Another detail from this movie I love is when Marta is interrogated and sits in the centre of the knives sculpture, foreshadowing that she was the one killing Harlan. But at the end we learn knives on the sculpture were fake, the same way Marta was innocent

she literally did not sit in the centre 😭 she only sat in the centre at the end of the movie, after blanc did
The knives pointing to the center foreshadow who knows the truth. It starts with the all family outside the circle because they don't know the truth. Blanc is the only who sits in the middle cause he figured it out Marta sits just off center.
When you watch the movie it gives the mystery away for the people who have not seen it like the villains or suspects like Harlan, Fran, Marta, Benoit Blanc and Ransom mentioned throughout the movie I thought it was Marta I know she is a good person is mentioned Benoit says she makes a lousy murderer got to be Harlan or Marta or Fran and Hugh as Ransom innocent but I thought though

“So if someone switched the meds on purpose I’d be dead in ten minutes?” His brain was already turning, those last “Marta? Do you have the antidote?” Feel like it’s not him asking if he will live, it’s asking if someone has killed him, which he knows someone in his family would do it.
I like to believe in those last moments he knew it was Ransom which is why he has that look of disappointment
He figured out the twist and presents it straight to the audience what happened. Marta is panicking, he’s counter scheming.
He had the disappointed (more like sad) look because the time to quit life has arrived, he realised that by any turn of events he would be dead and to protect marta he would have to do it in a violent manner
It seems to be a minor point but movies often gloss over the ultimate sadness of characters who realise they're about to die, instead their interactions with others are mostly focused on
As Agatha Christie said (paraphrasing, don't remember which book) it's the young who throw away their lives, old people know to value theirs
Possibly. The only thing about that scene is that it was about 10 minutes long and she did not even see any signs of him starting to overdose

@@seanmurphy7350- Yep. The whole story was about the arrogance of a group who thought they were better than everyone. Her experience prevented her from giving him the wrong medicine. But, he knew better.
"That's much less.." Always gets me. He had such a strangely charming humor about his own death.
This movie has it all. Multilayered cinematography, enthralling plot twists and outstanding campy acting perfectly cast. 10/10
It’s crazy that Harlan knew he was gone to be murdered and he knew they would blame Marta a week before it happened
God, Ana de Armas did such a good job as Marta

Anyone notice that every time a Thrombey says where Marta is from, they mention a different South American country? Lol
Yeah, had me in stitches. Ecuador, Paraguay, Uruguay and then Brazil.
yeah i think that was meant to show that despite how they all say marta is family and that they care about her, they actually couldn't care less and don't even bother to know simple things about her like where she's from

At 2:40, when she's looking at the labels. She's holding one vial upside down. And the sticker is just slightly peeling.
Hugh put the sticker the wrong way up when she swapped the labels! Amazing foreshadowing.
Hugh never touched the labels. He used a syringe to swap them from their vials.
Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the label is not upside down, one of the bottles is.

It’s crazy that he already knew that someone had switched the drugs because there was no way Marta would have messed up- and she didn’t! And Harlan STILL slit his own throat to protect his best friend 😭
This move rules on so many levels.
I like how meta the story is when Harlan says he’s going to write this down as a clever method of murder, coupled with the fact that Ransom actually had the talent to carry on his fathers legacy but like the rest of the family he’d rather ride coattails.
They really should've realised that 5 minutes had passed before Harlen killed himself and he was showing no symptoms whatsoever which proves he was totally fine.
Yeah the guy just slit his own throat without a second thought lol. A little flaw but I'll let it go.

When he cuts off the phone, look at his forehead, in the light, beads of sweat.
Probably from the stress yes but he doesn't know that. He just thinks, guess this is it. Have to act now while I still have the strength.
Dude was too dramatic for his own good, a lot of the plot of the movie is based around the fact that while Harlan is a nice guy he kinda really screwed up with his parenting style and created a family full of greedy people who were willing to step over each other to get ahead. His own death was the final game he played with them.

@@vladtheimpaler9577 it is technically a sequel because it is afterwards but it isn't related to each other. If they didn't show the pandemic, then there would be no indication of relative time

Honestly @2:14 first time I saw this, I seriously thought that Harlan was the one who swapped the viles, took the one needed to save him, and hired Blanc. That he planned it all from the beginning.

The only problem I had with this movie is that, after being administered morphine regularly for a while, Harlan didn’t find it odd that he wasn’t feeling the effects of it even a minute after injection. Morphine hits you hard, FAST.
I said the same thing. She said he had about 10 minutes. But he wasn’t feeling anything from the injection time to the time he killed himself.
Slitting your own throat is not a good way out. Don't try this at home. There are more wfiicient ways to meet the Maker.
It can’t be the worst way. Bleeding out from a sharp slash through the jugular seems far from the worst way to go. It’s not like he stabbed himself in the gut.

Can not believe one of my favourite movies was directed by rian johnson. The guy who played a part in ruining one of my favourite series.
I love hearing the "rich" trying to talk people out of money. Especially talking them out of being rich themselves. There is no nobility in being poor, and it is the oldest trick of the rich to make you think that being rich is something you should hate... How else will they keep you their slave
