Have been told since then that wrapped screens is not featured in the GT4 online beta. Am researching the repurposing of an existing tunneling method eleswhere that's used for a/multiple PS2 console(s) per (multiple) ~tunneling [instance(s)].

Get a USB wheel and pedals, set force feedback to max, do GT4's wheel+pedals cailbration then save (although, I calibrate upon every start-up). If not USB wheel, try MadCatz MC2 laptop/tabletop wheel+pedals _controller_ (with the vibration working) , find the best balance of the wheel+pedals' onboard range + deadzone settings via the dashboard calibration button along with GT4's calibration. The Mad Catz also allows for some onboard remapping beyond the GT4 menu. Although, the USB's force feedback is quite an advantage, though. 🍻👍

Indeed, this was never released to the masses. I believe this is why Polyphony made Gran Turismo 5 and 6 heavily online-focused. They wanted to do it with GT4 but couldn’t, so the moment they could, they took the chance.
I also believe this is why all of Gran Turismo 7’s single player content requires an internet connection.
Perhaps it was so they could easily roll out updates and expansions. Or maybe it was always about monetization (I doubt it. Most of the stuff in GT7 was at Sony’s request.)
I miss that game the online is dead after gt5 released, still one of the best gt4otv

PD I am certain that your assessment on the glitches which often require hotfixes cannot be blamed on the users. first of all I am an endurance racing and rally freak so I was the first to discover the glitch relating to suspended races restarting at some sample track with you in b-spec mode etc. there was another glitch which seem to be some sort brake assist which does show up on display but can be felt during a race lap when going into corners and accelerating and please not I log in everyday not every other update.

If I'm correct (am uncertain because the GT images don't look bright enough for some reason) , appears to be the niche, widescreen aspect ratio Sony WEGA CRT TVs that, IIRC, were compatible with receiving up to a 1080 resolution signal. I don't believe they work for lightgun controllers though. Also, they were likely the heaviest CRT TVs ever produced for their size except for possibly a small number of 4:3 aspect ratio Trinitrons-WEGAs.... That tubular chassis would make sense in supporting the weight of one of those.
