3D Showcase shipwreck IJsselmeer, Workum.

  • Wreck of a wooden cargo sailing vessel found in the IJsselmeer (former Zuiderzee) just in front of the coast of the city of Workum. The ship was loaded with yellow bricks (“geeltjes”) and probably stranded due to bad weather conditions in these shallow coast waters. The wreck (17m x 5m) has first been located in 2014 by the archaeological diving team of Stichting Archeos Fryslan (SAF) and has been reported to the Dutch Cultural Heritage Agency (RCE) as “Workum 3”. It’s now part of a more intensified survey and investigation of the maritime heritage values of these coastal Ijsselmeer waters of the municipality Súdwest-Fryslân by the SAF-team. Supported by and in close cooperation with the agency and the municipality, the SAF-team investigates and reports about these archeological findings.
    The 3D model has been made with Agisoft Metashape Standard software from underwater footage shot with a Olympus PEN E-PL10 camera with a wideangle convertor lens.
