As a Tigers fan ima hold y’all’s hand when I say this, we’re far closer to the White Sox than to the Twins. Throw out the record this is one of the worst teams in the sport. The wildcard train died in May

this is what I expected my Red Sox to be ngl it's kinda insane how seemingly inverse these two teams have been.

@@moyst.jour situation almost mirrors the Mariners this year. Look at our lineups and they’re equally terrible, except we have multiple players hitting well under .200 (Akil Badoo is around .120) but our records are flipped, that’s baseball 🤷🏾‍♂️

The Mariners aren't small market. They were top 10 in team revenue last year. Their ownership just refuses to reinvest all that money into the team.

Twins really are gonna need Royce back in August so we can continue this push

As a Twins fan, I wonder what Lewis workout routine is? Is he hydrated and stretching out. How can one guy get hurt over and over and the next doesn't get hurt at all

Jack “run through the tape” I love it. I wish the cardinals would have that approach instead of bare minimum to compete for a wildcard

A few things from a Brewers fan perspective.
1 When the Brewers traded Hader, they came out and said our goal is to get as many bites at the apple as possible talking about team philosophy. Basically, get in and see what happens.
    2. It is frustrating at times that we won't just go for it and make a big move, but at this point, I just dont expect it anymore, so I dont get disappointed.
    3. Burnes wasn't gonna pitch for the Brewers in 2024 he was never in our plans, and i think we got a good haul. Ortiz, Hall, and a draft pick all are helpful for 2024, yes, but moreso 2025/2026 when I think the brewers have the best shot. The Brewers' entire offense minus Hoskins (who has underperformed) and Willy (who has a replacement in ortiz) is locked up for 3+ years. Contreras, Black, Turang, Ortiz, Wilken, Yelich, Mitchell, Chourio, Frelick, Quero, Boeve, Dunn, Clarke, Perkins, and Wiemer (yikes) have team control for 3+ years. Pitching wise, Peralta is here through 26, and then its a lot of projecting with guys like Hall, Gasser, Ashby, Misorowski, Rodriguez, Myers, Henderson, Wichrowski, Blalock, and Crow. And the BP is just always good.
    4. The Brewers really dont care a whole lot about SP. There is a reason they prioritize defense, and its because they dont look at pitching and defense as separate entities. They call the two together a run prevention unit, and it works largely in the regular season at least.

I like Burnes, and I wish that a choice between "the Crew" or "The Corbin Show" hadn't been inevitable... but after seeing how Ortiz plays? I'd take just one year of Ortiz for Burnes, and still call it a slight win.
(But we'll have to agree to disagree about Willy, who I think has become the heart of the Crew.)

I agree Peter I was just in NYC and it was 85 and 90% humidity and it was miserable but in Sandiego it’s 87 and I’m surrounded by the beach and my pool and it’s beautiful and I’m just grilling some burgers. Happy 4th!

Think of it this way … DK & Civale have auditions til the deadline … if they do well, they probably won’t get anybody else … but if they fall on their face, they will have another opportunity to get another SP at the deadline

Wow! You are REALLY gonna be surprised by the Red Sox. I was in on your picks at first, but wow, your take on the Sox was a blow to your credibility. At least in my opinion. They MANUFACTURE offense and it's fun to watch. They're gonna manufacture a deep run this year. I'm all in. Sorry.

I dunno Jack, you have to adjust your mindset to the reality. Brewers are never going to be a big-spending team, they don't have the resources. They could spend all they want and try to load up and their team is never going to match up with the Phillies or Dodgers. So why engage in an arms race that they can't win simply because it's an unfair system? Also why engage in an arms race when that doesn't even work all the time? I'm not a Brewers fan but I think they're doing it right, you get there and see what happens in short series, you can make a run.

Will smith and Chris Stratton both won the World Series last year on the royals. Both pitchers got off to terrible start at the beginning of the year but they have been two of the best relievers in the AL over the past 2 months. Royals are exciting and they are gonna be aggressive at the deadline.

The royals aren’t there yet but the 2014 and 2015 royals didn’t have huge superstars at the time. Perez wasn’t a huge name yet. The only big names in that lineup were Hosmer, Cain, and Alex Gordon. Moustakas was up and down from the minors, Escobar was alright, and mother f-ing Billy butler, they made it to game 7 of the World Series on the backs of a bullpen and vibes. The vibes are high in Kansas City. They believe they can. And us fans know they can. I live in KC and the whole city is behind them. We are filling up seats at Kaufman. The attendance numbers are the highest since the year after the royals won the 2015 World Series. And they have the 2nd best Home record in baseball. Behind Philly. KC and Philly keep showing why we are the best fans in sports.

Another great episode. But give me some of whatever Peter is smoking. Making all these injury excuses for the Rays, but I'm sorry, please go back and look at all of the injuries the Red Sox have had. They've just stayed in contention DESPITE the injuries, unlike the Rays.
