To me there is just no performer like Lindsay Mendez. So many extraordinarily talented actresses (Audra McDonald, Bernadette Peters, Patti Lupone, and Sutton Foster to name a few) have such beautiful voices but you can tell that they have worked their entire lives to get to the level they are at now, learning and training, probably with a hundred voice teachers. But Lindsay does things that simply cannot be taught. When she sings a song, she becomes that song. Everything she is is that song and you cannot teach that kind of passion and commitment. Lindsay is a born performer and there isn't a doubt in my mind that she will go on to do great things.
Luke Evans holy shit nailed it with this comment dude- I could not have said it any better- she understands the deeper level you can't even explain- it's incredible- and yes Audra McDonald is insanely good but Lindsay. Mendez. Nothing like it.

Totally agree... what makes Lindsay so unique and amazing is the fact that she doesn’t just sing a song... she becomes that person. So many actors and actresses are either a great singer or a great actor and Lindsay is one of the few that can do both so flawlessly

I adore her, but as a voice teacher I know that tongue is a sign of serious tension and is a precursor to a potentially severe injury. It worries me. It shouldn't be happening.
@@carr0760 So I’m not a voice teacher and have no degree to back my statement up besides this: if she could could play elphaba 8 times a week for however long and she sounds the same now as she did then, I don’t think that her tongue doing that is a major technique problem for her. She said in behind the scenes Wicked video series circa 2012-2013 that she gets scoped at least once a month so I’m sure if something was wrong her doctors would let her know and she’d get her voice teachers help to fix it😊

This is ridiculous... No one should be this great and consistently this great!! Her vibrato, her Tone and the pureness of her voice drives me insane.. She literally has me waving my hands and all out of my seat.. Damn I'm LOVING this woman right now... PURE CRAZINESS SHE'S SO GREATNESS!!!

This song is beautiful. It describes exactly how I'm feeling in this moment-- the idea of having to let go of something that used to be SO good but now you have no choice but to let go. I cannot stop bawling after I hear this song, and whenever I feel the depression I have been feeling for the past few days I'm going to turn on this song. Ms. Mendez does it BEAUTIFULLY, and I cannot begin to describe how much I needed this song. It is truly an amazing piece of art and I thank you for writing it.
