Theres a lure along the same lines but a slowjig here in NZ called the Mussel Moocher and also one called the Scallop slider. Both work very well esp around the Mussel farms.
I know people in Vic / Southern NSW who use 20lb leader with these cause the bream hit them like absolute freight trains busting leaders any lighter then that! Great lure, great review mate
Great video John, just what I needed, as i purchased two this morning, so now I will have a better idea how to use them, when they arrive, I will be fishing them land based, any tips to how I should approach them, fish them vertically, or cast and retrieve, hopping it across the bottom, would love to see some land based sessions, great work champion, ,
I like them for throwing at targets, if you know the country you’re tossing em into, definitely worthwhile letting em sink to the bottom. Then probably hop em back. I’m keen to hear what you find out ;)
Great video mate, perfect profile of a fresh water muscle as well. Just wondering if it would be affective in our local impoundments such as Wivenhoe and Summerset dam. Just would like to know how you would fish them for bass ands yellow belly. Cheers mate
Hey mate, great review. Got to get my hands on some. Can I ask if you used the slow sink muss? Also put some heat shrink on the tips of the pliers if those hooks are fine gauge, over time you score/etch them and they’ll break. I learned the hard way with some my lures. Cheers
Yeww another great video Jonny love them🔥🔥 going to have to go for a fish soon mate would love to learn how to target big flatty on the flats with you mate🔥
I'd try just about anything to catch a Big old Breambo. This has to be one of the strangest lures I've seen. Other than it looking like a mussel, how does it represent natural conditions? like if a mussel gets dislodge from a jetty pylon and sinks to the bottom? would it work just as well if you cast it off the beach? or is this just a jetty's and pylon type deal? I'm shocked it works so well. Great Video mate. Good to see you out on the water and having a cracka day.
informative content ...just wanted to ask - in regards to the rod you were using the "Murasame " was it the 772ULS ? "Bream X"- i 'm looking for an ultra light rod - "Miller" Grub freak --- pricey ..made in China ...- both are same orgin - just wanted your thoughts - on something light and can use on SP's - I've have the "Infeet Z" 732LFS ..your thought's ? thank-you in advance - keep up the good work !

That is such a cool idea. Aussies really are creative with lures and plastics etc 👌👍

I can confirm the mussel vibe works great on the freshwater species. Yellow-belly crew are keeping this one quiet!

Because your using a mussel imitation the fish don’t bite the lure they try crush it with their chin, so it’s unlikely you will get one in the mouth
I was wondering about that point eh. Makes sense :)
