Man I tell you what my sunflowers sure were blowin around. My only corn thank goodness was too small to blow over. All I gotta do is make sure my watermelon don't drown. They should be alright. My soil drains pretty good. Just passed about an hour ago.

Oh my!!! The Old Goat has flipped out over the beautiful flowers behind Mama Hoss. I have some Sunspot sunflower seeds and I need to get them planted this week (I'm way behind on a lot of garden stuff this year). We have less space than normal as we are slowly pulling out the old wooden beds and putting in the 17" high metal beds. So we have about 1/2 the space during the transition. Slow work for us old folks. Putting together 8 beds is not that hard, but filling them is another story! And let Mama Hoss know it's all good, an inch is as good as a foot to most of us!

Great info on sunflowers, will have to expand I’ve only grown black oil sunflower’s mostly for seed for poultry.

I really enjoy watching Row by Row 😊 even though we're different zones (I'm 6b), you do a great job helping out all the zones. I keep thinking old goat is in the the flowers by Mama Hoss, but having a hard time seeing him! I even made the screen big to look 😂
We just had a bad storm with 70-80mph winds here in Houston. Watch us on the news. I have 1 out of several sunflowers that the wind blew over. That old goat is tough this week. I think he got tangled in something toward the bottom of that flower arrangement.
I have never had an onion harvest like this year!

Greetings from steamy Tampa Bay FL. Yep, been experiencing some more than usual bug issues already. Believe it or not, white flies already being a bother. I see the Old Goat behind Mama Hoss in the silver can on shelf.

I'm glad I'm down here in central Texas. Every time y'all turn around, y'all got mold and diseases. It's rare for us to get fungus and moisture borne disease. But y'all get more rain than we do.

Mardi Gras rock. Fell in love with sunflowers in the garden about 20 years ago. Fell in love with Mardi gras dwarf sunflowers last year from you guys and you didn’t carry them this year. I had to purchase the seed from another company, and the germination was HORRIBLE. Pro Cut. Gold lite is a variety that I also fell in love last year
You can make Sun butter with sunflower seeds, too.

I should send you guys the pictures of my Hoss garden. My Hossinator tomatoes are loaded with small fruit and blooms, I see mater sandwiches in my future. They are all in raised beds and the heirloom indeterminate tomatoes are in ground. I'm concerned about the rain (of which I'm thankful) will speed up the demise of the heirloom tomatoes. I'm pruning the bottom leaves, next week is supposed to be hot so we will be in a sauna here in southeast Alabama.
I watch the show twice because I was looking for the old gray goat and I didn’t get a clear look at him anywhere so I’m gonna say in the cut flowers where Gladiola are

I had a hard time getting any of my peppers to germinate this year. Tried twice and still couldn't get them to germinate. I had to buy some pepper plants. First time I had a problem. I did have a good onion harvest this year! Love HOSS seeds. My sunflowers haven't done well this year either. I will try and grow some more. Everything else is going like gangbusters. My sunflowers grow right where the seed falls. Under my bird feeder. Had some really nice ones last year. Not sure of the variety.
I just wanted my green house a bit ago and to my surprise I got two sweet potatoes growing slips . And I didn’t even plant them . But last year I did plant a few for my slips and just left them because I had enough. Y’all I had sweet potatoes in the fall when I went to pull all those vines . One of them was Hugh and these guys grow from the slips . So evidently I missed two because they got slips . And what’s even more strange that bed was dry as a bone . So I wanted them to.
10:48 I only buy seeds from reputable sources, so you all get some blue sunflowers and grow them, and I'll be your first customer!! Idk if they are real, I have never seen am entire plant, only the dyed or sprayed ones for cut flowers!

Maybe you can answer a ? for me.if seems I can grow onion seeds but when I go to plant them in the ground they are tiny that that seem to disintegrate so somewhere. They just don't make it this year I planted them and it rained very hard and they were all gone, drowned I think. I'm in 5b Omaha Nebraska. Thank yo Nancy from Nebraska.
Make sure your transplants are big enough. Also try hardening off the plants before transplanting.
Squirrels decapitate our sunflowers! I've seen them gnaw the stem near the flower, run away with the flower heads, and we're left with nothing but stems.
