No it's because it's big. A Check Valve takes up the space of one loop.

@@SuwinTzi Not to mention, a check valve actually works.. The Tesla Valve isn’t used very often because it simply sucks at stopping flow. Not to mention, it must be long; shortening it just makes it even less effective than it already is. Each loop effectively amplifies resistance. Which is why it is so long in the first place.

it's worth testing, there are pressure drops through the valve which _might_ extract dissolved gasses.

It hasn't gotten used much because its bulky and doesn't work well (there are plenty of youtube videos that demonstrate performance of the TV). If you actually want one direction flow, just buy a check valve.
exactly, just a single ball bearing that allows you to make the flow unidirectional, no complex shapes needed.
Yeah but a Check Valve only lets flow go one way. This fluid is slowed down going in the resistant direction. I can see in certain fuel systems where you need a slow but continued flow.
@@starcityrc3298but that's not the point of it. It's not made to slow the flow. It's supposed to stop backflow. It doesn't.
