Have a "Cury" branded military dial, nh35, saphire crystal, on leather strap for 1 year. Bought onsale for $38, used daily, changesd brakes, swam with, showered, and beat the crap out of....looks like new, keeps excellent time, very comfortable. Thanks for your mistake purchase and review.
I LOVE the logo! I have 2 Tandorio watches, and they would be so naked without it. The stylised Tandorio "T" reminds me of classic Talbot cars, is very reminiscent of the Art Deco period, would fit right in, and could be a blazing grill or hood ornament on a roadster of the pre-WW2 period! It fits right in with express trains and Hercule Poirot sitting at a street-cafe table, pondering a new case with Hastings ready to fire up the car. I have NO idea what is wrong with Jordi not seeing this for the very tasteful design it is!
I'm in the same boat. I've had my Khaki homage for about two years now and it's endured all of the rigor I've put it through... including a few hard whacks against door knobs.
I have a couple of Tandorios and they are an incredible value for the small amount of money spent. I prefer the one with the logo because it gives a balanced look to the dial. Besides, I’ve NEVER had anyone get close enough to my watch to read the name on it!
I own several Tandorios and the are incredible value for money. Usually they offer the p9ssibility od a sterile dial if you dont luke the name or the logo.
I purchased a Tandorio cream dial, Roman numeral hour markers, automatic, 200m, screwdown crown watch a while ago. Believe it or not it’s very, very good. No date window. Excellent power reserve and accuracy. NH 35 and sapphire crystal. Maybe about $58. 40mm. An unusually good product in my experience. The Tandorio logo is not offensive by the way.

Amazing watch. I never understood your original video (well, understood it a bit). Bought mine anyway and loved it. I'm glad you're revisiting your view on this watch. A Titanium GMT for this money is insane. Also, Tandorio may be a problem brand in the British-dominated world, but for everyone else, it's just another foreign-sounding brand, no different to Erebus (I know that hurts, but to anyone speaking Spanish, they are not different at all).
I've bought several Tandorrio watches, HUGE value, can't beat the movement. I bought several extra of those straps, very soft but if you sweat a lot they will turn the wrist orange
I've almost bought several and still might. The name never bugged me and I mostly dislike a no branded watch as it makes it seems cheaper than they all ready are. Incredibly value for money.

I have purchased several Tandorio watches with sterile dials and I’m very happy with them . One with a NH35 and one with PT5000 movement. They both keep good time and are well made and you can’t beat the price. They do give you the option of adding your own logo for an additional charge .
I’m really glad you’ve relented, Tandorios are great value - I have three military-style ones and I love them. Yes, it’s a daft name but the build quality is exceptional for the money.
A theoretical solution to the sterile top of the dial…have the brand logo (which is a stylized T) without the silly “Tandorio” brand name below it 🤷♂️
I have a Tandorio field watch, and it works for me. Perhaps if I was still in junior high school, the name might bother me. Funny but nobody seems to have a problem with the name Studio Underdog.
I'm onto my 4th or 5th Tandorio. An outstanding base for modding, as they cost so little. I was going to buy a titainium case for my s/steel field/pilot watch but a whole watch was less than £10 more than just a case. Very useful, as it turned out, as one of the phantom date must have accidently got changed in the 9 to 3 zone and broke a tooth, which I found in the case, and the movement abitarilly stops irrespective of wind. That movement, case and strap (so a complete watch) is in the spares and repairs box. I still swapped the internals of my original s/steel into the titanium as I prefered the dial and hands on the s/steel. I subsequently bought another complete s/steel field/pilot to fit a bronze case as I wanted a bronze one, which they didn't do at the time. And I agree regarding titanium (and bronze) buckles. My favorite poorly named watch company is actually an old Swiss brand: Renis. In particular, their script logo with the big fancy R, which easily looks like a P at a quick glance, cracks me up every time.
I've bought a few tandorios *specifically* for the purposes of modding. Cheap enough to scratch the itch without guilt, and since quite a few of them have a Seiko-standard 28.5mm dial, there are tons of options out there for customization. You get a solid movement, sapphire, and a good-enough case. So just swap out the dial and hands, and your lume problem is solved too.
Thanks for the review Jody! I've purchased watch parts from Tandorio (including that same GMT dial in black, and that exact GMT hand set), but I wasn't aware that they sold whole watches.
Idk I own 3 mysterious code watches and I don’t mind the name. Not to mention there engineer homage is one of the best u can buy I got mine for $50 and I love it.
I like the fact Tandorio almost always has a sterile option, but I prefer when there isn't any text below the pinion too, it gives better visual balance. They have some truly sterile fliegers I'm really fond of.
I thought you were a little hard on Tandorio in that original video. I has an appropriate amount of vowels to consonants, and they are arranged in a manageable Anglophone order. Nice watch. All the best from Calgary.
I for one not just like, but actually love the logo, and with the spelled out name below it always in excellent proportion to the dial and indices, it is in a class by itself! I've got a custom build I did using a bronze Tandorio case. It's a nice case. And it's an odd size, so I had trouble finding the right parts, so I messaged them, and they responded back quickly and gave me all the dimensions I needed. Good company, I'm a Tandorio fan.
I have a Tandorio that I bought because it's the spitting image of my late dad's Rolex. It's a Fifty Fathoms homage with a Hamilton Murph dial. And it's one of my favorites. The fact that it reminds me of curry as well is a bonus.
I bought a couple of sterile Tandorios, they are unbelievably cheap and well specd, and a huge variety of models. Hot take: they're the new Aliexpress standard in terms of value for money.
Rmalti changed their name - to"Rimalti", which is not ideal. But they really do make some nice watches. I have their 36mm with a GS style case and cocktail time type dial which I really like.,
I've got 3 Tandorio (all sterile dial tho for obvious reasons); 62mas, Willard and generic Field Watch and all brilliant value/quality and all cost +/- £40. Despite being hugely sceptical initially, they are now one of my go tos.
I bought a Tandorio GMT and liked it so much, I bought a second one. Very simple, easy to read, wears comfortably enough. But I got different straps that I didn't like. Just as well, since I'm a big guy and they didn't fit my eight inch wrist. My cream dial got a brown leather strap, and the blue one looks pretty good on a mesh bracelet.
I have a Tandorio, 36mm sinn style. I wear it all the time, one of my favorite watches for $55. 200m, +3 sec/day, sapphire, tough watch I don't have to worry about. I don't even mind the name but mine is sterile. Cheers!
Bring the watch to a watchmaker and ask them to extract the dial, then bring it to a graphic artist and see if they can fill in the empty spot. Probably cost you more than the watch, but you'll have a one of a kind piece.
And WHY not buy it with the logo in the first place? I have 2 Tandorios. The logo is a modern design classic, as far as I am concerned! Shunning it is an insult to the watchmakers producing these gems. The stylised Tandorio "T" reminds me of classic Talbot cars, is very reminiscent of the Art Deco period, would fit right in, and could be a blazing grill or hood ornament on a roadster of the pre-WW2 period! I recently purchased a Tandorio diver for $45 US and LOVE it. There were many dial choices. I picked a plain black dial with 24 hr. Numbers under 12 hr. Ones. No logo.
No logo? These Tandorios are homages of British MoD W10 types in either Smiths round case, or Hamilton tonneau, and the dials were NEVER "sterile", but had makers' names and logos printed on them. Getting one without logo is not just taking the fun out of the watch-face, but also an insult to a fine watch company, that deserves to be recognised. The ONLY "sterile" military watches were those made for Hitler's Wehrmacht, all others had names and logos.
I bought a Pagani Designs PD-1639 with a Seiko NH35A movement, 316 steel, sapphire glass and a ceramic bezel insert. I paid £43 for it. Just incredible specifications for the price. It has better specs than all of my other watches in my collection YET I don't wear it. I took it off the bracelet as the male end links gave it a real lug-to-lug of almost 57 mm; however, on a strap it fits my 185 mm wrist. BUT I still don't wear it. I can't explain it. But value does not mean you will wear a watch.
Well Jody, just watched "the perfect wrist" review the ascent and what an incredible review, it was the green dial version and it looks stunning. To say that he was impressed is an understatement and more that once reffered it to the watch release of the year.. the comments on his review were in agreement. Congratulations to both of you, I will in time get the orange one.. just out of budget this month after a recent Phoibos Eagle Ray red gmt and a Baltany chrono which is on the way.... Best wishes from Ireland... Niall.
I really like that. I have bought cases from that brand to build my own unique watches and they were fine. I have realized that I was paying more for the sum of the parts than I could buy a complete watch. And I was buying parts faster than I was actually putting them together. So I might just buy this during the upcoming sale.
I still remember that video long ago where Jody bagged on Tandorio. I knew he'd come around someday. Sterile dials are ugly unless there's NO words though. I personally don't have a problem with Tandorio's name, and the "T" logo is actually pretty cool. Try a proper Tandorio, Jody. You might be pleasantly surprised.
I’ve got that saved on my wishlist, and I may or may not get it. I love the design, but watching your video made me realize that the Addiesdive GMT is homaging the same Grand Sieko. I just went with model that has the 24 hours on the bezel. I like the look more, giving it more of the tool watch look, rather than a dress watch.
Ha! That’s funny how you came about getting the watch. Ironically, I actually don’t mind some of the other brands’ names like Rdunae and Octopus Kraken, but I don’t think I can bring myself to get a Tandorio (for the same reason). It’s an INSANE amount of watch you get for the money though… thanks for showing it to us!
Pretty nice looking watch. As I prefer not to travel, I'm not in love with the GMT complication though. I'm going in an all together different direction myself having just ordered a Sea2Sea Panarea and my first Danish watch brand - an Orloff Dunes. Both watches use Swiss quartz movements and neither have a date window - another first for me. Oh, and I got them for 50% and 63% off the RRP.
I have one Tandorio and it's one of the better built watches I own. The polishing is great, saphire crystal, quick adjust bracelet, screw down crown, and a NH34 movement.
I own three Tandorio watches, the pilot one which has the same case as that one but stainless and completely sterile dial. Great watch for 30 quid. Bought a better leather strap. But I also the other two are well made with all the usual specs for the money. The value is there.
I've had a Tandorio California Dial that I sold because it felt a bit like a brick on my wrist, although it was only 36mm. I think you've sold the mistery with the comment on that case back. Cheers !
Love the channel Jody, keep it up! I was particularly chuffed with your comments on Pag-R-ni, so say I who was wearing a Pag-R-ni GMT while watching this episode which I am quite chuffed with (the watch that is). At times though I am a bit confused over lume criticisms. My test is that if I can still tell the time on the watch at 6am with my head under the bedclothes then the lume is good. The Pag-R-Ni makes it well onto daylight! What's not to like? At my age I can't read the 0.5mm logo text, who can?
Tandorio is bad but is it ever as bad as Phylida. I bought a Tandiro GMT Rolex lookalike and instead of the Tandorio name for 20 bucks they put on my own custom name and did a very good job of it.
Mysterious Code was fine. I have a fun bright blue one..in rotation for weekend service. Some of these are... ok. Its hilarious how some of these watches are named. Part of me thinks the factory thinks if they slap English letters on something as well as a low price, people will buy it, and it seems to be true.
To quote Shalespeare - "Tandorio, Tandorio, where for art thou Tandorio" I recently purchased a Tandorio Willard Homage because it had a mother of pearl dial and I kept toing & froing between the Tandorio logo version and the sterile which looked unbalanced with the blank area above the pinion. In the end I decided that no one else looks that closely at the brand on your watch and eventually they probably will become a well known brand like Addies anyway so went with the curry
NOT curry, CRIKEY, where is Jodi getting that from? Look at my history of Tandorio as a brand-name and its true roots! GOOD for you to have the logo on the dial, which is a modern Art-Deco revival design classic!
@@owenlaprath4135 Tandoori dishes are typically seasoned with spices such as cumin, coriander, garam masala, turmeric, garlic, ginger, and chili pepper. It sounds like you could say that tandoori is a specific way of cooking that also includes curry spices.
I buy Tandorio purely to mod. I generally put different dials and hand sets on them - its the cheapest way to get 36-39mm 316L SS, Sapphire crystal and an NH movement to mod into funky dress watches with 200m water resistance. I wanted a Captain Willard in titanium, and sure enough, Tandorio makes one. I bought it for a more than fair price, and I love it. And it actually has decent lume. I have one other Tandorio that has a bunch of lume that is, however, truly awful.
I like that, especially at the price. I recently bought a cheap Militado field watch, which I'm very pleased with. But its name keeps bringing the name Nelly Furtado to mind. Maybe it's just me.
I absolutely love watches, the high end watch brands are out of my budget but the MAMACOO has literally an almost duplicate of every single watch on the market . Always a great but no matter your budget.
As far as I can tell, I have a watch with the exact same strap. It started to delaminate shortly after I started wearing it. So how much should one spend on a strap for this $60 watch?
I bought one of these. It’s quite a nice watch. Unfortunately I received the steel version in a package marked titanium. I have contacted them. Let’s see how this goes.
Yeah. You shouldn't have banned Tandorio. They're one of the only Ali brands that offer sterile dial versions of their watches. Not to mention a plethora of options like dial style, dial color, case material. Though it could be attributed to them being a parts bin assembly brand rather than an actual brand like Pagani or Addiesdive imho. The only concern would be as Gary from I Like Watches pointed out, they've got bad seals so moderately deep dive is a no-no.
Shame on you Jody! I wanted but avoided the brand and a lovely ruby dial 36 mm with auto movement and sapphire, small money too. Keep coming back to it, no frills but the dial is a sunburst ruby red and a wee cushion case 🤗
I have two Tandorios, and both of them have the same issue - the bottom extends so much that the watch always feels like its levitating on your wrist. This is the only reason I avoid wearing them.

My favorite watch channel without a doubt.I’m happy to spend my money on MAMACOO watches. I’ve never been let down by their products
It fits right in with express trains and Hercule Poirot sitting at a street-cafe table, pondering a new case with Hastings ready to fire up the car.
Great video, Jody.
Kudos for specifying the type of GMT - caller, in this case. ☎️
I didn't buy it to pay any homage to anything. I bought it because I like the look of what I purchased and it was a good deal.
I’ve looked at what is certainly a very similar case for a build, so I was particularly interested in this review
Camp Crystal Lake Counselor LOL! I guess Jason didn't get you Jody 😂🤣
I bought a Tornek Rayville homage from them. Cool diver a true "homage" from a iconic time piece.
I like Tandorio with the esterile dials
Pretty nice looking watch. As I prefer not to travel, I'm not in love with the GMT complication though.
I'm going in an all together different direction myself having just ordered a Sea2Sea Panarea and my first Danish watch brand - an Orloff Dunes. Both watches use Swiss quartz movements and neither have a date window - another first for me. Oh, and I got them for 50% and 63% off the RRP.
I have an Octopus Kraken and it's crackin good.
That’s a very nice value watch. Great find and thx for the video.
Blancpain means white bread in French.
With tandorio i get the "steeldive vibe" if you know. Got a skx hommage and it feels great in hand despite the incredibly low price
The hand quality is much better than that of Paganis' hands which tend to look like balloon animal, soft, roundy edges.
But Tandorio's look sharp.
Really nice watch and I'd consider one at that price. Not sure whether to wait for their next release though...'The Balti Master'.
200m water resistance should be taken with a large spade of salt.
With an O ring screw down back, and screw down crown, (assuming you screw down the crown) there isn't much that can go wrong.
@@beakyturbot I'm not saying they aren't waterproof, but without proper testing, you just have the word of a Chinese manufacturer.
@@beakyturbot 200 meters? I don't believe that for a minute.
@@hb9145 As you say, but why? It isn't rocket science to achieve it. They include all of the correct design elements and these are simple enough.
I agree with you about the brand name. However, they are a great base watch for modding.
I got an unbranded Tandorio last year and it’s pretty decent quality for the price.

Tandoori dishes are typically seasoned with spices such as cumin, coriander, garam masala, turmeric, garlic, ginger, and chili pepper. Other spices also add color, with red coming from ground annatto seeds and yellow from saffron.
Curry powder typically contains at least the following spices: Turmeric, Cumin, Ginger, and Black pepper.
It sounds like you could say that tandoori is a specific way of cooking that also includes curry spices.
Just noticed a typo - it should be "Shakespeare"
I much prefer the Addiesdive Quartz GMT due to it’s dimensions and the dial layout and date at the 6
Amazing value if one wanted a field style GMT strap monster. Thx Jody!
It's a shame that your affiliate link is only for the cream dial, it also comes in black or pale blue, with or without a water ripple texture.
I buy Tandorio purely to mod. I generally put different dials and hand sets on them - its the cheapest way to get 36-39mm 316L SS, Sapphire crystal and an NH movement to mod into funky dress watches with 200m water resistance. Always check the tightness of the caseback though, I've had at least two that were not tight enough out of the box. The name is ok, if you think of it as mexican or spanish!!
CAUGHT YOU! They are good enough to sell as faked anything, so should we report you as a counterfeit crook?
@@owenlaprath4135 custom sterile dials to celebrate certain things, such as a football team, yellow ribbon day etc. Something you cannot buy at all and certainly not counterfeit.

I wanted a Captain Willard in titanium, and sure enough, Tandorio makes one. I bought it for a more than fair price, and I love it. And it actually has decent lume. I have one other Tandorio that has a bunch of lume that is, however, truly awful.
I have 2 Tandorios granted they are sterile dials, and except for severely needing a layer of ARC or two, I think they are a great value for the money
In Iowa i am like what the F is curry lol. like my Tandorio., makes as much sense airybus. still like your channel though.
I love the blasted case ( I severely dislike polished cases ).
Smart of them to invest in a decent strap. I appreciate that!!
I like that, especially at the price. I recently bought a cheap Militado field watch, which I'm very pleased with. But its name keeps bringing the name Nelly Furtado to mind.
Maybe it's just me.
That's a nice looking watch and like the two Tandorio watches I already own a complete bargain!
It does look good, your video shows it much better than their website
I have a bronze 1903 trench watch in bronze. I got the sterile dial and it is awesome.
As far as lume is concerned, it would 😮 if they were to come with a full BGW9 lumed dial (like the Zelos Frost dials. Wow!
Roma Die Uno Non Aedificata Est - RDUNAE. But my favourite Ali name is Muff Diver. You can't beat that.
I’d use a MN style para strap on it, all the watches that have crappy protruding are backs get those for me, and it solves all issues 😊
Have the Tandorio Murphy homage. Bought the red sandwich dial versión (ca. 50€) because it is different from the original. Put it on a red tropic, wore it this summer, and has gone in the pool and the ocean. No problems, just a colorfull watch. Regards
I'm ok with any watch that reminds me to go get some curry and the dial is so full a sterile dial actually works for it
I think that is a fair value proposition in the discount sweeps
Thanks for the review. However i doubt this watch will be in Jody's collection in a year. No 'long term' about this one.
Compré hace un año un Tandorio a mi sobrina que se iba a trabajar como veterinaria a UK, una copia estéril de un W10, y me pareció un reloj fantástico por el que le han preguntado mucho dónde lo ha conseguido.
I love my Tandorio watch! Great value!
