A very well done presentation. Really useful for a Newbie to the hobby whom has as a first machine the 1220xd.
Far more informative than the other reviews. Well done.

Good review. Did notice that at some points your swing was a little high and rising up at the edges. You seemed to be afraid to get the coil dirty. I think you could have gained an extra 2 inches depth on the deep test bed. But having said all that, the video was excellently presented and you did a good job. Thanks for posting it.

Hello Chris! WOW! Even quick machines like my DeepTech Vista Gold would stand a (good) chance of failing this test. You used a thick rusty spike no less. I used just a medium shiny new nail pointed to and touching either side of my coins and I used one of the harder coins to detect on these dedicated nailboard tests; a U.S. 10-Cent Dime. A lot of people use the larger coins but that's too easy a test I believe and to (really) test (any) detector's capabilities, one should really use the much smaller coins instead. My Vista Gold (will) find a dime at 12"+ though but I would never want to use this same detector in the average park as you'd be on your hands and knees digging aluminium beer can rubbish the whole day through, lol. It can only turn the older pulls from the 70s to a low tone but can't, surprisingly, low-tone on the tinfoil. Guess since it's a gold/deep relic detector, it was more designed for the farm fields and pastures where one finds much older items, instead of the mountains of modern rubbish in parks.

Crikey - you've got it in for C-Scope haven't you? Have you EVER used one of them by any chance or do you just troll around giving snide useless remarks on these detectors?
They are a detectorists detector - period. They give excellent results and are calibrated specifically for general conditions in Britain but will work anywhere in the world with a little bit of know how. By the way - most desirable objects are within the first 6 inches and you have to walk over it to find it.

I think the problem you are having with the new coins is because they are now made with an iron core. The detector is probably rejecting them. This is not a cscope problem as my friends detector from another leading brand does the same. Very nice video

I have found a few gold rings with the 1220 c scopes. For rings and modern coins not deeper than 5 inches they are super.

They are not the deepest seeking machines the 1220 's but they can find modern coinage from trashy sites really well I find. Iron / ID rejection is very good.
They are pretty hot on things like silver sixpences and modern 5p / 20p coins. Cupro nickels. you can pick up an old 1220B Or CS 1220 off e-bay for under an hundred quid - Well worth buying I would never sell mine, in a nutt shell - cheap detector that can find things. The more you practice with these the more you find..

I find the All metal G mode to be quite a lot more sensitive than discrimination mode or meter audio discrimination mode. The all metal g mode is very good.

I've got one, what I don't like about it is the signal you hear, sort of a dull sound, even finding coins, why can't it be a bell sound like the Garret or a sharp ping like the earlier C-Scopes.

I iron the ground with my coil on my 1220 - squeezing every last bit of depth out of the machine. This guy is loosing an inch easily with his high swing.

Hello, I would like to ask a question. I have a C.scope CS1220xd metal detector and I think something is wrong. When I turn it on the signal emits a normal tone but immediately it starts to get darker and lower, it starts to drop. It doesn't matter what mode it's in. Could you help me? I don't know if it needs a repair or a reset. I'm going to try to send you a video I made today in Spanish. Thanks greetings.th-cam.com/video/Wqw2c6vgMqQ/w-d-xo.html
