A professional runner does not want to have “big muscles”. Big Muscles are heavy and they would slow him down. But it’s not that because this person is running that he has no big muscles. It’s because he does not train his muscles in a way that they are getting big (hypertrophy training). Someone who does recreational sport should not fear that running will make him slim and “eats” his muscles. A balanced training with running + weight training (Could be only body weight) + recovery will help someone to built muscles and loose body fat (so that you see the muscles). Nutrition is another important factor to consider.
@@Stella-vu1ik Hi, i know your comment was like 4 months ago lol but it seems like you know about running and i would like to ask you a question. I've recently started running everyday and honestly I dont really want super big muscles, i kinda want like a lean and functional body, is it okay if i do running everyday while like maybe 3 days per week I do bodyweight exercises like squats, pushups, etc... it worries me that i'm overtraining or something like that. Thank you very much
Hellah - first off congrats on the 100k and just wanted to mention the videos look super clean. However, like some other people are saying, there are some negative health aspects to running everyday. I have had issues with my knees running on pavement and treadmills and found that grass is the best option. All that consistent pounding cannot be good for the knees. I am wondering if you have ever had an MRI to see the condition of your knees, meaning like whether your meniscus may have been injured (like mine is currently due to running) or some other type of knee injury due to running. I really want to get back to running but am very curious to know if you have had pain in your knees due to running for so many days without a break. Thanks
Shoes is very important too,,, bec. You need a good shoes..location yes, I love to run in uphill,DOWNHILL,flat not too much bec.CANT FIND FLAT IN MY PLACE ITS MOUNTAIN AREA THATS WHY.. good job dude... where you at?
I know you always mention the benefits, and I’m not denying that. What prevents me from running everyday is fear of people judging me. I never go out of the house anyways, so getting out let alone running is something I can’t even fathom
You have social anxiety, i have it still but it used to be way worse. You have to confront the fear or it will always be there and potentially could get worse. I have been running every day for two weeks. It feels amazing. But i keep hearing people say cardio is bad for weight loss and muscle growth so whats the truth
Im trying to run 2-3 times a week! I can only manage to run 2kms right now, plus it's freezing in Montreal 🥶! I also bought shoes from UnderArmour that are made to run in winter when it's slushy
Keep it up. I started running short distances (mainly focused on speed). Slowly start pushing yourself to go further every day. Set a goal where you plan on running 3.2 km (2 miles) in 30 minutes. Don't stop until you finish. Then focus on beating that time every few runs. Another tip, run with music. Find some songs that energize you and keep you going. With the music, focus on reaching a certain distance before a song ends, like a quarter mile or half mile of something (this helped me improve my time immensely). Trust me when I say this, when you push yourself to your fullest ability, and believe that you can make it, you can and you WILL. If you don't believe in yourself, then remind yourself of me, a random commenter on TH-cam, and how I believe that you can go further than ever before. Keep up the hard work and get to it!!!
