I got 1 last night as well.. Entered field. Heard fox barking Played a few barks on gc500 Vixen came in like mahic. Mightve been looking for her missing mates...🥺 Nice shot thwre...rabnit movements can be a fox indication th-cam.com/video/dlW6cImFLzQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=GrJionkySPuI8N6_
@@misterlewgee8874 Nice. 😊 I saw 4 at the rifle range the other night while sighting in a new rifle. Some barking and watched some playing around. One came for a look within 10m after my first shot. This one is seen through the monocular come down in behind where the goat was but lost it while switching to the rifle scope. Rabbits running are always a good indicator of where they may be. Kangaroos are also good at giving them away. 👍
Seriously never know anyone take ao long to take a shot, got bored sorry
@@rogerparker9228 Thanks for the feedback. I guess that’s the joy of having an LRF and BC calculator in a rifle scope on an air rifle and being able to use it, coupled with the LRF ranging and updating the aim point multiple times made it more lengthy than normal. That being said I’ll edit harder next time to just include the shot for you. 👍
What power you at fella
@@deanpike8376 I’m getting 880 fps with the 26.5 grain Hades. It’s a Dreamline classic so the only real power setting (wheel) i have to play with is set on .25 cal.
@@OoterOutdoors Nice, here in good old Blighty we are restricted sub 12. I've got a Dreamline with Alpex on it, lovely combination to be fair. Stay safe lad, good hunting
@@deanpike8376 thanks. You may be restricted in power but you can get suppressors a lot easier than we can here. Good shooting to you too. 👍
That must be the worst reticle option on the apex, it really is hard to see, it the color of it as well. Try white at night with a cross hair or even the dot. Pat yourself on the back though your abilities are very noteworthy, brother.
@@BarrieCopeland-je6lh I like the red as it stands out (more so when looking through the scope). I find the dots tend to get lost as they aren’t always big enough. 👍
What calibre? And is that silenced?
@@JohnVK5JAK .25 cal. No, not silenced.
Nice, which pellets are you running in the dreamline?
@@camaitken8180 JSB Hades
Yep I've had them the 14 grain ones are very accurate. I've found the h and n 18 grain barracudas hunter to be the best on rabbits. Tuned at 950fps out of the dreamline they hold more energy

Great shot! I little young for my liking but that’s just me - circle of life man. Great round though, I ought to get myself a BSA Martini…
@@lmbros6932 unfortunately the damage these guys do to wildlife and stock (young or old) means first come first shot. Hornet is a great round, I need to get it out and use it more often.
Now you know if you get a fox with a reverse mohawk...its rhe same one...😅

It's amazing how it can be hard to find a fox whistle around your neck...when you see a fox.. Keep up the good work!
@@misterlewgee8874 thanks. 👍 To be honest I’m not sure why I bothered with the whistle at this time of year. 🤷♂️
@@OoterOutdoors I find there's a a whole spectrum of responses...from bolt in opposite direction..ignore...to come bounding in...ive not called enough to see patterns bout time of year ..
@@misterlewgee8874 this time of year when chasing mates/mating it’s very much ‘miss’ for me on the whistles. Outside of that it’s sorta 50/50 which for me at night means I rarely bother with the caller depending on the property and shot limitations. If I can wait them out and get closer (or they get closer) I’ll do that. I probably need to work on my calling skills though to be honest. 🤣
@@OoterOutdoors I use GC 500....sometimes vixen on heat is completely ignored..maybe this time of year it'll make a stampede...
@@misterlewgee8874 I have one of those but I find it too much to carry around with all the other gear I’ve got as well. Not enough free hands. lol It’s a first world problem, the struggle is real. 🤣
Nice work.

Nice work 👍.. at 3:15 at the top of the thermal picture looks like a fox running in the distance, could be the one you spotted with the rabbit.
@@Ground_Control_au Hi, The fox I was watching with the rabbit was directly behind me from the way I was facing. Funny though, that was a rabbit hopping and I only spotted it myself watching when editing.

Hiya bud Now you've had the 650L for a bit just wondering if there was any downsides as far as you can tell. I'm considering a 660L and I'm concerned about downloading footage from the internal memory to an Apple computer. I don't believe there is a way.. Not sure if you know?
Hi Neil, the only real downside is the overall height of the scope above the bore due to the large objective lens but you can get around that with a cheek riser. Audio is a little bit tinny as well. Other than that it’s going really well. If the Apple has a usb port file downloads should work. If not you may have to download to your phone via the app and then email it across.
@@OoterOutdoors thanks for that.. I've FB PM'd you. Sorry to be painful :)
Great weekend by the looks, not happy I missed it.
Was an excellent weekend Ray, would have been good to see you there. Always next year. 👍
Looks like a fun day out mate.
Great weekend if you can swing it. Even a day is sweet. 👍
God you fanny about.
A necessary evil I’m afraid when animals are on the wrong side of the fence. I’d rather fanny about than get in trouble with the law. 👍
Optical zoom on digital devices sounds excellent... As would Windage ballistics ..
You're basically spot on. A hidden cost of NV is getting a very good torch or 2 (850 and 940) and the mounts for them. One technical point {or 2) as far as not seeing the back ground with nv is rhat the picture adjusts so that the highly illuminating object is not glaring or washing out...when adjustment is made...the backround goes darker. If you get a torch with a focusable beam...you can avoid this situation..albeit see less surrounds as youre looking at a narower fov. Field of view. Ive shot puksar xm50 thermal for a while now. Identifying animal that arent moving can be an issue....ie...is that a fox or a lamb laying under that tree at 200 yards. So...im thinking of getting a nv scope for identification. I use sphuhr qr mounts ...so i can swap digital scopes from rifle to rifle.. If you are shooitng longer ranges you'll definitely want lrf and ballistics...in scope or strelok etc. Nb. Foxes still take off when you touch the trigger when using a thermal too....😅
Great video. Very informative. I have the Alpex 4K but shoot in both types of environments and your video was spot on. Saving for a thermal atm. I liked the Vidar picture quality. I assume the picture is even better through the actual scope ?
Thank you for the feedback. Yes the Vidar is clearer in real life. TH-cam never does them justice.
Can be frustrating seeing them not responding to the caller..rather ..being alerted and made wary. Foxing can be frustrating indeed!
Pleassnt to see someone else using 17rem...(I also use 204 at times) Ive dropped foxes on the spot at 300 yards with 20gn pill...but...also had them run after receiving good chest shots at 180 yards etc. Its very fur friendly though.. Keep posting and good luck...
Thanks. I’m trying to keep the old skool cartridges in the modern world. 👍
When I introduce new hunters into the dark side I start with NV because of the cost. I show them thermal after setting the hook. Great video.
Thanks. NV is a great entry point to the dark arts. 👍
Thermal is the standout at night. Got the Vidar 660L dual FL LRF, got a Pard day night too. With the solid quick release mounts you can swap out scopes in under a minute theses days. Well presented video. Local content too, huntthenight seems to support a bit of action around the place ( including my bank account)
I try and keep Ben and Hunt the Night away from my wallet at all times, I’m just not always successful. 🤣 The only thing missing on the Vidar is an aftermarket mount from someone like Bobro. Thanks for the vote for the video. 👍
Impressive gear impressive shooting so Clearly impressive.
Thanks. May need to work on audio but other than that it’s a winning unit.
Hi can I ask you a question on your ThermTec thermal please.?
@@user-ez2cj7mi3eId never heard of therm tec
what slugs or pellets do you use? how much fps are you shooting them?
JSB Hades 26.5 grains at 880 fps. 👍
I'm getting dizzy watching all the faffing around. Needs editing to cut out all that wasted time.
The struggle is real. Kill shots only ya recon? Everyone would think it was easy though like playing a video game.
Too many things on the screen for me🤔, I like my scope to be plain.
It’s actually a bit less cluttered than some others I’ve used. Recording timer is useful as is the LRF distance. The rest in the top right corner running horizontal is relevant and useful all the time (the exception to that is the 50mm icon as this isn’t dual focus).
Lol this is how most of my shoots are conducted. Oh shit haven't got a round in the chamber, Ahhhh lens cap on, which button do I press for the record. Shit he got away.
I try to not make a habit out of it. As long as equipment is right the only other person to blame is myself and that can be fine tuned. 👍
Dude... that hit!!
i set up one on a mates 22lr. tested out at night with the supplied hicmicro ir torch and found it extremely sensitive and not needing much ir at all and had an exceptional picture and range. very nice scope.
Mine didn’t come with a torch. I have a few from previous NV scope use. I had the Coyote Cannon and that was massive but would have been complete overkill on this (although good for 1000 yards based on how good the scope went with the torch I had on the night).
Same rings I use on my ATN 4k pro. Just bought one of these scopes. Be good to see how it compares to the ATN. Ahhhh same as me, how the Alpex compare to the ATN?
I think the Alpex will beat the ATN hands down. Image/display and LRF built into scope are big ticks over the ATN.
There’s a new video out for the first nighttime range visit if you want to see how it goes. 😉

Congratulations on the Yak Cod. A nice milestone with a lovely fat an fit looking fish. I am thinking of heading down to Kambah Pool for a flick, I might swing by Tuggers later.
Thanks Andrew. Haven’t been to the pool for a flick as yet.
The whining noise is the wind blowing on the tight line
Cracking shot, what ammo grain and speeds you running thru your dreamline? Slugs?
Thanks Jay. JSB Hades (26.5 grain I think). Speed is 880 fps. I’ve tried a number of different slugs including the FX Hybrids but couldn’t get any of them to group no matter the tune I did. I think they either need more speed and/or a slug liner. I’ve got plenty of the JSB’s atm so I’ll keep shooting them for now.
U must be so proud
Game name
Rabbit.
This is not a video game brother
Great long distance shots. Im sure that second bunny was hit as well. Gotta ask though. Whats your honest opinion about shooting through obstacle's? Especially steel gates. Potential for ricochet? Even though it is an air rifle.
Thanks Craig. Honestly depends what’s behind the animal and how big the gap is I need to thread. Air rifle will ricochet just as much as a .22LR although with less weight probably won’t go as far or cause as much damage. Generally speaking though if I can find a way to get an angle around the obstacle I will.
Fair enough.@@OoterOutdoors
