I’m seven months late, but hope you see this comment. Excellent review. I’m 5 foot nine as well and the buffeting drives me nuts. Very useful information… Well done Sir.
Thanks! I since used the screen on a 3000km tour. Did it's job admirably. Took it off again for local riding as it's a PITA on the trails as I can't see the ground in detail.
I am 194cm tall and I get a lot of buffeting noise, even with the larger OEM Aprilia Touring shield. So I too tried this AliExpress shield and am quite happy. Until watching this video I didn't even notice any distortion from this AliExpress screen - but I guess that's because I look over it (and now through it). The loud buffeting noise is now gone. 🙂 Hallaluja !
Watercolor painting, are the right words to describe, indeed 😀 But in terms of wind protection, I expect to be better than using the original with an extra deflector screen on top. I'm 185cm and have tried two different deflectors, single and dual point of attachment and I can say it is better than just running the stock screen but there is still some buffeting and noise specially with ADV helmet because in my case the wind still hits the peak.
For the same(ish) price you can get the Puig deflector. I've got one on my Tuareg and it works really well and give some of the adjustability that you miss from your GS. From what I can tell, probably not as effective in reducing wind noise but I'd recommend the Puig deflector. Enjoying your videos by the way... You've got some amazing trails near you. Any chance of some more wheelies?
Maybe 1 thing you forgot to test; the Ali screen is probably horrendous with headlights from other cars at night? And if UV coating is sub par, the Ali screen will turn yellow in just a few summer months time? Puig add on deflector has adjustability. When riding slow, in hot summer months, being able to get some cooling wind, that makes up for a little more noise when riding highway speeds, my idea.
Btgmoto. How are liking for tuareg so, far? Any issues? I was leaning towards the 660 until the Honda transalp came out. So, I have to check the transalp out.
Really loving it so far, it's a great bike. I'll be filming the 1000km update next week, picking it up from the dealers tomorrow from its first service!
Goddamn, you hobbits have it easy with wind noise. That screen is rubbish optical quality though, not sure I agree with supporting copies of properly developed products.

Great review, one of the best I've seen for a windscreen, Thanks!
Glad it was helpful! I've bought some bits off Aliexpress, so there will be another video on this subject later this month.

When I tested it, I thought that tall riders wouldn't even look through it, so glad I was correct!

Just in protection, it's great. And I'm sure it'll be good for chaps quite a bit higher than me too. But the quality is dreadful.
That would drive me nuts! The PUIG touring screen doesn't do a bad job on the Tuareg.
I definitely need to see a Puig close-up, but I'm guessing it's not as wobbly as this one?
@@btgmoto I found it pretty solid 👍
Great review. What brand is your helmet?
This one is my ADV lid, it's a Nexx X.Wed
Thanks again for another upload 👍
My pleasure! Thanks for checking out my hobbit video! ;)

Tuareg is with the dealer right now for first service, when it comes back I can use all the power :)
Would you mind posting the link to AliExpress for this screen?

I'm sure we'll see how it ages over the year!
My friend, I can offer you a cheaper one if you really want it.😁, hello from china, same tuareg 660 owner, love your video!
An Aliexpress wind deflector is 1/4 the cost and does a better job because it’s adjustable….ask me how I know…
Just one question: Comes this windscreen with an ABE Certification?
Hahaha no chance! 🤣

What heath bars do you have ??? Send link if you are so Nice 😉
Oxford Hot Grips
will u keep it or send it back?
Definitely keep it, as I've fitted it already. Will probably look for an authentic one soon and check how bad this is in comparison!
Internet science FTW
Yeah, wait 'til you see the crap I got delivered after this one. Literally taking legal advice on the next video :/

Hahah there has to be a plus side to a 29" inside leg, to make up for all the drops!
tuareg 660 is the crap
Is that a compliment, or a criticism?
