Some really impressive effects in this. Not just the CGI, the shots from inside the car were very well done. Also those old people are geniuses. You want to survive a disaster movie, then kidnap the main character.
I have huge admiration for the makers of this film and the actors! It's extraordinarily life-like. This is the best apocalyptic movie sequence I've ever seen. You Russians are amazing at this lol!
The editing in this scene is absolutely fantastic. It switches seamless from several camerastyles and perspectives.. And its all edited in a way that it looks like a single take and this all with some very impressive special effects both practical and digital to boot... Wow... just wow.
Hey! Russian guy here to give you some context on the scene: The girl is named Lera, her father works at a space station (the man in the beginning who told her to look out the window), the boy with the mechanical arm is her best friend Misha, the elder people are some strangers who decided to help the unconscious girl out. If you want to see the movie - here is the concept (without too much spoilers): as I said earlier, Lera's father works at a space station, which has some high-tech gear to help the workers out (which conveniently lets the father spy on Lera and remotely hack into any machines to make sure she was safe). Then the catastrophe happens, which also breaks the space station, leaving the father the only person alive. Instead of evacuating, he decided to help his daughter out with everything he can to guide and protect her. Overall, I liked the movie. 8/10
4:37 what an idiot. He pushes her away so she doesnt get hit. But instead of following her (tackling her and keeping clinged to her) so both get safed, he makes a step back to dramatically die. such a bad writing.. i couldnt enjoy this nonsense.
Well, asteroids even that size, wipe out half the city with each impact. Refer to tunguska, which was an air burst (didnt impact the ground because it blew up in the air) for the devastation that a real asteroid would cause. Lucky if 1 in 10,000 would survive.
Really Really well done better than most Hollywood crap these days The continuous shots were incredible not jumping from one scene to another with heavy editing
If one gets hit by a car, the one thing one shouldn't do, is make sharp movements with a person's neck, especially since you don't know how badly a person has been injured in a hit and run. But I do love that the cat is just sleeping through about HALF of the meteor impacts. Nerves of steel, that cat has! :P
I like the POV or found footage style whatever you call it of this whole scene it makes you feel like you're the one experiencing the whole thing that's happening on this scene. This is top tier no doubt
That's a pretty fvckin good scene. The cinematography is amazing. That whole car sequence is fantastic nod to similar "one take" scenes from "Children Of Men" and "War Of The Worlds".
Decades since the original "Earthquake" starring Charlton Heston and people are STILL insisting on cramming into elevators during a disaster and being surprised when they are dropped to their deaths.
Being trapped in the elevator is more likely than being dropped any significant distance. Disaster movies tend to ignore that all modern elevators are equipped with brakes that engage if the elevator drops too quickly. These are relatively simple mechanical systems that don't depend on power. Taking an elevator during a fire or when a building is collapsing is still a good way to end up dead, just not from the elevator car falling.
In a panic of a potential building collapse you might reason that the high speed of a lift from a top floor of a high-rise outweighs the risk of being trapped in one, versus taking longer to get out in time via a stairwell collapse, plus some elderly/infirmed people might not be able to navigate the stairs so would have to risk the lift regardless. I'd still choose the stairs myself though.
We live in 2023, 99.99% of modern society is woke and delusional. Most people would go up the roof and record what's happening until they get wasted, saying the comets are racist, sexist and probably maga.
Excellent special effects/cinematography. Excellent performances by unknown actors Don't need any over priced prima donnas. This is pretty good sci-fi.
We didn't even need dialogue. I could only understand "Da" and the way she said "Astroid", it was compltely obvious what was going on and pretty much what they were saying. That's why we love MOVIES.
Lol yes they can, you probably have limited knowledge of films. Single-shot action sequences have been used for a long time, but directors like Alfonso Cuarón for the film Children of Men (2006) made them popular in the action/adventure genre. This filming style was also extensively used in movies like Gravity, Silent House, Atomic Blonde, Chernobyl Diaries, Cloverfield, and Rec.
What an ignorant scripted comment, Atomic Blonde was a real one shot scene, unlike this easily edited piece of shit. And there’s hundreds and hundreds of much better scenes from Hollywood movies, only a moronic idiot or someone schilling for the murderers at the Kremlin would be saying this nonsense.
Feels like a first-person video game in movie form. The one continuous shot is works so well to enhance the dread you'd feel because it makes you feel like you're running with her.
Compliments to the filmmakers, the camera work, the effects and the staging can compete with Hollywood. I'm curious about the film and will watch it when I get the chance.
This is perhaps the best and most realistic, immersive disaster scene I have ever seen, and I have REALLY high standards as a method actor myself, because I easily pick up on the slightest hint of bad acting. To whatever team put all this together, WOW! Well done!
Only advantage Hollywood has nowadays is that they are english language films. There almost equally as good or better looking films coming out of China and Russia. China still got to tone down the acting a little bit.
In real life cats often sense when humans (or other animals) are sick, injured, or nearing death. It is extremely common for cats to snuggle up and try to comfort those people. There are even cats in hospitals that go and rest with humans as they are dying, being able to sense who is dying, like a fuzzy Grim Reaper.
Some people will complain that it's "stitched" together to resemble a one take scene but a lot of effort goes into it to make it look somewhat seamless.
I wasn't looking for any stitches, so I didn't see any stitches. It's not a valid complaint.

6:50 - oh, she revived, thank god.
6:52 - Thank our cat, Musya, she is therapeutic, because it tramples a bit and all diseases are gone! Am I right, Roma?
7:02 - hold on!
7:07 - Musya, Musya, where is my cat?, where is my cat?
-calm down, Tanya, calm down
7:28 - what is going on, Roma?
- calm down, Tanya, calm down, everything is gonna be alright
-I am really scared, Roma
-calm down Tanya...
- Aah, Roma!
7:40 - stay calm, stay calm, no panic, stay calm
-be careful!
7:50 - Damn, get from the car, now!
8:00 - Musya!
-Leave her here!
Joooo gracias por traducirla, youtube no me la traducia mas que en ingles, aca te traduje a ti al español y con esto pude saber.
The fact that the entire thing is 1 shot is insane to me
What is this camera work 😳😳😳
Actually there's many so called "invisible cuts" but sure, they masked it pretty well making the one shot effect.
It’s not one shot. There’s hundreds in there.
@@Crey12321 Yes technicaly, but dang its well done.
I was a fan US made sci fi movies but the moment i saw Russian sci fi movies i am Fully shocked and superbly impressed with their production quality with those budgets 😮
Cost £6million to make, amazing work for low budget.
2009 movies engine💀
I didn't have to understand a single word. Those scenes were infinitely better than anything Hollywood has to offer.
Some really impressive effects in this. Not just the CGI, the shots from inside the car were very well done.
Also those old people are geniuses. You want to survive a disaster movie, then kidnap the main character.
At least until they get separated again. Then they die.
The continuous movement of the camera is amazing.
I have huge admiration for the makers of this film and the actors! It's extraordinarily life-like. This is the best apocalyptic movie sequence I've ever seen. You Russians are amazing at this lol!
What confused me is why people were driving *TOWARD* the devastation rather than away from it...
Looks better than any Hollywood movie.
So glad the cameraman was there to survive this one-shot.
The editing in this scene is absolutely fantastic.
It switches seamless from several camerastyles and perspectives.. And its all edited in a way that it looks like a single take and this all with some very impressive special effects both practical and digital to boot...
Wow... just wow.
Russian cinema made a great step up in the last years..
That camera work was phenomenal!!!
Hey! Russian guy here to give you some context on the scene:
The girl is named Lera, her father works at a space station (the man in the beginning who told her to look out the window), the boy with the mechanical arm is her best friend Misha, the elder people are some strangers who decided to help the unconscious girl out.
Thanks for the Info! Great Scene!
Did the couple with the cat survived?
@@Saiyan0X honestly, I don't remember. Guess you'll need to find out yourself)
@@busybaci The cat's name is musya (муся). And yeah. That's the magic power of any cat))
@@Saiyan0X Yes, they survived
This is one of the most well done disaster scene ever.
4:37 what an idiot. He pushes her away so she doesnt get hit. But instead of following her (tackling her and keeping clinged to her) so both get safed, he makes a step back to dramatically die.
such a bad writing.. i couldnt enjoy this nonsense.
@@elQuestionare
Spolier alert: he is alive.
And by the way, if you want to see bad writing and nonsense all around - watch the real life.
Well, asteroids even that size, wipe out half the city with each impact. Refer to tunguska, which was an air burst (didnt impact the ground because it blew up in the air) for the devastation that a real asteroid would cause. Lucky if 1 in 10,000 would survive.
@@elQuestionarelol! If you want bad writing, go to woke hollywood and you will find a trash with all kinds of studio names on it, then look inside.
@@troyezell5841 ’Woke’ this
‘Woke’ that
Do you have a single original thought bouncing around in your head ?
This is fantastic movie making 😮 The length of the shot is unbelievable.
Really Really well done better than most Hollywood crap these days
The continuous shots were incredible not jumping from one scene to another with heavy editing
editing is more than jump cuts, this scene probably had heavier editing than most scenes ever made.
Yes without very heavy edit, the efffect wont be this good, they still a little room to improve by smashing/blowing away human when impact.
That is one very chilled out cat. Looks like a great film. Especially the cinematography.
I didn't understand anything about the dialogues but I really appreciated the special effects, this is a fine piece of Art, a masterpiece!
You can turn on closed captioning and then under settings, you can turn on autotranslate and pick whichever language you want
The sheer terror and the shock this girl displays is what makes this scene so realistic - well done.
Acting..... Not good acting, but acting.
@@louseveryann2181 I haven't seen the whole movie - you may be right.
Amazing direction and camera work. Just amazing.
Give that cameraman all the awards
If one gets hit by a car, the one thing one shouldn't do, is make sharp movements with a person's neck, especially since you don't know how badly a person has been injured in a hit and run.
But I do love that the cat is just sleeping through about HALF of the meteor impacts. Nerves of steel, that cat has! :P
The cinematography and the editing was incredible. Never heard of this movie but damn do I wanna watch it now.
The cinematography, including the actors, were unbelievably awesome!
this is some seriously great work with camera ! and the cgi ! very nice
I like the POV or found footage style whatever you call it of this whole scene it makes you feel like you're the one experiencing the whole thing that's happening on this scene. This is top tier no doubt
The cinematography is pure brilliance.
I never see a russian movie before and i'm impressive, that's good !
Yes, it certainly shows up the drivel Hollywood has been pumping out as of late.
I seen some of the Iranian and russian movies.. very impressive.
The cinematography is actually insane, like what?!
As much as I want to hate it, I agree. The flow/continuity is amazing. Well Done to whomever did this.
Wut wuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut!!!!!!!
Beautiful choreography. Felt very real. Thanks
WOW - what an amazingly masterful piece of direction! Anyone with an iota of interest in action film techniques should study this.
That's a pretty fvckin good scene. The cinematography is amazing. That whole car sequence is fantastic nod to similar "one take" scenes from "Children Of Men" and "War Of The Worlds".
Good God. This deserves at least English subtitles, if not an English dub. Come on Netflix, pull your finger out.
Props to the cameraMan..he is a legend.
Man I love one shots in movies. No cuts makes it feel so immersive
It’s in the script
In a panic of a potential building collapse you might reason that the high speed of a lift from a top floor of a high-rise outweighs the risk of being trapped in one, versus taking longer to get out in time via a stairwell collapse, plus some elderly/infirmed people might not be able to navigate the stairs so would have to risk the lift regardless. I'd still choose the stairs myself though.
It’s a thing done on your behalf. Movie makers know you like being frustrated at stupid people so they put them in movies
And it also proves the world does not revolve around the USA. This is very good.
We didn't even need dialogue. I could only understand "Da" and the way she said "Astroid", it was compltely obvious what was going on and pretty much what they were saying. That's why we love MOVIES.
Thats Some Next Level Shitz Even Hollywood can't choreography this whole set-piece.
Children of Men beat this 17 years ago.
What an ignorant scripted comment, Atomic Blonde was a real one shot scene, unlike this easily edited piece of shit. And there’s hundreds and hundreds of much better scenes from Hollywood movies, only a moronic idiot or someone schilling for the murderers at the Kremlin would be saying this nonsense.
the movie is available on youtube premuim. It’s called Mira. It has closed captions and is dubbed in english! Well worth watching
The building falling on the road behind them was cool!
Feels like a first-person video game in movie form. The one continuous shot is works so well to enhance the dread you'd feel because it makes you feel like you're running with her.
I didn't understand a word... but my heart raced and I cursed a lot! What an amazing scene!!!
Well done!
🧐🤨😁😆😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That movie sequence was easily as impressive as anything I've seen out of Hollywood.....Kudos!
Only advantage Hollywood has nowadays is that they are english language films. There almost equally as good or better looking films coming out of China and Russia.
China still got to tone down the acting a little bit.
Actually, better!
I don’t care what anyone says. I liked watching this clip even though I never heard of the movie before.
That was the chillest cat! Just laying on her purring away, while all hell is breaking loose outside!!😮😮
Cat got 9 lives, why bother getting all riled up..
wow I didn't know Russia have good movies.
Thank you for sharing 🥰
