This is one of the most interesting street photography video ive seen in ages. Thanks for doing this!
Glad that you’re back!
'a photographer who does a bit of TH-cam, not a TH-camr who does a bit of photography' Remarkably, the TH-camrs who do a bit of photography seem to know just about everything about photography, experts without a serious product. Anyway Nt, glad to see another video!
Well you know what I mean, being successful on TH-cam is not really my end goal ;-)
@@streetphotographywithnickt1648 Damn, that probably means that you are not going to promote Nick Turpin's Street Photographer Walking Shoes that match your Nick Turpin Camera Strap...
Very informative Nick, thanks for taking the time to upload it.
Yes! I have been looking forward to new content.
finally back, always fine following your work!
Thanks Nick, really enjoyed this video, taking us along for the ride and through your thoughts. Very interesting. Cheers.
Nice to see you're back
The part where you said “the council had done some crazy shit here on the cycles lines” made me laugh!
It’s interesting to watch how you work and process a scene. I find myself working in a very similar style when theses little going on here along the seafront.. for this time of year, this is definitely the style of street photography I have to adopt. - less reactive and more constructive.
Great idea to get out of London to produce this too! I’d be very interested to see how you would work in an almost completely rural environment.
Great stuff, looking forward to seeing more when you have the time.
I see so much photos of the city. Thanks for this video.
great and very inspiring, thank you for looking at your wonderful work!
I liked the video. It is always good to see a good behind the scenes. I also like that you share your thinking process. No many people do that. I hope you have got time to post more often ;D
Thanks Alvaro 🙏🏻
I'm a beginner street photographer and I must say that your TH-cam content is the most useful you can find around here along with Sean Tucker's. I sincerely love it, and I hope you keep your channel going on for a long time.
Thanks Aitor, I'm a fan of Seans too :-)
@@streetphotographywithnickt1648 I can relate! Have a great night Nick
Yeah this channel is great! Also check out samuel street life he has a lot of very fun videos about street photography aswell.
@@photomorti oh yeah, failed to mention him, which is pretty bad on me because he's a very nice guy who also directed me to Nick's work.
Hey Nick! Happy to see you back. Those urban lines and shapes and shadows were just delirious. You got a few great shots there, really enjoyed watching.
Thanks, sorry for the absence. Delighted you enjoyed the video.
🙏🏻
love your work! very clear and useful
greeting from Portugal
Thank you nick.
Excellent stuff again. A lesson for us all, just get out and do it.
great stuff Nick, #inspiring
Enjoyed that vid Nick.. some very cool modern spots! loved the last pic of the girl with the one pink leg haha
Thank you Gareth, its always a challenge to get a few reasonable shots when you’re out filming as well, as you know. Croydon is certainly changing quickly and I was hoping to reflect a bit of that as well.
Hi Nick - Thanks for your practical approach to showing us your ways of using the camera in different real-life situations. Being a Fuji X-Series camera owner myself (X-E3 w/ the XF 23mm F2), I especially like seeing through your viewfinder. Would it be possible to discuss some of the reasons for your combination of settings near the end of each video once you've seen the viewfinder playback yourself examining different shooting situations (like the -1/3 stop setting in your Exposure Compensation in what looks like "average" lighting)?
In this particular shooting situation, what are the resulting ISO settings on most of these images. That is one thing that bugs me about setting your camera to AUTO ISO - it simply only displays the top setting and which of the 3 custom ISO is active? Thanks :)
2021 but again watch ❤️
Thank you. Hope you share more real soon.
Truly enjoyed watching this video...would love to see how you organise your pictures during the editing process considering you shoot quite a few images of the same scene..
Come on, Nick, I'm working now, I'm so happy you came back but I have to wait about 4 hours to enjoy this!!!
Lol sorry Frank, it’ll still be here :-)
@@streetphotographywithnickt1648 Amazing video as always, Nick, so rich in ideas, practical advise and inspiration. I'll take to the street the searching for places with potential, being prepared for changes in the scene and
the photographic optimism and patience. Keep it coming, Nick. Huge thanks.
Thanks Nick! Do you ever get the urge to throw in a shot or two with some motion blur in a foreground layer (e.g. a passer by)? I saw you have some motion blur in some of your website portfolio. Is there a quick way you know of to switch the Fuji to such a mode (and back again) - maybe a shortcut button you can assign to force 1/8th second while pressed? Guessing there are many ways to do it, but interested to know if I missed something. Thanks
Street photography in a suburban hospital...nae filming and drive NT. Good to see you back.
If Top Gear can do it...... ;-)
Hi Nick. How wide do you recommend setting the single point focus ? regards Ken
Hey Nick! Please tell me ho do you record like we are looking at the lcd? I want to record my street photography too. Thank you!
How do you use comp in manual
with the X100f?
Thanks for the videos.
Was very interesting to see how you build a scene. I'm always a bit sceptical about pushing my Fuji to ISO3200 but you made me want to try now :) Cheers mate, hope to see you around!
Thanks Fabien, just to clarify the iso situation, I have it set to Auto with a maximum of 3200. The shots are rarely exposed at that. The camera shows me the maximum rather than the actual iso being used in each situation.
@@streetphotographywithnickt1648 fair enough, makes sense as my Fuji does the same :D.
I have Auto set to 1600 max but I'll give it a try ;)
Is there not noise at 3200 with Fuji 100? If you apply a noise reduction , the result that you obtain is not some pastel painting like? I have a Canon 6D and I just can't shoot at 3200 without apply a strong noise reduction that undefine the scene as a final result.
Great video thank Nick. May I ask why your are using ISO3200 in daylight ? Isn't it a bit high ?
I’m using auto ISO so 3200 is the highest I allow the camera to go to.
Most shots are much less that that.
Hi Nick Very good to see you back. I'd like to know how you film and take pictures at the same time.
Watched your X100F set-up and now this one. Do you use burst or do you just have a fast finger? You did ref spray and pray.
I do use burst when things are unfolding quickly, I spend a lot of time, watching and walking taking no pictures but when things are coming together I use continuous firing.
interesting... thanks for sharing your thoughts whilst shooting...

Hi Nick. A very interesting vídeo and place.
I don't know how safe it is, but would you ever do a night street photography vídeo in the future?
That’s a nice idea, both my On the Night Bus and AUTOS series were shot at night and I quite like working in the dark city. I’ll add it to the list.
You are using back button focus correct? Love your videos brother.
Yes, AF-S set and back button focus. Its the only way to really control focus out there.
Street Photography with Nick Turpin appreciate the quick response.
What sunglasses are you wearing? They look great.
Corb lol that’s a slightly different question :-)
My girlfriend is an Instagram stylist and gets sent a lot of accessories, I stole these unisex sunglasses from her, they are by Komono and I like them very much to.
What do you use to capture your camera viewpoint directly?
I have the same question.
I’m so shy to ask this question. Thanks for asking
Fernando L Dávila I don’t think nick is going to respond but Matt Granger has a great video on how to do it here th-cam.com/video/MGrxJX1Xjho/w-d-xo.html
Abderrahman Amazzal I don’t think nick is going to respond but Matt Granger has a great video on how to do it here th-cam.com/video/MGrxJX1Xjho/w-d-xo.html
@@BeatsAndGuitars شكرا
Wai Lam brought me here..and I stayed.
Welcome and thank you Wai Lam :-)
Thanks God for burst mode.
Lots of ‘nice’ things but no explanation of why they are ‘nice’ ...that would help greatly I think....
