Music to my ears! I'll be heading off to the beach at dawn tomorrow, with my trusty old CS990XD, to do my civic duty and clean up all the coins that have been dropped over the bank holiday. I'll especially be listening out for that nice clean pound coin squeak. :-)

I had a 1220xd and ill tell ya now,you've gotta listen for very faints rises in the threshold.I did a field for years and found many finds,but all of a sudden I started to hit everything because it was little rises in the thresh that deeper signals don't give the sooty and sweep.
Good tool,but nothing like my ETRAC

Yes dig faint signals that give no meter movement , these are targets right at the edge of detection.

Had a really weird day not long ago found a 400 yr old shilling and a brooch both were silver and way deeper than I thought they would be about 7 inches .I wasn't getting many signals but noticed a slight rise in pitch ,quite faint so I dug them ,I was really surprised 😯.I bought this detector back in 1993 it still plays up occasionally but I still like it's clear iron indication , better than my vanquish 540 especially on larger iron

Excellent machine and one that makes you take a more accurate approach.Go slow and steady with this machine and you will be surprised how effective they can be,especially in areas that contain a lot of ferous targets.The strength of this machine is the fact you can sweep the coil very slowly so there is a good chance that you can find good targets next to ferous objects,just don't be tempted to rush over a field like a lot of detectorists do and don't try to overpower it on the sensitivity setting.
A detector that can genuinely claim to make a field come alive again,particularly one that has a lot of small iron in it.......as long as you have the patience to search an area more thoroughly than you would normally do with a motion machine.

Only good for coins down to 4 or 5 inches. The faint signals if dug may get you a coin down to 6 Inches. Not a bad detector 👍

I am getting used to my machine, BUT did you alter the sensitivity levels for these samples. The settings used would be very helpful.

@@jimbmaldon Looks like "meter and audio discrimination" was selected and the sensitivity as high as possible without the detector becoming unstable.

C.Scope Metal Detectors thank you martin i want the 990 non-motion i have some very heavy nail ridden areas i want to relic hunt and my current detector barley functions in those conditions and i think your audiodisc non motion detectors is exactly what i need

@@CScopeMetalDetectors the cscope 1220r. Was that a good detector? Never seen many videos on that model
