Very cool! Congratulations on living a mindful, minimalistic debt-free life!🎉❤🎉 For a number of years I had a mortgage but no debt. Five years ago I sold my home, got rid of 70% of my possessions and paid cash for house 5 times smaller, on a 1/2 acre on a river, across the street from a quaint city park. Perfect for walking Bearymore Bear and foraging. Being debt free is so liberating. It actually took a little over 6 months before I stopped stressing over a mortgage payment I no longer had! All my bills combined (sinking fund for property taxes, utilities, insurance etc) are less than my former mortgage. Which in the scheme of things wasn't that high, but without my late husband's income it had become a bit of a challenge. Anyway, I celebrated 5 years of debt free living in June! Well done you two!!! 🎉❤🎉
Wow!! You are a true inspiration. Well done. Hopefully, we can follow in your footsteps once we've rebuilt our savings after the recent lack of work. 😄
Hi, I've been watching you two for years. I've been a minimalist since 2019 and it transformed my life forever. I don't buy things unless I need them. To save money on clothing I go to the thrift store. I some times find clothing brand new from the department stores a place I would go and pay full price. I 'm single and I don't need a lot of anything. Thanks for posting. Love Renee` from Florida
Hi Renee`, we appreciate you sticking with us for so long! 😍 We're excited to get back to town so we can go thrifting again too. It's a little slim picking out here in Smallville. 😑
Greetings again from Australia! Loved this clip. I too am debt free and love it so much. Ive been working on ways to save money lately (without forgoing dining out now and again, one of my favourite things to do). Ive been doing this by numerous ways and loving it. Ive always enjoyed a frugal life style but Ive never felt like I missed out on anything. The cost of living is so high atm, especially food and petrol so I'm concentrating on cutting back in these two areas. Love the bloopers as usual.
Hello Aussie pal! There's fun to be had in frugal living, isn't there? It's not all hard work and deprivation. We're also officially debt free again since selling our apartment! 🥳
@MostlyMindful That's fantastic! Isn't being debt free the greatest feeling in the world. It's amazing. Congratulations to the both of you! It's a relief to be debt free.
A new video. Hooray🎉🎉🎉 Fantastic! So true about weathering financial storms. We found that by living a more minimalist/ intentional lifestyle the overhead carrying costs are so much smaller..it was an unexpected benefit. No TV, no cable or satellite tv costs, and so on. Inspiring, as always. Have a blessed evening 🙏🕉️
Once you start really examining your spending, it's amazing to see how and where you can save money, like those you mentioned. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. The plan is to go back to posting twice a week. 😁
@@MostlyMindful when you get "rich" first thing you have to invest is a good microphone. I have hearing deficiencies so sometimes I hear you from far away ( ja, ja)

Love your channel... I'm a boomer minimalist bordering on extreme but I live with my husband and adult son. They are consumers of note and bring all their purchases home which drives me mad. It's difficult when all are not minimalist. They are trying hard but tend to be gatherers!! Sometimes I declutter their stuff!!! But that often lands me in 'trouble'. Keep up the videos and your sense of humor.... Love it!
Yay, we really appreciate it when viewers say they enjoy our videos. Seriously, it makes us happy knowing we're making a difference in some way, even if it's just making people laugh with our bloopers. As for your husband and son, yeah, it's probably best not to declutter what's theirs (tempting as it is). 🤣 See if you can "force" them to watch my TEDx talk. It might spark them into action. 😁
Love your channel - I have now reached a low enough volume level of stuff that is good for me, and it is so wonderful to feel so lightweight. There will always be more books that I can get (either bought or on what in the USA is the interlibrary loan system), as well as art /craft supplies. It is actually easier for me to cook with only having two knives and one pan (and in all the world cuisines I love, people are cookign with very simple equipment and ingredients). And now it is getting to be time to make the journey that Kabir did "I felt the need for a great pilgrimage, so I sat in silence for three days".
Isn't it incredible how light and freeing it feels to live with less? 😃I love the quote you included at the end. Will you be making a pilgrimage soon? We do a Silence Retreat through the Art of Living at least 1-2 times a year. So rejuvenating. 😍
We sold the TV when we sold everything else in 2008. Best decision ever! 😎 We watch things on our laptops sometimes, but we're very considered in our viewing choices nowadays. Back when we had a TV we'd watch anything and everything. 😵💫
Apologies Caroline! ❤We had the mic close to us like we always do, but I was experimenting with different audio settings during editing. Clearly, they did not work so we won't do that again! 🤓
Love your video thank you. To simplify my life I make sure I don't go overboard with buying new things for my hobbies. I love art journaling and I am conscious in keeping my stationery to a minimum... Because you don't really need a lot and all I have to do is get more creative 😊 But you can imagine how tempting it is to buy this gold pen or that fine liner 😅. Lots of love ❤
It can be hard to dial back the spending when you're doing something you love, whether that's creative journalling or building a TH-cam channel. But try we must, right? 😀
100% agree. Living simple and debt free is the best. Love your channel!
Thank you, Courtney. Comments like this mean so much to us, as we work really hard to make videos that are actually helpful. 😍
