Greeks invented it, Brits contributed to the next evolution.

I’m going to repeat something I once hear Dan Inosanto say: wherever man is on the planet, we have two arms and two legs, in Japan the same strike has a Japanese name, while in the Philippines we call it something else, yet it is the same thing. Maybe the Brits made it a sport first under the rules of Queensbury, but fighting is something all mankind has been doing forever. Whether we are Yaqui, Apache, Shoshone, Tlaxcala or Maya… we are all fighters yes🙏🏽

It’s impressive because it doesn’t have nowhere close the amount of state support that soccer does. It’s the second largest sport behind football yet all the money public and private goes to football and boxing is left entirely by the people to fund themselves.
The second most practiced sport in México is basketball....also with non government support, but box is one of the most popular!
@@cmnweb practiced but not the most consumed, one canelo fight in mexico makes an average of 30 to 35 million spectetors, regular boxing matchs every weekend has 10 to 12 million concurrent viewers, basketball does not make nowhere near those numbers regularly.
Y lo gacho es que en el boxeo, llegan por meritos y no por palancas como en el futbol. Ojala se apoyara más al boxeo y de paso también a las MMA, que si tuvieramos lucha gregoromana u estilo olimpica en las escuelas como en Estados Unidos, ahora si conquistariamos la UFC y empresas como LUX serían top en el mundo.

Very good documentary. Behind USA which is n. 1, Mexico produce the most world champion boxers whole word. Perhaps Mexico could be #1 but there is not good enough fighters in high weights (from super middle to heavy ).
