Perhaps, I have no knowledge of this case specifically beyond what is stated here. But I have dealt with quite a few similar cases, so it's not implausible. There are a few points here which would lead many to believe it's fake, but I'm happy to address some of them. 1) She would not have been released from a 10 year sentence due to Covid. • Regrettably, many people actually were at the time. They can only consider the crimes she was convicted of, not the totality of circumstances laid out in the story. She had specific charges which led to specific sentencing. Depending on what she was convicted of or plead to (which may have been a lesser charge than what she was initially charged with), she may have been considered a lower risk inmate. Her charges were not inherently violent on the initial jail time. Many prisons are private, not state or federally funded, and they would be liable if they could not provide sufficient medical care for prisoners, so it made more sense to negotiate early release for some to free up room for the remainder. 2) Her whole family are registered sex offenders. Grandpa, Uncles, etc. • This is also common, and is an area of study in psychology and criminology. It does seem to run in families. I don't believe there has ever been a genetic correlation made, but is rather a consequence of environmental factors. 3) Her Sex-Offender Uncles weren't in prison. • Such offenses are often difficult to prove. Conviction rates hover around 30% in most of the world because of the high evidentiary burden for prosecutors. And on average, a sex offender serves just 3 years in prison. Some serve considerably more, but that comes down to evidence, prior convictions, etc. That's a big part of why the registry was created, because many of them are walking free. 4) Demanding her Money... • That sounds unhinged to normal people, but financial abuse by parents is shockingly common. There are many who genuinely believe their children exist to support them financially. 5) Her employer would not have given out her contact info to a stalker. • Yeah they will, lol. They're not supposed to, but they do. I've had that happen to me personally. I don't know if any of these factors come into play with this story, so it might be fake. But off the top of my head, I can think of three cases that are shockingly similar that did happen. Crazy people do crazy things, and nearly 14% of the general public has a diagnosable mental health disorder. If we remove clinical depression and substance abuse from that, it's still 0.15%. That means in a small town of say 20,000 people, there are 30 on average who are genuinely nuts, and likely dangerous. That figure is used by police departments and hospitals for allocation of resources. If you know how big a population is, you know how many padded rooms you'll need, lol.
