Given what the Buster Gundam does at 1000 yen, this is irritating. I love this kit because I love the Duel, and in its regular mode, it does the job, but the Buster has movable fucking missile pod doors, more color separation, and is 200 yen cheaper. You just know Dearka would love to give Yzak shit about how he got the more faithful kit.
Ten years... Hope you're crossing your fingers hard enough when the Duel and Buster get the HGCE treatment someday. Either in their base form or their nuclear-powered mod jobs. Duel Blitz is gonna be one heck of an easy mod job, I swear.
+Paragon19 The chobham armor only adds extra armor, while the Full Armor Gundam (just like the Duel and the Assault Shroud) gets extra armor *and* weaponry + added thrusters in an attempt to offset the extra weight.
I honestly have come to like the Duel better without its armor. This is a really damn good kit, and a good mobile suit. I like the underbarrel grenade launcher, which Gundams very rarely have.
Actually, I remember one that does. I don't recall it using it, but the Ez8 and Ground Gundam's beam rifle that they sometimes use has an under-barrel rocket launcher, but I don't remember it ever firing it. I guess the Super Napalm is sort of like one, too, but we all know the Gundam used that once, to destroy Gundam parts to keep them from being stolen, and not in actual combat.
They really need to remake this model. Its looks so shameful for a revive especially since they made the HGCE Aile Strike Revive's shield color accurate.
Hey just saw your review at work, and today I get my duel gundam, wish I had watched it sooner, no all hope is lost, one could always cut the front skirt armor off and pain it
The MG actually sort of has the opposite problem of the HG. On the HG, you can't get the back skirt to stay on. On the MG, the back skirt stays on alright, but the front skirt won't stay on.
It's on my top 5 favorite Gundam(in the animes), So i bought it, still deciding on color schemes(over a year now lol), but I have to ask, do you Believe the Build Fighter Boosters and Weapons that are coming out will work? cause I was checking the back,(planning to put Strike pack) would requiere to make holes on the Booster pack or cut the tiny pegs on the back of Dual, but just wanting your opinion if the packs would work well without damaging it... BTW, love the part where you just go crazy with the AS "descriptions" lol.
The Blu Duel has the assault shroud built in already as part of the design, with much better articulation due to this. I still like the Duel, armorless, more but the Blu Duel is a good kit. Better than the mobile suit is, anyway... *BuCUE's favorite chewtoy*
I get the feeling that if they revive this kit, they would give us a different separate Hip part for the front skirt armor articulation, but I doubt that would ever happen. 😅
I still kind of want this kit. I can try scratch building the one shoulder and cutting the skirt armor and scratch build a ball joint or something, extra bulk but articulation plus?
Kakarot197 can you put the striker packs on the duel? Like the launcher striker pack. Mainly the combination weapon on the shoulder is what im interested in

still, i painted mine, took off all the assault shroud armour and left it as it is. Duel is awesome

This is one of those cases were its just better to get old 1/100 NG version over 1/144 HG version.

The only good thing about the assault shroud is that it is the correct color.

If you mount the AssaultShroud, don't even try to remove it...
