For those curious about the glider being towed, here is my video review of it:
th-cam.com/video/w0m__DyYrYg/w-d-xo.html
Super cool< I love it, you are Purdy neat. Love your videos. Super sweet plane, I have the old one, and have only flew it one time, still a beginner.
You need the tow release on the top of the tow plane because the glider will normally be higher then the tow plane .This is different then full scale when you are sitting in the pilots seat and you can keep the glider in the proper location ,but you did a pretty good job anyway . 👍
I knew I recognized the guy on the cover of my new AMA magazine!
Congrats Fitz!
Mar.16/2023_Great seeing your work, & play too for another season.
Best detailed review and assembly together I ever saw.
Thank you for sharing the fantastic work.
Great video. No nonsense or boring bits... and another great model from H9 👍👍👍 Thankyou
Beautiful plane, and nice glider tow and flight!
Beautiful plane and beautiful flight. Congrats, you’re good…
One of the best ARF complete build, fly video's out there, some ppl think arf means everything should just fall into place perfectly, way to go Fitz showing how it's done.. 👍
I love your videos!! Detailed, witty, and full of information. I just ordered this in gas form and can’t wait to build it. Keep up the good work!!!! 👍👍
Great review. Just picked this one up. Love the quality of Hangar 9 planes.👍👍
Nice video, my dad used to fly those in Canada but DDT got him. I’m no pilot but I’ve tried gliding and the tow plane was a Pawnee. Made me smile.
SWEET Pawnee!!!
Great job on the video! I very much enjoyed you and your friend towing the glider!
That was so fun to watch. Something different, great video. Thanks.
saludos Fitz y Lee!!! #teamMexico!!
Brilliant video and very well presented and detailed.
Hey Fitz. Fellow gilder guider here. The PA-25 Pawnee is by far the most popular glider tow plane. Your short towing video clip is the Pawnee as evidenced by the wing struts. Nice job at both ends of the rope!
Another great video. I really enjoy your direct and informative content. Thankyou.
Very well done all round.
Excellent review 👍
That's some great work Fitz
Beautiful!
Awesome video! Looks like a winner!!!
Great flying by that tow pilot! 😅
Really enjoyed that awesome
Great video. Love the Star Trek sweater!
Great Video and plane, I want one.
thanks, fitz!
As always, another great review, my friend!
I have the World Models version (yellow and blue), and a little smaller as well. Mine is one heavy plane, flies scale with no bad manners. At the club is one of guests/visitors favorite.
Realy nice model cool concept for launching the glider!!! nice job all around great video
I'm surprised you didn't put a hopper on it and dust the weeds with all purpose flour. Great video as always. Let me tell you kids it ain't as easy as he makes it look.
Hi, I'm glad to see someone with as many planes as me. Nice job! Shalom/gw
This looks like fun. Heck I think I could scare myself and build one of these. I am not so good on models. Really to cool to see your builds.
nice build and video the plane is nice looking good job😄
Nice video and nice build. Kind of surprised to see CA hinges on something like this. I’d bet a VVRC 20cc twin would be great in this, assuming it would fit.
The pilot looks like Lee
Super film🙂 Pozdrowienia z Polski z miejscowości Chałków!👋👌
Awesome 👍
nice avistar you got in the back id like to see a video on that! i found one ready to go at a swap show never even flown for 60 bucks!
Lovely video, thorough, stress-free. Enjoyed listening to your voice. New subscriber here!
This is awesome! :)
It looks great! So many similarities in materials & construction to the Phoenix Models Ryan ST-A I just bought. My guess...build by the same folks. 😉
Yes very much so, as well as seagull made all in the same place
So cool
Man! What fun!
Cool!
Awesome 😎 video
Pawny and Brave are two different aircraft, very nice finish - one could go to town on scale detail on this bird.
That's what it is called on thr MFG website and wikipedia.
PA-36. Piper Pawnee Brave (according to wiki)
Very nice video 👌
You have to mount the aero tow coupling on the top of the fuselage. It is not the same position as in the original plane. Normaly the model planes fly deeper as the sailplane. If you mount the coupling on the bottom of the fuselage, the glider will fly a very nice wave flight. You can’t control this...if the coupling point are to far from the model gravity center, please mount two couplings right and left 20mm behind the gravitity center on both sides in the middle of the fuselage (over the wings) this is optimum 👍
Fitz knew that, but the stock plane was not equipped with structural framing at the proper location. The removable canopy takes up that area. We've discussed an option to install new supports that a spare canopy with cut-out sections could utilize to tow properly.
Nice video Fitz
I hope one day I can fly a real one!
On planes this size and larger I prefer to go gas. Yeah it's more hassle but for the price of that motor/esc and a single battery. I could buy a 20cc engine, fuel tank/hose, extra 2 servos throttle/choke and still put 100+ in my pocket. I'd also double flight time. I've nothing against electrics it's just more economical to go gas at a certain point.
Hey curious question, where did you get that awesome tow hook up part that you installed in the bottom of the plane?
legendhobby.com
Hey Fitz I still am not finding this release on their website have you got a link by chance?
What size prop did you use on this set up?
Great video! Was curious to know what size master air screw prop you used on this plane?
16x8
My DAD was a AG pilot 60's 70's
He used to crop dust in one of those.
I flew once with him.
'Couse DDT was not safe to be near.
Hermoso avión😍pero😢lástima que no sea a glow.
Life is way to Fast Kids!
Great review. I too had many aerotows behind a Pawnee in my fullsize gliding days. I prefer the earlier/classic Pawnee with rounded fin and wing struts. It would be cool if Hangar 9 allowed you to build either version from the kit but maybe too many things are different for them to do that.
Like your videos. Can you provide some info on the lights and switch etc. thought the led light s would be 3volt? Thanks
The lights come with the kit and have built-in electronics to handle 12-volt input.

I know this comment is completely silly, but the instrument panel looks complete, it meets FAR 91.205
Just FYI KV doesn't stand for kilovolt when referring to brushless motors.
Did I say kilovolt on the video?
Great video guys!!
Can you send a link for the tow release parts for the tow plane and the sailplane? Thanks
legendhobby.com
Cessna 208 Caravan tow hook.
Wwwooowwww
Do you recommend power distribution module? The smartfly is very expensive do you know the sheeper one
Don't need anything fancy.
Just curious, are you a radio show host? You could be! nice vid and commentary!
Not really. But I have a podcast I do with friends: rcroundtable.com/
I'll bet that hook was once in a caravan 😮.
Do you think my dle 35ra would fit in this model? I'm at 4600 ft above sea level and want the additional CC's.
Thanks, man! Totally entertaining! I’m subscribed, since I could never fly like you.
@HobbyView, How do you have your flaps set up?? did you use a servo reverser? im using a DX9 having issue with flap servos going same direction. thanks in advance and as always Great video!!
In my case, the flaps are on separate channels. However you could use a servo reverser. Some digital servos can also be programmed to reverse direction as well.
Bring this one to Joe Nall so I can steal a couple of flights! ;-)
I will try!
Hello. i chose to use threaded rod on my NE1 Navy Piper cub rather than using a electric motor box. Would you say this is a suitable option to mount my Spektrum motor? or should i use a motor box? Thanks for the help
If you think the motor box is inadequate, sure you can use threaded rods. Here is an example of how I did it: th-cam.com/video/MJUyum0DWdI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Nw4sl2YSG_aCnvLa&t=552
Will it fit a K30TP?
Don't know, but I like the way you think.
very nice...question..did the savage bobber ever fly?
Yes, but there are some unforeseen delays in getting the video out on it, sorry.
@@HobbyView looking forward to it :)
I put a stinger 35cc in mine
What rc club is that? Very nice
www.nwrcc.com/
Batteries an propeller
It would have been funny if you would have had a woman ask if she could walk her dogs while you flew the glider.
Spray fertilizing lol yeah not so much lol more like for herbicide and pesticide applications lol..
th-cam.com/video/Wz4Cieqziwk/w-d-xo.html
Cool found a new hobby can quit watching drum videos for a little while
Would not use the EZ snaps ever, get a die thread the rod for a ball link, Don't cheap out on critical connections , please, I Don't want to hear about you've never had a problem BS, you probably have or known someone who has but couldn't identify it as a cause of the crash.
Safe is safe, every EZ has major shortcomings
Pawnee Brave? that's a really terrible, offensive name
Not to me.
What is the purpose of the window in front of the canopy on the forward fuselage? I’m tempted to leave it off on mine. Nice review, as always!
@@mickydee6550 , thanks. I'm guessing on the real one its a way for the pilot to see the level of fluid in the hopper tank when cop dusting.
And the kit doesn’t seem that good
Not very professionaly done sorry
