How great is that? Clear blue skies and not a single vehicle in sight.
As usual Andy, brilliant camera angles and well edited and mixed. Love your voice over commentary as well! Loved the views and the roads... when will I ever get to ride a bike in Europe?? Still I have NZ's glorious roads and scenery... :) I might have to find a sportbike between my big and small tourers. ;)
Thanks very much mate! I'm sure that NZ has plenty of stunning stuff to rival this! It's on my list in any case! There#s always room for another bike! 😉
Def didn't look like you were hanging about on the pass, awesome footage Andy :-) I've heard parallax error can make it look like you are riding faster too! :D JBBJUS made a nice road! :D
It is the one and major thing that has stopped me touring Switzerland, the speed limits and the harshness of getting caught for any trangression. As we know I am a child on an Aprilia Tuono and I am guranteed to be a twat at one point or another. Awesome vid as always Andy, love and wish I was there as an adult :D
Totally understand that Mike. But if you can get the impulses under control (there must be medication for that! 😜) then the riding in Switzerland is well worth the restraint!
Another amazing video wow. Tks. Question, could you catch the vehicle train u caught in Germany from say Milan? I'd like to ship our bikes from malta and grab a vehicle train like that to dump us right where u got to.
Cheers Dave! I'm not sure tbh. You'll have to check the ÖBB website. I'm sure there are stops in Italy, but I'm not sure what the vehicle train situation is down there.
I got all the info I needed from the website of the Hotel agency that I stayed with. They really do know how to make a trip as straight forward as possible for bikers! it's www.moho.info Happy planning!
The tolerance is the reason why I ride after the SATNAV speed and in Switzerland there are 2 tolerances for Radar, 5km/h when measured by radar and 3km/h when measured by laser. So I ride (and drive) around 5km/h over limit. If i got cought by a laser it's only 2-3 km/h that will be fined and that's in my yearly budget 😉
I do Mark, and I'm absolutely loving them! Really good set of hoops and I'd have them again in a beat. This was the first real touring use of them, and they performed admirably.
I really like them! They look as cool af and the materials seem like they could survive a nuclear Holocaust! Bit more faffy to open and close than the Urban ABS ones, but small price to pay for COOL! 😎
Don't worry about the drone. I imagine it is a lot of extra faffage (especially when you have to recover it from a tree 😳) and what you're doing with the insta is a viewing pleasure 😊 Is that mirror visor a nightmare to clean? Looks good in the vids.
You're not wrong there Mick! I actually felt a bit freed from not needing to lug all the extra gear around and also it allowed me to take a few photos instead of faffing with the bird camera!! The mirror is a bit more of a pain to clean, and you can't just rub the bugs off as you ride, because it's incredibly easy to scratch. It does look good, but I might think twice before getting another one.
Hello AndymanCam ! Very nice content ! I love your channel ! i just bought an Insta360 one x2 and wanted to know how you were recording the voice for your moto video ? Do you use the gopro or the Insta360 and which kind of mic are you using ? would be great to have a video on your full set-up !! maybe it exists but i didnt find it ! :-) In any case have a nice ride ! and maybe we will meet in the Alps mountains :-)
Congrats on the new camera! I recorded the audio into the Gopro Hero 8 using the mic adapter. I’ve since then got a Zoom F2 recorder so that the camera can all stay waterproof. I’ve also got the Insta360 mic adapter, but for some reason it’s stopped working.
Absolutely love that at 6.39 you look at the scenery and acknowledge a bit of "unplanned edge drifting". Makes it all the more real and we've all done it. Any chance you could let me know which mic you're using up to this point and the helmet cam and just before this time point the camera on the left lower side of the bike pls. Great vid by the way........ I was there with you in my mind ;o)
Absolutely mate. We’re all just human and if my cock ups help others to pay attention… The mic is: amzn.to/35VCAEV And the camera was a Gopro Hero 7 Black. Now swapped out for one of these: amzn.to/45cGDZS
I'll say this Andy you must have great stamina to blat up there at the end of a full-on day. I'd be knackered and head gone by then 😀. Spectacular pass! Did you get back in time for dinner?
Cheers Alan. I was a bit beat from the day (it was incredibly hot and even more traffic than the viideo fully showed) but I was also highly motivated! It would have been rude NOT to quickly check it out! Sadly timing meant that early the next day I had to already start heading back to Austria. So it was a bit of a now or never situation! Coffee also helped! 😆
Hi! Great ride! I have only got some 2,5 years and 40 000 km of experience on the motorbike. Also, I've never been to mountains, but this year I'm planing a big ride over de Alps. Would it be a good idea to go trough the Umbrail and Stelvio or are they too technical for a beginner rider? I really want to do them as well but kinda have my doubts... What do you think?
@@Tenfx72 Mind you BvG was speeding at 144km/h in an 80km/h limit which tbh in any country except perhaps in Germany on their autobahns is just a little bit mental.
That was a very expensive ride. But like the boring grown up I am, I'd say they got him bang to rights. That kind of speeding on public roads isn't OK and is the reason the rest of us have to suffer stupid speed limits in the first place. Bad Baron!
Nice one, again, I think I would not pass 70 let alone 80 😂. I see you use the insta 360, just out of curiosity, do you have to edit your footage on an insta editing program first? Or can it all be done on your standard video editing software? I use LumaFusion on an IPad to do mine 🤔, which I am also learning as I go 😂 Ian Back on Two Wheels
Haha! I can understand that! Luckily it would still feel fast! I think my average speed was probably in the high 20's! I stitch the footage together in the insta360 app, to make a 'flat' 5.7k video that I can put on the timeline in Davnci Resolve with my other footage. I then use the KartaVR plugin to 'reframe' the 360 video as I go along. That way it fits perfectly with whats happening. You can do it all in the Insta360 app, but there's just a little bit more guesswork. But it works almost as well. 👍🏻
I must say that I enjoyed the Umbrail much more than the Stelvio. The peak is a bit of an anti-climax. Much more dramatic in cloudy weather. Try the Ghiau for views. You just have to stop!
I would definitely tend to agree. The Stelvio is incredible for that view from the top. But the riding is mostly a bit arduous and repetitive. Except for the sweepy bit through the valley on the south side! But Umbrail was a real pleasure cruise of a pass. Just without any real wow moment at the peak. I almost missed it entirely! 😂 But I'd happily return over and over!
@@AndyManCam Repetitive is the right term. We overdid it and tried to ride too many passes. All started to look and feel the same. Stop at the big ones! Even the views started to look the same. Still nice, though. If a bit too civilized and proper. Norway is as dramatic just in a different, wilder way but every day is different. Keep doing what you are doing. Really enjoy your vids.
I dont think so! Even the 'boring' ones (like the Brenner Pass) have spectacular views! Sorry about the torture, but I'm afraid there is LOTS more to come!
@@ownyourworld ah. I’m waiting for the last moment before my trip, in case they change something. @@AndyManCam know that feeling. I don't do off-road, but I exited Georgia via the old military road, wanted to turn back and do it again
Sometimes just finding yourself off the beaten track is enough to show yourself that you enjoy being lost!
2nd time! 😍 ❤📷🏍💕
You just can’t get enough! 😃
🤓👍🏻👍🏻😎🏍💨💨💨💨💨💨💨👍🏻🇨🇦 what a great area big thanks for another great vid.
My pleasure as always John! Cheers!!
Good gracious! That was a spectacular ride in an incredible place. The footage looks fantastic. Thanks, as always, for the quality content, Andy. 👍🏻
I honestly don't think it could have been any better! Bends, surface, views, emptiness, weather... all perfect! My pleasure entirely mate! Thanks for the eyeballs and support! 😍
How great is that? Clear blue skies and not a single vehicle in sight.
I honestly don't think it could have been any better! Maybe if I'd had another 6 hours of daylight to play with!
Alright, alright, alright!
The pass that was SO alright, they named it three times! 😆
@@AndyManCam LOL
Def didn't look like you were hanging about on the pass, awesome footage Andy :-)
I've heard parallax error can make it look like you are riding faster too! :D
JBBJUS made a nice road! :D
Thanks mate! I definitely think the lenses add 10kmh! Then the lens blur adds another 15 on top of that! ;D
@@AndyManCam :D of course... the lens blur... :D
Sometimes i blur my speedo, just to hide how slow I’m really going! 😆
@@AndyManCam gotta keep the viewers on the edge of their seats!
@@AndyManCam Tks for reply. Appreciate it. Love the fabulous work u did there. It's such a refreshing watch. Tks
My pleasure! Thanks for the comment!
Currently planning a trip for this summer abd what website did you use for information on what was needed to enter each country
Haha! Brilliant! Budgeting for the over-exuberance! I love it! I think generally, as long as you're not taking the piss, it's all good. Within reason!
do you still have the avons on the bike and how are you getting on with them.
I do Mark, and I'm absolutely loving them! Really good set of hoops and I'd have them again in a beat. This was the first real touring use of them, and they performed admirably.
Awesome video as always. Question, saw that you are using a sw motech tank bag, is there a ring available these days fitting the Honda?🧐
Hi Andy what do you think about the sw motech Legend panniers
In any case have a nice ride ! and maybe we will meet in the Alps mountains :-)
@@AndyManCam thanks for the answer very interesting I don't know the F2 recorder but will look at it.
We’re all just human and if my cock ups help others to pay attention…
The mic is: amzn.to/35VCAEV
And the camera was a Gopro Hero 7 Black.
The lads at 44 Teeth discovered just how expensive a speeding ticket in der Schweiz can be.
I saw that. 4k and lucky not to have the bike crushed.
Bad Baron!
Those cobbles must be a nightmare for anyone on two wheels when they're wet.
I bet! The Tremola, or the old Gotthard Pass was a bit adventurous when it was damp. 100% cobbled streets!
😎👍
Nice one, again, I think I would not pass 70 let alone 80 😂.
I see you use the insta 360, just out of curiosity, do you have to edit your footage on an insta editing program first? Or can it all be done on your standard video editing software? I use LumaFusion on an IPad to do mine 🤔, which I am also learning as I go 😂
Ian
Back on Two Wheels
9:21= no
Time to develop a sense of humour perhaps?
And another!
They're coming thick and fast! I want to get another trip in before winter, so I need to free up the hard drive space! 😜
@@AndyManCam keep them coming!
I’m working my hardest! 😊
Norway is top of my list for that exact reason. Was hoping this year, but still being cock-blocked by the C-bomb.
Are there any passes over there that are' not spectacular, beginning to think youre enjoying torturing us Andy.
I dont think so! Even the 'boring' ones (like the Brenner Pass) have spectacular views! Sorry about the torture, but I'm afraid there is LOTS more to come!
More twisties than a plate of spaghetti.
And saucier too! 😉
Think of all the money these hotels and restaurants have lost from us Uk bikers unable to travel over there.
Why not?
@@Zaoresor I’ve not had the poison , sorry I mean jab so I need an essential reason to cross the channel into France.
@@ownyourworld ah. I’m waiting for the last moment before my trip, in case they change something.
