Personally, I find it laughable when people who are enthusiastic, unquestioning participants of this western society attempt to judge and condemn others as "insane" or "crazy", "weird", etc. The dominant society in this part of the world combines so much greed, chauvinism, and destructive stupidity (all in the name of "business" or "wealth") that it is literally killing the planet it lives upon, and yet people involved in this society look down upon people who meditate or practice any form of yoga or magic as "cray-cray". I would personally rather be a wandering sadhu without a stich of clothing, with road-callused feet and river water in my hair, than to live in the manner of the gilded ghouls of Wall Street. I think that in order for an abnormal point of view to be rightfully termed a mental "illness" it has to be causing demonstrable harm. What point of view has created more demonstrable harm than fascism, or predatory materialism, or totalitarianism? Yet here we go, as a nation at least, sliding into the fires of that very flavor of madness. Honestly, I kind of wish I could borrow a page from the Christians' apocalyptic book of fantasies, and visualize Maa returning like the wrathful parent, determined to bring order to an erring world, and prepared to punish the wicked with her fury.
