possible lyrics :
Like the wind, you came here runnin'
Take the consequences of living
There's no space, there's no tomorrow
There's no sent communication
Check it in, check it out or the sun will never shine
Let alone anyway, in the subway of your mind
Like the wind, you're goin' somewhere
Let a smile be your companion
There's no place, where there's no sorrow.
In a young and restless dreamin'
Check it in, check it out or the sun will never shine
Let alone anyway, in the subway of your mind.
Check it in, check it out or the sun will never shine
Let alone anyway, in the subway of your mind
Check it in, check it out in the summer gloom
Check it in, check it out for me and you
Check it in, check it out in the summer gloom
Check it in, check it out for me and you
Check it in, check it out in the summer gloom
Check it in, check it out for me and you
In the second line, I think "leaving" works better then "living"
Of course the most poorly enunciated line is between "shine" and "subway". Semantically I like the idea, that he is like: "Okay, maybe outside the sun shines sometimes but in your head, is as much sunshine as in a subway. - Like: This makes sense. But then again acoustically, this just does not sound like "let alone".
I'm hearing a lot here and think the best compromise between "makes sense" and "sounds right" is "bare a long, dirty way, the subway..." Because you know, the subways in Berlin were dirty in the 80s, too and also the person this song is about has to suffer the long, hard way of leaving the ones they love behind. (At least I thing this song is about fleeing East Germany)
As for the word "gloom", in another video I saw someone hearing that as "blues". I guess it's probably one of the two, although I can not really identify and additional consonant after the "oo" or "ue" sound.

i hear "in the young and restless people"
in the young and restless dreamer
epik.
В конце не верные слова , там не чек ит ин чек ит аут , а уже тер ит ин тер ит аут , или типа того .
Сорри за мой англ ))))
Imo it's "very long dirty way, in the subways of your mind"
In the first line it seems to me he says "young and ...." wind doesn't sounds well
listening to it at several different speeds on several different "remastered" recordings, I hear it as:
like the wind
you came here running [inferred meaning: your life was off to a (very?) good start]
face the consequence of living [inferred meaning: the consequence of living is dying]
there's no space
there's no tomorrow
there's no sent communication / there's no sense for new division [different recordings make the words sound different]
[inferred meaning 1: you died (no tomorrow) and we can't communicate with each other]
[inferred meaning 2: no space/no time = just now, live in the moment; live in harmony ("no sense for new division"); could also refer to E/W Germany or E/W Berlin divisions]
check it in, check it out
the sun goes down in time / the sun will never shine [inferred meaning: we all die eventually / there's no bright spots in life]
have it all anyway
in the subways of your mind [inferred meaning: regardless, we can imagine a different reality]
like the wind
you're gone in summer [inferred meaning: you died in the prime of life, if spring=youth and winter=elderly]
let a smile be your companion [inferred meaning: rest in peace]
there's no place
there's notes of sorrow / that there's no sorrow
hear [feel?] the young and restless grieving [inferred meaning: nowhere/no one is exempt from the sorrow of death]
check it in, check it out
the sun goes down in time
have it all anyway
in the subways of your mind
[instrumental bridge]
check it in, check it out
the sun goes down in time
have it all anyway
in the subways of your mind
OUTRO
check it in, check it out
it's the summer blues [inferred meaning: because of premature death]
tear it in, tear it out
it's the real you [inferred meaning: you were torn away from your friends/family]
Wow, thanks for the explanation @rickwilson7282 !, I never knew the meaning was so much
@@skyfallyt2578 Remember, it's just my interpretation of how I hear the lyrics on the various recordings / mixes / "masters", and trying to come up with words matching the sounds that actually present meaning. I wish I could say that my interpretation is definitive, but until/unless the songwriter is found (or his/her notes about the song are found), it's all still speculation. Cheers!
