"Making The Brand: The business of starting a clothing line from the ground up"

There are so many new brands coming on the scene everyday. But the question is how many of them will actually survive as long as some of the brands we've come to know and love over the years. Many of these new brands won't make it past 5 years. Lets discuss why.
EP.46 Making The Brand (MTB) is a video series explaining how to properly start a clothing business from concept to product and everything in between, inevitably helping you to go from clothing line to clothing brand.

Rob…….brou you are a GOLD MINE. I am sooooo glad I found your channel and I found your book on Amazon and planning on buying it. But check it, you talked woman’s wear, licensing I’m on it for real. I did research on it and it’s something I want to do, thing for me is I’m still starting up, and don’t have any spare funds to do anything. So how do I get the attention of licensing agent ? Great video! you have confirmed EVERYTHING I have read about and looked into and thought about.

Thank you fam for your support. I'm so glad you find my video a source of reference to help you. Even if you don't have money to start anything right away you should still work on developing your ideas as if you do. The licensing part is something that can be approached a few different ways. But thats stuff I can discuss in a consultation. I can only give up so much info for free. 😊

Back then our people didn't care about a message. If a celebrity or someone whose popular were it they did too. How many Black people knew the history of Ralph Lauren? maybe 0.01%. But they still wore it.

A lot of the young youth that created these brands has no identity, but unfortunately, their generation will eventually phase out into a different direction

@planetbrooklynacademy Thats awesome! I graduated in 96, worked briefly in fashion industry, ended up in corporate job in WallStreet, became a therapist and at this stage fulfilling a dream and opening a tiny boutique and gift store with my teen son...mostly for fun but with wisdom to have a strong foundation for success.

@@csjohns173 We were at FIT The same time. I graduated in 94. Now licensing isn’t going to be easy to do if you haven’t established a brand or some sort of a name in the market. You have to have proof that what you have is viable to that market first.

your videos are not SEO-friendly. you must do video SEO to get good results. SEO increases views, If you can increase the views, you will be able to advance your channel a lot. what is the benefit of making a video so hard? If views, likes, subscribers are not? So I say, first organize the channel nicely, SEO the videos and then release the videos, then you will get good results. This will benefit you a lot, you will be able to improve your channel with very little cost. Seo
