Oh right? I have no idea on the matter as that part of the war is something I know almost zero about. Interesting point, is it something that could be easily fixed when you get the models yourself? By using greenstuff, etc?

@@paintingpanzers I really like the Dragon kits as well but the detail on them isn't on par with the modern kits from such company's as IBG among many. It's possible that IBG have fielded every Japanese tank. They've also made quite a lot of Commonwealth armour and vehicles.

Yeah, that was my biggest issue with this set. However, the plastic figures actually painted up better than I thought they would! I made a tutorial on painting them recently if you want to see some painted examples.

Yeah, the black boots were meant to be dark brown ... I got my info wrong on that one! Brown trousers were an early War US uniform, they switched to green when adopting the M43 uniform. I do acknowledge that some brown were still in service up until the end of the war due to logistic issues. Brown on Brown doesn't look good on the tabletop. Hence, the green (m43). The canteen should be black but due to its size I painted it silver to make it pop more on the tabletop. I hope this clears up a few things!

@paintingpanzers I bought the starter set at Warlord's Open Day. I was going to assemble and paint the Fallschimjager's first, but you have inspired me to prioritise the Americans. I am working on an huge "Battle of the Bulge Mega Project", and I really need to get some US forces up and running.

Hi mate 👋 welcome to the channel! Most prime in black and then use a light layer over the top to give the basecoat a worn look without the need to modulate. I decided against that with this particular build as I wanted the colours to be brighter (hence the light grey). I've got a 1/72 Vespid Panther that'll feature as a video soon and I used a black primer for that. In terms of the camouflage, I tend to follow paint guides from reference material found online or using the manufacturers guide (in this case the Dragon manual). I did paint the barrel in a different scheme but that is far from unrealistic as this has been seen in photos from the period 😊

I think the reference photo I used for the boots were dark brown and I mistook that for black. Great spot haha.

Yeah, I agree with those points for sure. Have you checked out Newline Designs 1/72 Early War Range? It's not huge but they're lovely models.

That is definitely a great point, it's a project you can keep for an age without having to keep it stored in a cupboard taking up valuable real estate! I see Henry has a lot of other ranges on offer so I can see why you're a tribe member ;)

That is something I also found to be an area that was overly exaggerated. I think like most things, this will be improved upon with future releases but again it's one of those ranges that you'll either like or dislike. I think the preview photos make the proportion exaggeration look worse in fairness.
