There was a famous Chinese chef in London called Ken Lo who said virtually every western stew would benefit from a tablespoon or two of soy sauce. He was right. I put it in coq au vin, poulet chasseur etc. Just don't tell your French dinner party guests.
I'm an american here in the philippines. I enjoy your show very much. Try Bicol Express but in flour tortillas. It's like Chili Verde. Spicy pork Adobo with diced potatoes on corn tortillas. Possibilities are endless with filipino food.
My husband is making this for us tomorrow. He just put in the fridge to cook up for a an early brunch we're hosting tomorrow. He loves showing off on the grill. It's his thing. Looking forward to it since just looking amazing.
what about a chopped birria or chopped oxtail? I have been thoroughly enjoying your videos for a few years now and almost everything you have cooked is something I have truly enjoyed! Thank you for making cooking fun and entertaining. Some of the dishes are very easy to do, but some are complicated.
When I make my carne asada tacos (older son's favorite) I use lime juice, fajita seasoning (in a packet... just easier) and (because I saw you do it a couple years ago) soy sauce... it's frickin' amazing and as long as I get it a nice medium-medium rare and slice it right, it makes wonderful tacos. Thanks for that, btw!
Hello Sam all the way from Ontario, Canada! I’ve been watching your channel for about 18 months now, and have ALWAYS been curious about adding soya sauce for flavour.. Last night I had the chance while I was making dinner to use it (the goulash recipe I was using called for it) and I turned to my girlfriend and said “ Wow i’m finally getting a chance to use this like STCG always says on his channel!” And all I will say is I plan to use soya sauce much more than I do now in the future! Thanks for the great food and videos as always 👌🏻🤤
HOW in the world does Sam NOT weigh like 2 tons?!?!?!?? WHAT ever you're doing Sam to NOT gain weight from the DELICIOUS food you make..... KEEP doing it! Looking good my man!!
because he's full of crap. he posts unhealthy crap to grab your attention, he probably drinks smoothies all day and laughs at all the people watching his horrible 'recipes'
Now, just for the grins and giggles, replace the soy sauce with fish sauce. A friend of ours their in SD, CA shared how the bump they put in their marinara/red sauce is fish sauce. Do you smell it? For the first few seconds after you add it, but the umami it brings... You are welcome. 'Aight as I continued to watch and you grilled the meat, I was thinking "Oh man. Imagine putting the same marinate used for Vietnamese Pork Chops (heavy lemongrass) and doing the same>>>?"
Another great looking recipe, but are you all EVER GOING TO MIC UP MAX AND CHANCE SO WE ACTUALLY CAN HEAR WHAT THEY'RE SAYING instead of listening to inaudible murmurs? Oh, you're not? Cool.
Pork rind on top seems like an excellent addition. Got to try this, Instead of poblano, I would use hatch green chile. Hey, Sam, why not use Hatch chile in something. It is harvest season!
*chopped seafood!* Like scallops and shrimp etc maybe a little white sauce drizzle. Like a lobster roll almost but more toasty and grilled and without lobster
The choice is obvious. We need a chopped Reuben. Gotta say, I was waiting for you to add fish sauce to that marinade. A chopped Cuban with some nice Mojo pork could also be good.
The bread is pronounced "bo-lee-yo" and what you created is a pre masticated "torta de asada" Not sure how I feel about the concept, but I bet it's delicious. Having said that, I'm going to try it this weekend.
Birria grilled cheese sandwich chopped cheese style. So 3 different sandwiches, one with raw onion and Cilantro, grilled onions/ jalapeños and pickled onions.
Chopped torta, great idea. Why blend the marinade? It's just one more thing to wash. I will add chopped lettuce and tomato like a torta. And it's boh-lee-yoh. You've been in so cal long enough :) I don't think there's any Spanish word with two sets of LLs.
So, chopped Birria next? I've been following since the French onion mac and cheese, which is a total show stopper and something I bust out when I really want to blow people's minds. I haven't eaten meat in almost 20 years but I've had great success adapting your recipes (and following them with meat for the carnivores in my life). Always look forward to your uploads.
Commenting at the intro: Do Not Watch if experiencing The Munchies if you value your waist line(and possibly safety If in a state of non-sober). I could probably down 3 of those in a sitting and still crave More. You outdid yourself this time. Congrats!
maggi is similar to soy - brought over to mexico by germans (also why polka and mariachi are similar ) history is wild, especially learning about how food is influenced
Can you do a layered Nachos dish? I haven’t seen you do one. Love all the other delicious meals. But I know you can come up with something so delicious with chips and cheese with gauc and beans and meat.
@sam!! Great video as per usual, dude! Definitely trying this marinade for football Sunday. My suggestion: Dude make some pupusas! There are many variations and I think we would like to see you make the traditional pupusa vehicles, but we would love to see a STCG rendition.
Just as a joke, with Halloween coming up, make a Chopped Candy Sandwich. Just a pile of all the standard miniatures you get at Halloween, chopped up in a toasted roll. It would be a hilarious episode.
after these 2 chopped sammie vids, this may be the new way of making/serving sammiches. I mean, how could you go wrong? Everything YUMMY served up between tasty toasty bread?!
That flat meat is so e great stuff. I mainly use to make it into cube steak and stew meat but I always thought it could be used for alot of other things.
I made this tonight, honestly I think this is a great idea for a burrito?... The sandwich is super messy and unwieldly. But if you did the chopped part and put it in a tortilla? Might have something there.
I love a good sandwich and this is right up there. I doubt I would make it since I don't have a grill and I would have to use my cast iron griddle on the stove which produces too much smoke for the cheap apt style blower. But if I ever have the chance, I'll make it. The only thing I would change is use a little less filling and I would flatten it on my panini press.
It may be worth adding the cheese at the very end and torching it to bubbly on top the sandwich instead of chopping it in with the mixture. It seemed like the gooey was making the chop less consistent!
Weed and cooking is so fun but what’s even more fun is weed and eating if u wants to be healthy just don’t smoke blunts papers are fine and glass is just pure weed nothing else but search it up it’s be proven weed has no connection to cancer as in it won’t cause it but what u smoke it with can as blunts is ofc tobacco but hey I love me a grape white owl and a Russian cream
I havent made this yet, but this has to be one of the most mouth watering looking recipes you've ever made. You rock dude.
My mouth is watering!!!😍
What if you took the sandwich and then chopped it up AND PUT IT INTO ANOTHER SANDWICH?
I’d call it THE DEATH SANDWICH
@@rarebrowntal1643beat me to it😂
Sandwich inception….sandception
The world isn’t ready for that amount of power.

Next chopped sandwich: the big sandwich Thornton Melon makes in "Back to School"

I feel the same way about Marmite!
Sometime use both Soya and Marmite!
Especially any Beef dishes.
Marmite? GTFOH!
I might try this with black beans instead of french fries. looks amazing!
This came together beautifully, Sam! Thank you for showing us how it's done and the recipe! You're the BFF
Sam’s carne recipe is the bomb. The soy and brown sugar really make it too. I have been making it for years now and people love it. Thanks Sam!
I use a kiwi in my carne asada marinade for the last 30 minutes or so. The enzymes are a natural meat tenderizer and it tastes great.
I'm an american here in the philippines. I enjoy your show very much.

The trick to getting the juice out of a lime, as with a lemon. Make sure the lime/lemon is at room temperature, then roll it with a bit of preasure!

Sam is gangster
Btw, could you please make your own version of the New Haven-style white clam🍕 Thanks 🙏
Love the way this came together! Looks to be on my to do list very soon. 😎
Happy New Year!
I wanna see that rigatoni pie looking thing lol 4:48

Get tamari if you can. Real soy, no wheat! Great healthy flavour...
How about a green chile pork stew since its getting colder. One of my favs!

He recently did a video on what he eats on a more regular basis to stay healthy. 😎
I heard spermatazoa is "breaking the internet" as the next great diet food.

San Diego has a great year-round climate, with many trails and bike paths, all helpful to work off some of that carne asada.
He shares the meal with his wife, son, son's friend etc.
Now, just for the grins and giggles, replace the soy sauce with fish sauce. A friend of ours their in SD, CA shared how the bump they put in their marinara/red sauce is fish sauce. Do you smell it? Got a love that the correct box is checked on your shirt!!
Another great looking recipe, but are you all EVER GOING TO MIC UP MAX AND CHANCE SO WE ACTUALLY CAN HEAR WHAT THEY'RE SAYING instead of listening to inaudible murmurs?
Oh, you're not?
Cool.
Great marinade! I do think that adding the zest/juice of an orange takes it to the moon.
Gotta do a chopped pizza!! Pepperoni, sausage, meatball, onion, banana peppers, arugula, sauce, and mozz.
Pork rind on top seems like an excellent addition. Got to try this, Instead of poblano, I would use hatch green chile. Hey, Sam, why not use Hatch chile in something. It is harvest season!

Hear me out, turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, potatoes, squash, and gravy. Chops-giving!
Would love to see you guys try Chesapeake chicken. Chicken, old bay, and crab. What's not to love
Been using Sam’s Carne Recipe forever, it has never failed to delight!
100% it’s the best carne asada. I’ve brought it to Mexican parties and it blows everyone away!
I started using Soy Sauce to replace salt in all kinds of cooking after Sam's pro tip. It really is a nice flavor addition.

Trying adding a teaspoon of Liquid Smoke to the marinade. Next level stuff I tell ya.
Another chopped sandwich idea, turkey, cranberry, sausage stuffing.... Thanksgiving!

Something Sweet for Dinner & Something Savory for Desert
I've been putting soya sauce in a lot of dishes too. It's not weird or automatically Chinese its delicious!
The soy sauce in this really does work. Our go-to recipe and we’ve always received good feedback.
Make some pupusas, Sam!!! They're SO GOOD!!!
9:58 Did I just hear pepperoni jack?
How about a Carnitas Pizza!? With Cowboy Butter, and Avocado slices?!?
The Internet barely came back online from the last sandwhich. Stop breaking the internet!
Ahhhh fries IN the sandwich! Reminds me of Primanti Bros. in Pittsburgh! Amazing

Should’ve made it like a torta and put some refried beans on one of the sides of the bun and maybe some crema on the other
That basically was a torta 🙂
Roberto's carne asada in a sandwich sounds awesome.

Hands down the BEST carne asada. It’s a regular menu idea I’m our house.
Gotta get me some of that pepperoni-jack cheese!
Best carne asada recipe ever. I easily have it 2-4 times a month. My family loves it
I think a great series would be to create your spin on the dishes served in the movie "Menu"
Awesome! How about a chopped Bahn Mi? 🤩
I love this recipe I use it every time I make this cut of steak and other cuts like this steak
That flat meat is so e great stuff. I mainly use to make it into cube steak and stew meat but I always thought it could be used for alot of other things.
Pepperoni jack cheese? Classic! 😄
If you don't want to use soy, you can substitute coconut aminos or even worchestershire sauce
Or Marmite! Great on any beef dish
mexicans know grandmas are not the ones who make carne asada, thats for man tradicionaly, but as a mexican this looks really good!
Love the shirt😅😅
Recipe request. Hobo dinner! Love the channel.
Pepperoni Jack!? Lol 9:58
I will make this, add cheese, and put it under the broiler, before serving.
Sam, made this it's wonderful, I also drizzled the marinade on the sandwich later for added flavour kick. So nice
Coupla heavy coats of varnish and you could surf on that chicharrone.
What the people need is Gochujang week, but man does that sandwich look tasty!
Basically a carne asada burrito in a roll instead of a tortilla.
GGs reinventing the Torta Sam
Since the Chopped Salad Sandwich, have created variants... This was not one of them! Thank you, coming to my kitchen this week, Sam!!!
It looks sooooooooooooooooo good
😋😋😋
Coincidentally, I made STCG carne asada with the avocado cream sauce last night. It’s ALWAYS a huge hit.
one time sam mentioned making a smoked shrimp enchilada, would love to see that finally get made
This sandwich looks delicious!
phylly cheese sando/ using ground beef?/bell peppers/ string cheese..
Chopped meatball Parm, eggplant Parm and/or (and!) chicken Parm. Boom!
I made this tonight, honestly I think this is a great idea for a burrito?... The sandwich is super messy and unwieldly. But if you did the chopped part and put it in a tortilla? Might have something there.
Just finished prep. I’m making this for my crew at the racetrack tomorrow night.
Looks delicious. Heartburn 😅
As a Welshman I'd be interested to see your take on laverbread and cockles - it's certainly something to push most out of their comfort zone 😂
What about a Full English breakfast chopped sandwich??
I've made this sandwich a few times now and it's delicious, I've even chopped and fried off a few pieces of chorizo and it takes it to another level
Damn that sounds and looks good, thanks from Michigan Sam…..gonna try it

Could You make your version of beef Wellington.. looking forward to it ❤️👍👍 love from Spain
I’ve tried to convince him to make it few months ago😅
I’m also curious about his version of it
Ok Sam... You've always shined my ideas for the next cook so here goes nothing. A chopped seafood sandwich. Come on man!!
This one looks so good. So amazingly good.
Sam you are a genius. Best carne asada ever
You flip those steaks and my mouth starts watering!
It may be worth adding the cheese at the very end and torching it to bubbly on top the sandwich instead of chopping it in with the mixture. It seemed like the gooey was making the chop less consistent!
