I wish I could go back in time and hear Mer De Nom for the first time again. That album is all killer, no filler.
This entire album was a masterpiece. Orestes is my favorite, but I'm not sure I've ever loved an album more in my life. APC is pefection.

Story time!!!
I saw A Perfect Circle play on the day of my 21st birthday nearly 20 years ago now at Festival Hall in Melbourne AUS. It was by far the most crystal clear sparkly sounding gig I have ever been to, almost like you were listening to a CD (remember those kids?), stunning performance. A few songs in, Maynard says "I don't know if you know this but it's someones birthday today".
I then proceeded to lose my mind! Then he goes on to explain that it was one of their roadies birthday. Then all of my mates around me throw me up into the air and I scream "IT'S MY BIRTHDAY TOO!" Then Billy Howerdell points right at me and walks over to Maynard and says something into his ear and pointed me out to him. Maynard then got the whole crowd to sing happy birthday for their roadie. I can't remember his name but let's just say it was Tom, so every time he sang his name, he followed it up with "and that guy too".
So he finished it with "happy birthday dear Tom, happy birthday to you... and that guy too"
It was around that point that the drugs began to take hold and I had really good time. Best 21st birthday you could ever ask for
One of my favorite Maynard vocal performances. That guitar wailing, I’ve never heard anything like it before or since. The bass, everything just absolutely Game Over! ✌️🤘

@@jessietaylor790 I generally agree with Emotive, not my favorite by any means but I appreciate the artistry involved in looking at songs in a new light like they did on that album. Live version of When The Levee Breaks at red rocks really hooked me to that song, brilliant performance. I think these guys actually did a review of it, check it out if you have time. As for Eat The Elephant, again certainly not my favorite but songs like Feathers, By and Down The River, Hourglass, even Disillusioned & So Long I really enjoy now after not liking so much on first release.
A Perfect Circle was originally conceived by Billy Howerdel, a former guitar technician for Nine Inch Nails, The Smashing Pumpkins, Fishbone and Tool. Howerdel met singer Maynard James Keenan in 1992, when Tool was opening for Fishbone, and the two became friends. Three years later, Maynard offered Howerdel, who was looking for lodging, a room in his North Hollywood home. This provided Howerdel the opportunity to play demos of his music for Maynard. Pleased with what he heard, Maynard remarked, "I can hear myself singing those songs." Howerdel originally wanted Cocteau Twins lead singer Elizabeth Fraser to be A Perfect Circle's vocalist, but she was unavailable. Howerdel agreed Maynard would be a great fit and the rest is history.

Yeah, tool is great, APC and Puscifer too. But man, It's a shame that is almost end od 2022. and you two probably still didn't listen to some Isis band stuff.
Let's start with Isis - Dulcinea, Garden of Light or In Fiction, Weight, So did we. This band is just fuckin' epic.
I second anything by Isis band but Grinning Mouths, Wills dissolve, Not on rivers but in drops, or Dulcinea will all make right by you.
