It hasn't gotten used much because its bulky and doesn't work well (there are plenty of youtube videos that demonstrate performance of the TV). If you actually want one direction flow, just buy a check valve.
Yeah but a Check Valve only lets flow go one way. This fluid is slowed down going in the resistant direction. I can see in certain fuel systems where you need a slow but continued flow.

Not to mention, it must be long; shortening it just makes it even less effective than it already is. Each loop effectively amplifies resistance. Which is why it is so long in the first place.

it's worth testing, there are pressure drops through the valve which _might_ extract dissolved gasses.
