    Funny story, when I was 8 years old my father and I would watch him on the Poter Waggoner show when he was on... I told my father that I was going to marry him when I grew up. My father said I had better learn how to play the mandolin. I said NO I’ll play the banjo he can play the mandolin! So for Christmas Dad got me a banjo lol true story... still in love lol

      Well said, I grew up listening to Johnny Cash,Marty Robbins, Hank Williams, to name a few,all on vinyl. I watched the history in the making on The Johnny Cash Show,The Glen Campbell Show and let's not forget Hee Haw and others.Now ,with the internet,I can reach back in time and relive those fabulous hours that I love .Marty is Country Music!

    @workinprogress82 You're welcome! I think Marty is one of the few remaining links to the past, and especially to Johnny's music. I think Marty and Hank Williams III are one of the few people who keep country real.

    Don't know if "Folsom Prison Blues" was his first released song but judging from what I heard, when you get right down to it, this song here brings Johnny Cash's music full circle.

    Cash died on the same day that Marty's grandma Stuart was born,exactly 101 years apart.
