First time viewer n subscriber thru cooking with Pam. I still save my (seasoned) chicken grease n my kids still laugh. I'm in my late 70's so I know what time it is. Enjoyed ur video. Keep it coming. Went to ur store, you don't have an old school soul food Apron??? Keep on cooking Old School !!!
Homemade biscuits send me straight back to my childhood. My grandma made 3 DOZEN every morning. My grandpa had them for breakfast. We stayed with grandma after school till mom got off work. Grandma had a sideboard (remember those?) in the kitchen and there'd be a big bowl of the leftover biscuits and a quart jar of my grandpa's homemade molasses. Thumb goes into side of biscuit, molasses goes in the hole. Our version of an after-school snack. A couple of those and we were good to play until supper, when the remaining biscuits would make their appearance. Good days.
Only one of many. I was so very blessed to live most of my childhood with my maternal grandparents living on the same property. They were also my ride to school and my daycare. The things they taught me I live by today and my memories of them are more precious than gold. My grandpa was the wisest man I have met in my life. He was a self-taught Renaissance man. He could mine and prepare his own stones and use them to make the most beautiful jewelry, he could weld a steam locomotive (his last "job") and so much more, he found hurt animals and brought them to be nursed in his garage. He was a thrice decorated veteran of WWI. My grandma was a typical Southern country woman who had all the now almost forgotten skills. Solid as a mountain whose every act was for her family. When I tell people how they were and what I learned from them I am rarely even believed. We are trying to pass their lessons and skills to our kids and grands. With luck some will stick.
GOOD MORNING.THE BUTTERMILK BISCUITS LOOKS DELICIOUS. THE WHITELILLY FLOUR IS GOOD FOR BAKING. I HAVE TRIED IT SEVERAL TIMES. THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR BISCUIT RECIPE. MAY GOD BLESS YOUR FAMILY ALWAYS 🙂💖🙏🙏🙏
Good Morning ☀️ Chef Jeffrey. Happy triumphant blessed Tuesday to you and everyone who reads this. We love to use White Lily products for baking. The biscuits are light and fluffy, just what you want. Enjoy your day!! 🙏🏽♥️
Yes the old time chicken greese on top!! I remember the old crisco greese can sitting next to the stove. Old time memories from down south West Virginia. We had homemade biscuits for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I loved good ol' apple butter on mine. White Lilly flour I will try. I know Michigan carries it. I usually just use Gold metal all-purpose flour. Use buttermilk in makin them. I am up for trying different brands and recipes. Continue to keep stirring up your gifts for the Lord! 🎁🎁#justshowsomekindness2023
I'm sure White Lily flour is great & you definitely bringing the biscuit making magic with it! Looking forward to cooler weather that will be coming eventually, & your chicken & dumplings will be calling my name too! #justshowsomekindness
What you say!!!! Yes Curly!! Same here! Them chicken and dumplings are calling my name also! Probably calling the whole Old School Familys names!!!! LoL. Especially BCK!! 😂😂
White Lily is the best, unless you count the original Atkinson's Mill flour (not the stuff you see today). I always try to use White Lily and the difference is obvious when I have to use something else. Oh, I am soooo glad to see your biscuit recipe. I am not the greatest biscuit maker, but still practicing, lol. You know I think your recipes are so awesome, but it is helpful for me to watch you making your food. Some things are not easy to say in words, but I watch you, then play "monkey see, monkey do". Quite a few times watching you then copying you has improved recipes I already knew how to make. Thanks for all your hard work to put these videos together and post them for us to enjoy. God bless.
White Lily is the best biscuit flour. It’s a very lite fine soft flower. Same flour Cracker Barrel uses. It’s a old Southern Flour until they moved the company. My grocery store stopped carrying it
You like your biscuits just like me, somewhat flat and crunchy, instead of super thick and tall. I've used White Lily flour before for biscuits but I can't always find it in my grocery store. I think making biscuits is more about the technique than the actual ingredients. Once I learned how to cut in the fat, add the liquid and handle the dough, I was consistently making great biscuits. At this point, I've used butter (or margarine), lard, or crisco for the fat and buttermilk, whipping cream, or sour cream for the liquid, and any flour I've got on hand. Sometimes, I've added a little baking powder and salt, but sometimes not. And my biscuits are always pretty good. Thanks for sharing your recipe!
Good Morning Top Chef 👨🍳! I love White Lily flour, have to ask friends to mail it to me,the flour is very silky nice! The biscuits look delicious well made! Oh! Not a gravy maker followed your recipe the gravy was delicious thank you,God bless!
Now I can cook cook but my grandma used to make biscuits they say like as a piece of paper pillow all kind of goodness, but no one ever got the recipe. I did. Thank you for sharing your mom’s recipe cause I know it’s dear to ❤❤your heart.
Those look wonderful....would love to have couple with cream corn over them. We had a grease can on the stove growing up. I still keep all my bacon grease.
Those look So good! I can’t wait to make these along side this video! I love white Lily flour too, but my biscuits always turn out tough! You just taught me why! I work the dough too much and don’t fold it over! Plus, I wiggle the cutter! Thanks Chef Jeffrey! And I’m going to try the tip with the chicken grease, which I do save like Mama always did!!❤😊😊😊
This brings back so many good memories of my grandmother baking biscuits in the morning. Your biscuits look absolutely wonderful. Don't apologize Chef Jeffrey, enjoy the fruit of your labor!!!!
Good morning again, Chef Jeffrey!❤ Mmm, hot fresh buttermilk biscuits right out of the oven! All I need is a cup of coffee. I'll take 2 of those homemade delights please. 😋 Perfect way to start the day! Enjoy yours! Until the next video...
Hello chef Jeff. More and more people are learning about white Lilly flour. It is a top of the line mix. Use it when frying pork chops and see what happens. Another fine video chef. Be blessed
Good morning Chef Jeff. I am enjoying you trying White Lilly flour. Your reactions are priceless. White Lilly is definitely the best. Have a wonderful day😊
❤🤗watching this channel always makes me feel like a child again in my grandma's kitchen😢 Thank you Chef for just being you! You even talk in the same manner as my family. I truly miss my grandparents 🕊🌿🍃
Chef, glad to see white Lily came through. I use it all the time. I started using it & liked it. Haven't look back since. I use the AP & self rising flour & meal. Biscuits looked good. TYFS. Be blessed. #ossfjustshowsomekindness. 😊❤
Morning chef. I just made my first batch of biscuits using the formula L mix you recommended on your previous video which were delicious!! Anything better would be dangerous lol😅. I’m good!
Holy Smokes,,, looking at you pulling that biscuit apart made my mouth water for some good ole biscuits and sausage gravy,,, shame on you Chef Jeffery,, every time I watch your videos I gain 2 pounds and sometimes 3,,,, 😋😋😋 I'm going have to get some wheels put on CurlyQ's recliner and push him around to lose weight,,, 😂😂😂
Jeff....I find the all White Lily biscuits too soft and too like a roll, I use a 50/50 blend of White Lily/HEB house brand, usually in SR to which I add another 1.5 teaspoons of baking powder. I also use half butter/half lard for the fat to cut in. Since I like my biscuits with a golden brown top but a very light bottom I cook my biscuits in my Taotronics Air Fryer bought using your deal in either an 8x8 foil pan or 8x8 silver cake pan 11-12 minutes. Since my boy and I are all that's here the seven biscuits don't last long.
Well, i didn't know if you were going to throw the knife like you did the fork in the pound cake video a few days ago and say "Close the video out!!"😂 The biscuits still looked delicious.
I can't get whole buttermilk anywhere close by here anymore. Just weird! 2 or 1 percent is our only choices. They still turn out great, though. I've always used the self rising while lily for my biscuits. Sometimes butter, sometimes lard, sometimes shortening but always use great value shortening if using shortening. It's the only shortening you can buy now days that still has beef tallow in it. I bake in a cast iron skillet with a little bacon grease on the surface and spread across the tops at 425. Approximately 10 to 12 minutes. Perfect every time!

White Lily is the best
Hello chef Jeff. More and more people are learning about white Lilly flour. It is a top of the line mix. Use it when frying pork chops and see what happens. Another fine video chef. Be blessed

Those biscuits looked delicious. I wish White Lilly flour was available in my area, but cannot find it in Southern California stores.
Hi Jeff, biscuits would be good with fresh honey.
Do u prefer modifying the All Purpose vs using the Self-Rising?
Holy Smokes,,, looking at you pulling that biscuit apart made my mouth water for some good ole biscuits and sausage gravy,,, shame on you Chef Jeffery,, every time I watch your videos I gain 2 pounds and sometimes 3,,,, 😋😋😋
I'm going have to get some wheels put on CurlyQ's recliner and push him around to lose weight,,, 😂😂😂
How come many biscuit recipes use high temperatures for baking. Yours look good are 350"
Jeff....I find the all White Lily biscuits too soft and too like a roll, I use a 50/50 blend of White Lily/HEB house brand, usually in SR to which I add another 1.5 teaspoons of baking powder. Good morning
👍🏽❤
These white Lilly videos probably make the dirty flour lady happy 😂😂.
This morning I looked in the mirror and I was white as a lily. 😊. A southern chef said that she wants the biscuits to kiss (touching each other)
No white lilly in ny
I can't get whole buttermilk anywhere close by here anymore. Just weird! 2 or 1 percent is our only choices. They still turn out great, though.
