So I stumbled up on this video as I was researching the Bose F1 system before purchasing. Not sure what I'm more impressed with in this video; the amazing pure acoustic and vocal performances or the speakers! Just amazing!
Just two guitars and sometimes bass and percusion but they will be through their respective amps. I will test this in our local store. God Bless you and your family! Greetings from Puerto Rico
Excellent sound indeed! You have a great voice, and the sound system loves you. Perhaps I will ditch my JBLs and tour the FIs. Thanks for a super video.
After hearing at hallway volume that's thing is powerful way more powerful then the model 2 and these speaker don't look as bulky when you look at it from far and yet deliver superior Bose sound
You're a great singer Cory!...Excellent own interpretation and arrangement of Home! .....I work with my group with L1's with subs and whas not aware of the F1 systems... we have an excellent sound with L1's in the clubs we play but thanks for givin this demo which I saw very coincidently.....afer all a good sound system is particularly for the sound it creates....and that is, what I hear here, great!..
Hello Cory...yes I will send some of these to you...as far as I can see you're from Hawai?..I love that song you' re singing (I guess) in your native language...it is awsome!...again..you are a great singer!
A Sound Man & DJ 30 years now, Did sound for rock bands, DJs, weddings, Entertainers for Clubs and crowds over 5,000 people. Unless the Bose F1 is in C position don't even turn them on, C works best with the Bose F1, I had Crate, Roland, Cerwin Vega, Peavey, JBL, Behringer, Eelector-Voice, Yorkville, Makie, QSC, Bose L1 and others. Walk into a store and listen in the C position. I did Not hear any speakers sound that! good for that size. Hear them in person side by side. Sexy and WOW! Subs also WOW! Yes you can get more Big Heavy speakers for the money if you like to pay more helpers and use trailers and ramps. Like I said i used 2 or 4 big powered subs with 2 or 4 - 15" tops on the subs. If you like all that work and break down time. I can add two more F1 subs and get the same sound. No ramp, No trailer or helpers if I don't want it. Ask a DJ who has them.
Hi Cory, firstly your playing and singing is beautiful. I have a somewhat technical question on these speakers, being this video is 7 years old you may not recall, but when demoing these speakers do you remember where you placed the volume controls on the speakers? I have demoed a pair and ran them at noon where the knob has an indent that 'locks' it there. I have turned the volume up louder which increased the volume of the speaker but that can open up problems with regards to limiting/clipping and damaging your equipment. Same question re the subs, were they at noon or turned up further? Thank you so much if you happen to read and reply.
Thanks so much for the compliment! I remember that we ran the speakers and subs at “unity”, 12 noon. There seemed to be some headroom on the mixer. Since this demo I played on the F1’s once at an outdoor gig. Maybe it was because they only had one for me to use, but it did not fair well. Ran out of headroom really quick. The system is best with two tops and two subs. Hope that helps.
@@CoryOliveros thanks so much for your reply! I've been offered an excellent deal on a used F1 812 and the matching sub. The idea would be for my acoustic gigs I'd use one F1 812 and the matching sub. I'd also planned to buy another one of each for my band gigs for extra sound etc. Most of my gigs are acoustic vocals and guitar gigs and the odd trio rock cover band gig. Sounds like these speakers are more than capable in the right use case. I'll demo the speakers further and hopefully not drive myself insane over thinking it! Thanks for your reply and I've subscribed!
I had both L1 and mk2 systems for some time but found the sound too processed after a while , I changed to FBT VERTUS units and wow what a difference the two x8 600w subs and the two 600w columns fit into a car boot and kick like crazy , the sound quality at a distance is fantastic and half the weight of thr F1 so maybe no sale .
I have seen lots of reviews about this speakers bad and good ones but after watching and listening to this l would say this speakers are dope ..! I may get them..!
I had hunch I told my wife Jayne n daughter KAWE that you were awsum as always 🤙keep up the good work ma man I’m gonna pick me a Bose F1-812 system soon too it’s amazing it might make me sound like you 1 day lol jk have a good day my Braddah Aloha
Hi Cory: Very Cool and pleasant to hear voice brother!! One question: Have you tried 6 mics through a mixer with just one F1? I'm thinking to use this for only singing voices. Appreciate if you share your point of view. Frankie
Hello Cory, thank you for a great demo - it's really helpful for those of us considering making the change over to Bose for the first time. The sound is indeed very tempting. Could I ask if you have used the F1s with the T1 Tonematch or did you use another mixer option? I am a solo performer using both acoustic guitar and Jazz backing tracks for mostly ambient music - in your opinion would an solo F1 with T1 audio engine create a sound akin to the L1 model ii? Many thanks, Eve
Hi Eve. I haven't tried the configuration of the Tone Match with the F1. But I have used the ToneMatch in the past and I love it! So I can only imagine what it would sound like if it were paired with the F1 speakers. The best way to find out would be to bring your backing tracks and guitar to the store and ask if they can set up the F1 w/ToneMatch. I ran an Allen & Heath Mixer to the F1's and was very pleased with the sound of my guitar and vocal. Very smooth and even.
Excellent coverage, I mean any company can obtain that with an array of speakers really large or small except JBL their just too muddy but these speakers lack warmth and presence they need a little bit more bottom. Without bottom they can sound a little bit sterile. I still rather go with some EV's which allows me full control and no restrictions.
+RATEDR60 How do they need more bottom end? Have you heard them in person? They go down to 40Hz (-3db) I think they have a nice warmth and vocal presence. I'm more worried about how loud they can get.
Hi Cory, thanks for sharing this.. By the way i would like to ask if you i need powered mixer added to my tone match for mic inputs going to L1 model 2. or just a mixer (not powered) will do. thanks. :)
Sorry I never replied. If you plugged your mics into a non-powered mixer, then went from the main outputs of that mixer into your ToneMatch inputs, it should work. No need for a powered mixer. Hope that helps.
They're about 44lbs. The handles are placed well, so it distributes the weight evenly. The subs are not bad either (55lbs). I just wish they came with covers.
Hi Cory! Amazing demo as well as mermerising singing. I usually don't comment on any videos, but your singing compelled me to do so. Simply wowww. One more thing i would like to know is, what are the other speakers on the corners apart from Bose F1, the ones mounted on the pole, are they, RCF EVOX series?
+vipyfz In my opinion, I think that you can replace your L1 systems with this F1 system. I feel like the F1 system has a lot more presence and throw than the L1 system.
Wow... Great DEMO. I have the L1 Compact and has worked fine. Do you think this F1 alone (without sub) is a big improvement? I´m very curious... Maybe time to sell my beloved L1...
Thank you very much!! I will come to the NAMM. Hope to put my hands on one and see how heavier it feels. BTW, you sound great!! Post some more of you singing!
Lalo Rojas Hello .. lalo . I have the same question . I own l1 compact system. I am overwhelmed to buy f1 812 one single top for my gigs . Do you think it is really worth . Carrying the sound like l1 and how about the low end frq . Compare to l1 ?
Ratedr60 is talking without even having experience with the Bose F1 system, it's one of those who talks because he hates Bose because he has no balls to buy it or because he simply thinks that such a small system can not play loud enough. Ratedr60, do yourself and the rest of the people a favor, do not talk about what you do not know. The price ratio size and sound power of this system is simply spectacular. As for saying that the system does not like having the public ahead is a mistake on your part, it all depends on the way you put PA. If the problem is the propagation of the subwoofer is simple to solve, put the two subs in the middle and they add up and so they play louder, if it is still not enough it joins up one or two subwoofers and the problem is solved. As for the 812, they put themselves on the tripods to project the sound over the heads of the audience. Ratedr60, do not speak without knowledge.
Thank you for your kind comment. In this video there are (2) 12" speakers. And also (2) subwoofers - 2x10. They weren't designed to be placed behind the performer like the L1. But I've seen another video of a Dj standing right in front of the speaker and talking through a mic at a loud volume. No feedback.
With all due respect, I have been using my L1 Model II systems, (two), in any number of situations described and had NO trouble satisfying either the band or the audience. I have used my systems with my live bands, I have had rappers Choose my system over a 'conventional' P.A. system in an outdoor venue, (set up right alongside my setup), and I have been using this setup for the last six years. Bands I have been using it with vary between three to seven members, with my bass guitar, a rhythm guitar, a keyboard, and vocals all going through the system. Currently I am using it in a large church setting with five instruments and four vocalists going through the systems. I have no complaints, and haven't heard any either. Still I Am waiting anxiously for the delivery of my new F1 812 to augment my systems.
the fbt versus cla 208/cla 604 system is meant to sound nicer and louder than this bose system and is around £1800-2000 cheaper apparently in other vids. ( nice singing and top tune!) aloha. from uk.
One last thing. I own bose l1 system. Thinking of buying a f1 812 one single top for my gigs how is the sound . Low frequency? Is it carring the sound through out the room like l1 ?
Hi Jimmy, the volume was at zero (according to the Bose Rep) which was about halfway. The JBLs were also at zero. I think I have another video where we maxed the volume on the speakers. I'll post that one soon.
Not to sure how they do outdoors. My guess is that they'd be ok, but not as effective as a conventional 2way speaker with a horn that has a directional projection of the sound. The high frequency drivers on the F1's operate at their best when there is good reflection (bouncing of walls or glass). However, Bose has a way of surprising us all. So the only way to find out would be testing it outdoors.
Corey, the complete Vertus system including all covers and poles, leads cost me £2600 , for a 2.2k rig which fits in the trunk of a small car, it's the best sounding system £4£ I've ever heard .
+Cory Oliveros I have a question sir I have the same system Bose F1 but I don't know how to connect to the mixer and get a better sound. Could you help me???
Cory, Good sound, good voices, congratulations. I want to buy a pair of bose f1 812 without subwofer, plays stronger than a pair of L1 Model II? Thank you and success.
Dan Lewis Unfortunately, we were not able to test the speakers at an actual event. If I ever hear these F1 812’s at a venue during an event, I’ll be sure to capture some video and post.
Kind of like watching a Samsung TV commercial on your LG and saying look how great the color is.. I use JBL 715's I also own the 18" matching subs. Bose make great sound to but this is not the forum to judge sound..
I haven't tried more than one mic on this system. But I'm guessing that it should be fine, especially for a smaller audience from 50-100. I would also recommend a subwoofer if you have a bass or baritone singing in the ensemble.
Yeap!! My thoughts are between the 802 and the subwoofer or two amplified Mackies SRM 650 with the stands and cables, etc.. I understand the advantage is on the Bose lightweight and portability but I dont want to sacrifice quality of sound due to Im planning to buy only one F1 (Speaker and Sub). Thanks for your time and Suggestions are welcome!!
Bose sound excellent and are crystal clear but they seem to hate any sort crowd interaction. Jazz. Spoken word and place where the audience is simply laid back their perfect. These will not work for locus rock, gospel. Rappers or a DJ playing house or hip-hop. The price you can get a lot more for your buck but, put them next to some EV's. If you are only in the business where there is an applause at the end of your performance you're fine but that's a very small business plan. They sound excellent once again just not much versatility in music genre.

I did not see for myself if the subs were off. So you may be right. I just took the Rep's word for it. However, there is a single 12" woofer in the Bose Cab. So, I would doubt that it could push that kind of bottom.
The reason why you can get a lot of low end with these without the subs is due to the fact that there is a 12" speaker behind that mid/high array waveguide. Also, line array technology allows for an array of several drivers to act as a single line source (basically one giant speaker), so you can array several small drivers in a line to form a large airmass for mids and highs. Of course, the bigger the box, the better this 'array' will be able to reproduce the lower midrange -- and since the box isn't large enough, the 12" speaker was used to do the job of the lower mids. The F1 is a different beast than the other Bose stuff -- it was created with input from several high profile national sound engineers, so it's solid. Also, you really want the entire rig with the subs because you can use the crossovers to let the subs handle the bottom end and flip the switch on the top boxes to allow the 12" speaker and other drivers to handle the mids and highs instead of the lows. Just by doing this little trick, you'll gain 10dB easy -- and a more efficient rig ;) Two F1 rigs 'set up properly' will be more than enough for a loud rock band in a 500 to 600 person venue running in the green. These are beasts -- when properly configured and broken in -- that's the key. I would really be interested if Turbosound comes up with something to compete with this -- and not just a column.
So I stumbled up on this video as I was researching the Bose F1 system before purchasing. Not sure what I'm more impressed with in this video; the amazing pure acoustic and vocal performances or the speakers! Just amazing!
Thanks so much Todd. Been long overdue to review something else. Hahaha. I hoping that QSC will come out with a tower type PA
Just two guitars and sometimes bass and percusion but they will be through their respective amps.
I will test this in our local store.
God Bless you and your family!
Greetings from Puerto Rico
Excellent demo.. fantastic performance too! Very talented musician. Well done!
Thank you!
The piano accompaniment on I Cant Make You Love Me is Bruce Hornsby, in his inimitable style. The sound of grace on the radio.
Beside this demo a great performance.... & yes, I gonna get my a set of these...
That's the Ko'olau Ballroom in Kailua, Hawaii. Sounds Awesome Jen!!!
Really great rendition of a lovely song! You rock, buddy.

Thank you Mark
Great sound system and a great singer as well.

Fantastic singer!
Was this just the F1 speakers? I see two other speakers in the back. Not sure if those were being used or not.
This particular video was the Bose F1 system only.
Awesome man, it all sounded really great
I'm a mobile DJ thinking about picking up some of these. Are they heavy?
They're about 44lbs. The handles are placed well, so it distributes the weight evenly. The subs are not bad either (55lbs). I just wish they came with covers.

They look small because they're further away
Ok! They look so small as if RCF evox series. Keep uploading your songs. Great singing.
Bose, the best!
Did you connect the guitar directly to mixer?
John Galanida yes. The guitar is a Composite Acoustics with an LR Baggs Element preamp.

good sound !! good singing !!!
Thank you!
name songs?

Hi Lalo! If you like the sound from the L1 compact, you'll definitely like the F1. It's heavier though. I'm not sure if that matters to you.
Thank you very much!! I will come to the NAMM. Hope to put my hands on one and see how heavier it feels. BTW, you sound great!! Post some more of you singing!

Question can you play it in front of 1000 people with the Bose f1
The speakers could probably handle a room of 1000 playing tracks. As for live music and speaking, I'm assuming that it will be a struggle.
What was the guitar played here?
I'm playing a Composite Acoustics GXi
Is it just bose array machines? Congrats brother! It sounds really good
Amazing 🤩
Thanks so much

+Cory Oliveros thanks for prompt reply. Can F1 be combined with L1 series speakers without any issues ?
+uskv they can be combined. The f1 has an XLR line out. That can go into the L1 using a 1/4" adapter. How will you be using the two as a combination?
+Cory Oliveros F as main that goes in front and L that goes behind and serve as monitor + add to overall coverage.
+uskv what kind of mixer will you be using? Also, depending on how loud you run the L1 as monitors, you may run into some phasing issues.
just wondering how this system would fare for a hard rock band. Any thoughts?

Still I Am waiting anxiously for the delivery of my new F1 812 to augment my systems.
the fbt versus cla 208/cla 604 system is meant to sound nicer and louder than this bose system and is around £1800-2000 cheaper apparently in other vids. ( nice singing and top tune!) aloha. from uk.
Thanks Philip! And thanks for the info on FBT
the are not
Hello . What a lovely performance. I own l1 compact. Thinking of buying a f1 812 tops (one) btw what is your guitar . ? Takmine ??
Chamni Naotunna hi! My guitar is a Composite Acoustic GX7. Thanks for your kind words.
One last thing. I own bose l1 system. Thinking of buying a f1 812 one single top for my gigs how is the sound . Low frequency? Is it carring the sound through out the room like l1 ?
Chamni Naotunna better than the L1 Compact in my opinion
Chamni Naotunna the low end is great. I thought the subs were on in the beginning of the demo. But they weren’t. Just the tops.
I'm such a big Bose fan love Bose question was the volume all the way up or half? And can you play it in front of 1000 people
Hi Jimmy, the volume was at zero (according to the Bose Rep) which was about halfway. The JBLs were also at zero. I think I have another video where we maxed the volume on the speakers. I'll post that one soon.
Outdoor use? How many people this set can cover outdoor?
Not to sure how they do outdoors. My guess is that they'd be ok, but not as effective as a conventional 2way speaker with a horn that has a directional projection of the sound. The high frequency drivers on the F1's operate at their best when there is good reflection (bouncing of walls or glass). However, Bose has a way of surprising us all. So the only way to find out would be testing it outdoors.
thank you
+T BAT thanks for watching
I had both soon
Could use only one tower?
jt, it depends on the size of the room and how you will be using it for. If just for music playback for a medium size room, it would be ok.
for how many people can i use this system?
I think it can handle a room of about 300-500 people.
Corey, the complete Vertus system including all covers and poles, leads cost me £2600 , for a 2.2k rig which fits in the trunk of a small car, it's the best sounding system £4£ I've ever heard .
Hi!! Where was this?? I Have a big question!!
This was at Ko'olau Ballrooms in Kaneohe, Hawaii.
+Cory Oliveros I have a question sir I have the same system Bose F1 but I don't know how to connect to the mixer and get a better sound. Could you help me???
+Rafael Hernandez What kind of mixer do you have?
how are these when it comes to playing jazz? :)
My guess is that it'll probably be really good. Also depends on your venue. Indoors probably best
Thanks for answer! Also, I just received mine, and they make a little fuzz sound when turning them on. Is this normal?
Thanks in advance!
wow - awesome voice & playing!! did you write these songs yoirself? I really do like this music
btw: Bose Sound is also great :-)
Steffen Gottwald thanks man. No, these are covers of Hawaii music
Cory, Good sound, good voices, congratulations. I want to buy a pair of bose f1 812 without subwofer, plays stronger than a pair of L1 Model II? Thank you and success.
Thanks Rafael. I like the the sound from the F1 better than the L1. Even without subs the F1 speakers have enough bass.
Cory thanks for responding, but F1 have more power than a L1. The song "Home" is fantastic. Good job!
Great sound,,i think F1 is better than L1
I agree with you.
At last i got my Bose F1,,,,amazing sound,,,,,
+Roland congratulations!
Was hoping you'd let us hear what it sounds like when populated. Oh well.
Dan Lewis Unfortunately, we were not able to test the speakers at an actual event. If I ever hear these F1 812’s at a venue during an event, I’ll be sure to capture some video and post.
What is the first song
"Ordinary People" (George Benson version)
+Cory Oliveros thanks bro. Your set up sound really good
+Tj Uelese thanks tj. I wish I owned a pair. This was only a demo.
+Cory Oliveros I've heard both in person. What is your personal take on it. What would you get?
+Tj Uelese if I had the money to buy them, I would. But if I were on a budget, I think that the QSC K12's work just as well.
Listening a Bose demo on a JBL headset...
Kind of like watching a Samsung TV commercial on your LG and saying look how great the color is.. I use JBL 715's I also own the 18" matching subs.
Bose make great sound to but this is not the forum to judge sound..
+Kevin Graham The 715's are one of my favorites too. Do you have to powered series or passive?
+Cory Oliveros
How does the F1 compare to the PRX715's volume wise?
That's what i call a demo
Rhanks
Howzit Cory that was you singing
JJ’s SnB yes, that’s me. Mahalo
Nice SOund!!!!!!!!!
aloha , still in 2020 Bose F1 's better system in the world . From Italy
better sound
Where's that place?
Ko'olau Ballrooms Oahu, Hawaii
Thanks :)
So far from Itlay :(
+F Google I'd like to visit Italy one day with my wife.
nice speakers
Buy Other Sound Equipment. Bose.
But actually, the F1 system is probably the best product from Bose. Clear and loud.
In term of audience. Mostly 50 to 110 persons.
on Churches and Spiritual Retreat Centers.
I haven't tried more than one mic on this system. But I'm guessing that it should be fine, especially for a smaller audience from 50-100. I would also recommend a subwoofer if you have a bass or baritone singing in the ensemble.
Yeap!! My thoughts are between the 802 and the subwoofer
or two amplified Mackies SRM 650 with the stands and cables, etc..
I understand the advantage is on the Bose lightweight and portability but I dont want to sacrifice quality of sound due to Im planning to buy only one F1 (Speaker and Sub).
Thanks for your time and Suggestions are welcome!!
+Frank Rodriguez I always prefer to have left and right speakers if space will allow.
+Cory Oliveros 10" Speakers should work great! Like QSC K10. Your choice of mics will be important too. I recommend Shure Beta 87a
Do you sing to recorded tracks or is this an acapella group?
really no sub omg i need this speaker!
like for the singer
Bose sound excellent and are crystal clear but they seem to hate any sort crowd interaction. Jazz. Spoken word and place where the audience is simply laid back their perfect. These will not work for locus rock, gospel. Rappers or a DJ playing house or hip-hop. The price you can get a lot more for your buck but, put them next to some EV's. If you are only in the business where there is an applause at the end of your performance you're fine but that's a very small business plan. They sound excellent once again just not much versatility in music genre.
I agree
RATEDR60 you're saying they wouldn't work with a live band?
What warrants your opinion? Please explain further how this will not work with a band or similar situations
@@CoryOliveros With all due respect, I have been using my L1 Model II systems, (two), in any number of situations described and had NO trouble satisfying either the band or the audience. Again, I must compliment your vocals. Cheers!!
bad ass
Bullshit the subs are on, no way then little tiny pathetic speakers can give bass like that, you just turned them down then up a bit.
I did not see for myself if the subs were off. So you may be right. I just took the Rep's word for it. However, there is a single 12" woofer in the Bose Cab. So, I would doubt that it could push that kind of bottom.
Sorry, I meant to type "I wouldn't doubt".
