is REALLY good when compared to how many consoles have been sold, so I honestly could see Nintendo milking the Switch for as long as they can.
I will say though, if we have to way 2+ years after the Booster Course Pass for a new Mario Kart game regardless of if we get a second Booster Course Pass, then I'm honestly down for a second Booster Course Pass.
That's what I like and why I'm against a 2nd DLC course pass. The issue with the BCP is the quality of those courses not on par with base MK8 or even MK8 DLC on Wii U. If they're going for the next installment, I'd like to see those Tour ports enhanced and have better quality. These plastic and bland rock and grass textures makes me think that I'm playing Tour on console.
Knowing Nintendo, they can't go back and revamp the quality of their DLCs like textures and models, only patching what's already there internally. Sure, they did change the cars in Coconut Mall, but it's because Coconut Mall cars were programmed to move around prior to Wave 2 update but weren't able to finish it on time. Even Smash Ultimate still have the inaccurate UIs to some characters (inaccurate as in it's not the same as the ingame models, take Luigi and Daisy's costumes for example).
While the community wanted more since MK8D is basically an 8 year old Wii U game with DLCs and new characters and Battle Course, I don't think they'll do BCP 2 after the main BCP. Just because a game is on par with Smash in sales, doesn't always mean that they have to have the same amount of DLCs.
@@Miguel92398 Yea the textures are my main problem with this BCP. Not only are they not consistent with base 8 but are even inconsistent with each other. Even in the same wave the tracks are different levels. Rock Rock mountain and Merry mountain are good examples where Merry Mountain has rock textures Rock Rock Mountain's rocks have nothing but color.

Theory-- What if we get a Mario Kart Ultimate for the Switch 2 which includes every course made? In this case theyre currently remaking every course, using Tour models for most, thus why the courses look better each wave: theyre all being improved and improved for a future release. This would explain how a course like Piranha Plant Pipeline, and many fan favorites, didn't make it; theyre saving them for the new game. The BCP and Tour can act as a way to affectively make up for the high costs of making the game (buying the BCP now and full ultimate later would cost $85 -- more likely to pay for the BCP and then full game later instead of paying $85 all at once).

Pretty solid predictions but I'd argue Nintendo wouldn't add RMX tracks. A bit on the nitpick side, the name convention of certain cups is incorrect, see? The Mushroom cup has a Super Mushroom or Dash Mushroom as the emblem, yet the cup isn't called "Super Mushroom cup" or "Dash Mushroom cup", it's just Mushroom cup, same for the Flower cup, it depicts a Fire Flower but it's not the "Fire Flower cup", you get the idea there? All cups follow this naming convention, short names without fully recalling the item that serves as the emblem. As such, the Mega Mushroom cup and Bullet Bill cup wouldn't be called that but rather the Mega cup and the Bullet cup, I also argue the Sunshine cup's name fits better as the Shine cup because that sun artifact was never called "Sunshine Sprite", as for the rest, they're fine.

If they end up doing another booster course pass, I feel like that's another decent sign this is the last Mario Kart before they do something like Nintendo Kart. Otherwise, it would make a lot more sense to just use the resources to add these tracks to the next Mario Kart.

This is a much better solution than trying to top 8DX, since now you have two completely different games that have endless replay value. One game with potentially 100+ tracks, and the other where you can make any track you want. Neither game would be stealing the other's spotlight, which is a good thing. Its kinda like NSMBUD and Super Mario Maker 2, both games sold incredibly well but both are completely different despite both being 2D Mario platformers.
I kinda believe its happing bc look at the cup rings. the base game cups have a golden backgr,the bcp cups have a silver backgr but there are no bronze cups so possibly theyre coming next

I’m more on the side of I doubt we will see a BCP 2 especially if the rumours that are circulating are true about a new console coming next year, but I would still be more than happy with a BCP 2 and too see all the great tracks that didn’t make the first one😊
I really don't care for most of the tracks left, bar for Daisy Circuit, GCN Rainbow Road and a few others. I would rather have them dump all the Tour kart parts and characters into MK8DX and let me unlock them by playing the game. That would incentivise everyone to keep playing after the BCP is over.

Good idea for a vid, but a BCP 2 instead of an MK9 would be toxic for the future of mario kart. We're already flying too close to the sun as is. Adding more tracks would put us in Brultimate territory. Everything is bloated, unpolished, and there's seemingly nowhere to go from there. We desperately need an entirely new game at this point.
I really don’t believe we’re getting a new game anytime soon. A BCP 2 makes more sense than starting over from scratch.

I'm not even sure if it's necessary, to be honest. Unless Nintendo has a secret plan to release a new console that can compete with the Steam Deck, I don’t see the point of making a Mario Kart 9. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe already looks beautiful on the Switch, and I doubt a new console would make a big difference in graphics or performance.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe also has a huge amount of content. By the end of the Booster Course Pass, it will have 96 tracks, which is more than any other Mario Kart game in history. If Nintendo made a Mario Kart 9, they would have to start from scratch and create and remake new tracks, characters, items, and features. They probably wouldn’t be able to include all the 96 tracks from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, so the new game would have less content. And why would you play a Mario Kart that has less content, when you can play the one with more content?
That’s why I think Nintendo just ported Mario Kart 8 to Switch as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, instead of making a new game. They knew that Mario Kart 8 was already a masterpiece, and they just added some extra features and characters to make it even better. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is still one of the most popular games on Switch, even after 9 years since the original release of Mario Kart 8 on Wii U. That shows how good it is, and how much people love it.

@@OmegaGlops Its been said that they have been working on a new console for some time now. Something about 4k graphics AI upscales and whatnot. The BCP seems more like something to tie us over to the next Mario Kart as well as milking the game dry in one go. I know the game isn't well liked but the new strikers game shows how good they can make their characters look late into the switch's lifetime. So if the next console is what Nintendo and leaks teased at it will stand strong with the steam deck.
Mario Kart Super Circuit has more tracks DD, DS, Wii, 7, and base 8 deluxe showing they are perfectly fine with the next game having less tracks. Thinking business they know if Mario Kart Wii did said well and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe did even better, they would like to keep that trend.
Personally I think the reason that 3ds and N64 got so few courses in the BCP I'd because they realized the base game they oversaturated those games in Retro cups compared to others (Ex. N64 is the only game that had every retro cup have a course, while Super Circuit and the SNES had one each)
Yea to bad they said there done with mk8d though it would be cool if they went back in it and did another one that added other fan favs the only problem is it would make mk8d hard to top when they make the next game. The more I think about this, the more plausible it seems. I believe Smash Bros Ultimate did a similar thing with the fighters pass. I do really hope that they make this choice because I would love to see more of my favorite tracks like Toad's factory and Luigi's Mansion. Plus, considering that they're most likely adding Pauline and Diddy Kong as the last two racers, that means 4 veteran racers will still be absent (DK Junior, Rob, Funky Kong, and Honey Queen), so making another booster course pass would allow for every veteran racer to return.
If there is one, I would want the two wuhu tracks, Wii Daisy circuit, Wii bc, n64 bc, gba bc4, Wii toad’s factory, gba rainbow road, ds airship fortress, GCN mushroom city, GCN Dino Dino jungle, ds Luigi mansion, ds delfino square, 3ds Wario shipyard, snes ghost valley 3, snes vanilla lake 1&2 combined, gba lakeside park, GCN Wario colosseum, n64 banshee boardwalk, n64 Wario stadium, snes Koopa beach 1, a brand new bobomb battlefield track, a brand new super Mario galaxy track, and another new one. Not in a particular order.

96 courses for one mk game is more than enough, plus when you look at the remaining tracks that are available for a 2nd bcp there isn't nearly as wide a variety, making even just 3 waves feel sorta repetitive
so yeah let's just stick with 96 courses and wait till mk10 to get our leftover favorites and not just cram them into mk8dx
I totally agree and besides those tracks where remake in previous retro tracks, so i rather haven them being reused in the extra tracks like all the DLC tracks in original Mario Kart 8's DLC tracks which where remade to fit their gimmick or engine.
I think a BCP 2 will happen because we need the remaining tracks to be brought in and having a little more than 100 tracks in one MK game would be legendary. Also I don’t think we’re getting a Mk10 (or 9) anytime soon, so let’s hope for a couple more courses to be added to MK8DX so we don’t have to wait forever for them to be remade in the next one.

Next gen is around the corner, so 2024 is either mario kart 10, or MK8DXDX and the start of booster course 2, in my estimation. I hope for new characters and items to refresh the whole experience. Bowser shells and fake item boxes up front
I doubt it,because it would overshadow mariokart 10 and the next mariokart game would have a hard time to top mk8 deluxe. Also the courses left in tour aren't all good. Most of the tracks left are either snes or gba or rmx tracks.

I know 2 characters are coming, but with another row, I would include in total (8 new characters) Diddy Kong, Pauline, Mallow, Geno, Chargin' Chuck, Kirby and 2 new characters from SMB Wonder.
I probably won’t be surprised if the fan favorites get put in MK9. I really want Wuhu Loop, Rosalina’s Ice World, N64 Bowser Castle, Wii Daisy Circuit, N64 Frappe Snowland, any tracks related to Boo, DS Luigi Mansion, and any tracks related to Bowser and idc which ones.
As much as I wanted a BCP 2, now that we have wave 5, I am starting to realize just how much 96 tracks is for one game. I think I would prefer them to just bring back a lot of the courses in the next game. I wouldn't be too upset if they did more DLC, but at this point we are actually running dry on content for future games. Unless future games take a new route by having a LOT of new nitro courses. However if they do extra DLC, I think 2 more waves would be plenty. It would bring the total wave count to 8 (get it?) and 16 more courses would allow for them to bring back most, if not all the fan favorites in Tour that got glow-ups.
I'd say a Booster Course Pass 2 is inevitable.
I liked the selections but they retain the main issue i had with the bcp. Whats with the lack of gcn tracks, warios coluseeum, bowsers castle and rainbow road are all heavy hitters from GCN that have never been remade, they are all challenging and unique to their name and yet never get chosen or are overshaddowed by retros that return essentially every game
None of them have shown up in Tour yet, so if this BCP2 were to happen they probably wouldn't be in it. However, I'm really hoping they show up as retros in MK9 eventually.
I would love if they added a retro booster pass for the second one and just add every retro course from the mainline games aka all of them except arcade and tour, then they could add a tour dlc or smthn. It would also be cool if all the maps we already have in 8 are brought into 9 and then added some more new ones and more retros

I really like the idea of having RMX tracks. It would continue the pattern Nintendo established in the BCP with the Tour city tracks, which makes it all the more fitting since the RMX tracks are essentially Tour tracks.
Plus, it would heavily boost the SNES representation in 8DX, which had the least amount compared to every other game.
Also, that mockup track selection screen you made would make for a great way to unify everything in a single screen. Sure, it would create a break in-between the Moon cup and Fruit cup in terms of difficulty, but then again it would also fix the weird break with the base tracks (currently, the Wii U dlc tracks follow a weird order that goes against the rows for the base Wii U tracks).
Lastly, if I was Nintendo and saw the success of the BCP while knowing my next game is only releasing in a couple years, and all the meanwhile my userbase is ready to pay for more, then yeah it would be a no-brainer for me to release more easy-and-cheap-to-produce content, of which the assets are readily available, to milk out some more money out of my current game.

I love the idea of a second booster course pass, but I can’t see Nintendo doing it.
Nintendo wanted to preserve the tour **nitros** with the BCP and given the likelihood that Nintendo stops giving us new content past the 4th anniversary tour and thus only enough nitro content for 6 waves, I don’t expect Nintendo will go for a second booster course pass. They may do a booster character and kart pass to supplement the waves with even more content after the booster course pass is done, but I don’t see Nintendo adding another 24 tracks after the BCP, as much as I’d love for them to.
As much as several of us want it, the next game could be upon us. I won’t guarantee it, but it is possible.
I see what you’re saying, although I’m not sure how much I agree. Personally, I think this game has been kept alive long enough. I suppose if a second pass was released I wouldn’t be outright disappointed, but I think deep down everyone wants a new console and a new title to go along with it. The reason Moonview is there was because that image was made before wave 5, as I mentioned earlier in the video I stated that those “alternate versions” were made a few months back. Sorry for the confusion!

I think for this concept the RMX should be like the city tracks and start each cup, also I think is the RMX tracks get in the SNES track should not be included. Idk thats just my opinion. Good Video
I don't think a 2nd BCP would happen cause it doesn't feel right to have more paid DLC tracks than base game tracks. Unless Nintendo made the 2nd BCP like a bonus DLC like Piranha Plant in Smash Bros. Now they could do a Character Pass and bring in some of the costumes from tour. That to me would feel like the best chance for more DLC for the game

They added the rmx version of GBA BC and not SNES because SNES BC3 wasn't in tour yet

I Saw you made a mistake for your alternate version of the thundercloud cup you placed Moonview Highway there which was ALREADY IN WAVE 5.
When even TWD98 top Mario Kart Wii and MK8D player says he thinks more tracks should come, you know your in the wrong if you think a second pass wouldn't be amazing. Nintendo did something similar with fighter pass 1 and then when they saw how much it sold, they made and sold a fighter pass 2. Plus I don't feel like waiting till 2025-2026 to get more tracks and maybe even characters. Plus I would WAY rather buy a 20-30$ DLC then a $400-$500 dollar new system and $70 game for what is most likely not much of an upgrade other then even better graphics, which MK8D already has great graphics. I'm not saying a whole 6 more waves, but 3-4 waves with maybe new tracks, characters, and maybe even battle courses and items.
And thats exactly the problem, that I have with a 2nd BCP. If it were to come out, there is no chance that people would even consider buying the next Mario Kart or the Mario Kart after that. This would kill this franchise in the long run. And I don't want this franchise to be killed just for a few new tracks. I rather wait until the next Mario Kart and have those tracks be remade there.
And WTF is this comparison with the Fighter Pass. I want you to take a second to think about, how many characters were in the Fighter Pass. Now think about how many tracks the 1. BCP already has. Not really comparable, is it?

1. Summerizing your statement down into one sentence, your argument is "A BCP2 would ruin the Mario Kart Franchise" because I presume you believe there'd be no reason for a Mario kart 9 or 10? Brother. Whether a BCP2 is released or not saying "The Franchise will be ruined" is a bit over dramatic. Like come on dude. I get what you're saying, but adding 3-4 more waves of tracks even with characters or especially without them. Isn't going to kill off hype for an MK9. Trust me, even if we get a wave 7-10 or 7-11 meaning like 3 or 4 waves. Even after those release people will crave an MK9. We are talking Nintendo Fans They will buy ANYTHING. I highly doubt if a booster course pass2 comes out they will say "Ah you know what fuck Mario Kart 9 we have Mario kart 8 Deluxe DLC 2 now." That's not hiw peoples brains operate. People would still be hyped for MK9 if it was announced shortly after a booster course pass 2.
2. The fighters pass and Booster course Pass are more alike than you think. It took MONTHS for Sakurai to release characters, just like it's taking MONTHS for Booster Course Pass Waves to Release. First of All the ONLY Difference from the Fighters Pass and Booster Course Pass Besides the games themselves is that the Booster Course Pass has bigger Quantities with what it offers. However even though I'm not a nintendo worker I can bet you money that smash ultimate characters took WAAAYYY more work than the waves in this pass. They port most of the tracks from tour even MK8 original tracks that weren't already in tour like Waluigi Stadium, Sky High Sundae, Yoshis Island while not made in tour. Wer emost definetly already MADE in tour ready to be released after the tracks were in MK8DX, safe to say even the "New Courses" are most likely made in tour first and then ported to MK8 with better textures, maybe skybox changes, etc. Now, while I'm sure it's not as easy as boom Ported. It is NO WHERE near what Sakurai did to make his characters for smash ultimate, so if we are comparing by the amount of work for each, their not comparable at all, but in the wrong way. MK8DX DLC was most likely easier to port from tour and touch up to fit 8DX's aesthetic. Compared to spending upwards of like 5 months on creating ONE Character. And you might say "Well it takes nintendo "3 sometimes 4-5 months to release waves." I'm sorry. But it's the marketing that keeps it from being released within a smaller time frame it takes them in reality most likely what 2 months to port those tracks over and they could EASILY release it sooner, but no the higher ups have a release date scheduled and even though it's finished before then, they HAVE to wait until the realeas date which is typically 3-4 months between each at this point.
3. Last point your valid on. Shocker. Yes I'm not saying because Troy or TWD98 thinks it should happen that it WILL happen. I'm saying he is a well profound Mario Kart Creator if not the most profound. He thinks they should have another one, and yes I stand by the fact I agree. They have NO reason not to. But I'm not saying it will happen because TWD98 said he wants it to happen
Basing an opinion on a pro player is stupid. Smash and Mario kart have two entirely different styles of DLC and they arent even remotely comparable.

Yeah, I’m not holding my breath for a second Booster Course Pass. There’s tons of tracks in the franchise as a whole and they just can’t appease everyone. For every Airship Fortress hopeful, there’s probably someone hoping for Wuhu Loop or Maka Wuhu. The argument can be made, as well, these tracks being “designed for a second BCP” are just being designed differently as Tour goes on. Or heck, designed for a future installment. And they can always just… add more characters if they really wanted to add more than 6 new racers, I’m reasonably sure those weren’t part of the paid DLC, though here I could be wrong.
Don’t get me wrong, though. If they did a second BCP, I’d be happy to buy in more. And you picked some solid tracks. I just think you could’ve made this video without justifying why a second one “WILL” happen, since the evidence provided is not very convincing.
