This song perfectly translates into why Nightwish really has to perform with a live orchestra and choir one day, that child's choir with Floor would be so epic.

If they release a new record every 5-6 years, my bet is in 2026 Nightwish will finally do that live concert with an orchestra to celebrate their 30th anniversary with all the classic songs and they will release a DVD-double CD. That, or an acoustic/unplugged concert :) Or both.

I can see how you guys get interviews with the musicians, and get them commenting on your videos as well as just reviewing songs. You actually have something interesting to say about everything, unlike most reaction channels, which are just pointless videos of people with little or nothing to say, listening to a song. Keep up the good work!

I do not know if you are into NHL hockey but one night at the Molson Centre was special because Saku Koivu became the scoring leader at that moment this was just before he got ill! And I have a literature recommendation for you according the theme at hand. After "Kalevala" you should reed Mika Waltari's excellent historic fiction "The Egyptian". It was the best selling foreign novel in the US from 1949 to 1980, when Umberto Eco's "the Name of the Rose" surpassed it. Pan (Ancient Greek: Πᾶν) or Faunus (Latin) is a figure from Greek mythology. He is a son of Hermes and the nymph Penelope. Pan is the god of the wilderness and patron of the herdsmen and their cattle and the animal instinct. Pan has the lower body and horns of a goat, but a human upper body. He also has a long narrow face, a large nose and yellow eyes.
The pan flute is named after him. He got it when he was chasing the nymph Syrinx. She wanted to remain a virgin and prayed to the gods, feeling Pan's breath on her neck. Her prayer was answered and she turned into a reed just in time. Then Pan made his flute out of it.
Pan created many mysterious sounds in the woods, which the shepherds and their herds feared, the same for people in remote places. This is the explanation of the word panic. A panic fright is a sudden, general, but unwarranted fright. For that reason it was better to keep him as a friend. The prefix pan- (everything) is also derived from Pan, as he was seen as the personification of nature. Since the Middle Ages, his appearance was adopted to depict the devil.
In the image, Pan is associated with Eros and Aphrodite because of his sensuality. However, as far as is known, Pan never had anything to do with Aphrodite or Eros. He was the son of Hermes and got on well with Dionysos. Apollo was his musical competitor. The story of King Midas, about the competition between Pan and Apollo, is especially well known.
It began with the satyr or satyr Marsyas, who found a flute that Pallas Athena had made and then thrown away, because she thought her cheeks puffed out when she blew on it. Marsyas practiced the flute and at one point challenged Apollo. Apollo accepted the challenge and he won against Marsyas. As punishment, Apollo would flay him alive. Pan could not bear the end of one of his subjects, and he challenged Apollo second. Almost everyone thought Apollo played better again. Pan would suffer the same fate as Marsyas, were it not for the fact that Dionysos and King Midas liked his music better than Apollo's. Apollo became so angry that he gave King Midas donkey ears because of his foolish bad taste. It is not known what the relationship was between Pan and the other gods on Olympus.
In the time of Emperor Tiberius, a boatman named Thamus, sailing near the island of Paxi, heard a voice out of nowhere telling him that the great god Pan was dead. Thamus had to tell this to the people of Palodes, now Butrint in Albania. When he came near Palodes, he cried to the shore: "The great god Pan is dead!" Lamentations rang out from many throats from the shore, and the horrified sailors spread the story all over the ancient world. Plutarch wrote it down a century later in his book De Defectu Oraculorum, about the silence of the oracles. Pan is the only god mentioned to have died. He perished in the battle between the Titans and the gods of Olympus. The ancient nature god Faunus from Roman mythology was later equated with Pan.

One of my favorite tracks on this album. Such an incredible track, and SO Nightwish through-and-through. I cannot wait to catch this one in concert. I feel like it's really going to shine on stage, and is a fantastic song for audience and band interaction. I also think the song is an ode to Pan's Labyrinth, and Pan from Ancient Greek mythology. But it could also be related to Pan from Peter Pan. I feel like the lyrics could have multiple connections.

Just thought to mention also that most sings will have different arrangements for when they play live.
Their studio albums are compositional masterpieces. Their studio songs do not necessarily have (or at least not all of them) that much metal feeling or the incredible power and energy you witness with all your being (not just your ears) when they play them live. And that's a plus from my point of view, because they experiment and play with all the songs to their variable limits, phases and rhythms. And that is just geniallity on itself and their amazing talents

Hey A&P, I feel like I should steer your attention towards 'Words of Farewell - Whispering Deeps'.
    It's a worthy addition to your to-listen&react-list, I'd say.
...just a heads-up. (Chose that one from their EP, since it also comes with a video. You probably prefer to have that alongside with the music)
Personally I'd say, that they consistently come up with good stuff (they have 3 full albums so far)
and that one is from their latest EP.
As for your video, quality-stuff as per usual.
I wonder, if 12:51 - 13:07 was one of those "That's my boy!" -moments for Pedro. : -)
In any case, this Nightwish-album is on the shopping-list aswell alongside with many other albums by other quality-bands out there.

Would be good to see you react to Liliac , they do some excellent Dio covers( vocals are amazing , closest to Dio himself I have heard !) , an excellent Janis Joplin (Another Piece of my Heart) cover and their own stuff. They are a band of brothers and sisters from age 11 to 19 years old . Think they are from the L.A . area and have supported Queensryche recently and have also been touring the U.S.
They are all superbly talented and have an amazing vocalist in Melody Cristea and there are various videos of them on youtube and on their own channel. From what I understand, their videos are home produced with the help of their father - some in their living room of their apartment. Wish I lived next door :).
    Their youtube channel :
    th-cam.com/channels/3zHga4guDC9lh9LA5GcV5A.html
I have no links to the band ( I live in the UK) but having seen/heard their performances feel that a review or two from yourselves would help them no end ( providing you approve of course ). With support, bands like this are the future of our music preference hopefully. There are a few reaction vids around also and all approvals so far :).
    Seems the late Mr Dio's wife approves also ;
In a recent interview with Australia's Subculture Entertainment, Wendy Dio, the wife and longtime manager of legendary vocalist Ronnie James Dio (BLACK SABBATH, DIO, RAINBOW), discussed the licensing opportunities she pursues for her late husband's work. Since his 2010 passing, Wendy has kept Ronnie in the public eye largely through the much-debated Dio hologram tour. More recently, Wendy, in cooperation with BMG, released a series of vinyl reissues spanning Ronnie's solo career.
"Ronnie's passing will be ten years this year and we have two and a half million [fans] on Facebook," she said (hear audio below). "The movie 'Thor 4' [Editor's note: referring to the upcoming 'Thor: Love And Thunder'], they're using 'Rainbow In The Dark' in that movie. There's a TV show here called 'Stranger Things' and they just asked me permission to use the t-shirt for the next series. I found a young family called LILAC, and they do a fantastic rendition of 'Rainbow In The Dark'. I don't know if you've heard it. It's great. We're going to have them at 'Ride For Ronnie' [motorcycle ride and concert] performing. I think it's great. Young kids, this is the first time ever that kids are listening to their parents' music."
    Apologies for the long post.
    Thanks for reading.

4 songs to go? You should do the track that didn't fit on the first cd of the album; "All The Works Of Nature ..."

Tuomas never made it a secret that he is a big fan of Hans Zimmer.

i think they need to make album for floor voice to unlock her potential..so far last 2 albums are so boring ..at least for me

I really prefer the older songs, and it's not a "Tarja vs. Floor" thing. I just like the older songs so much more. The last albums are way too Disney-ish

Well every taste is worth to be. I understand that some people have problems with the cinematographic direction of the band, but for me, that's exactly what I expect from them. I love this new Nightwish (well henceforth not so "new")

Probably half empty because you wanna consume the rest?

I've been a fan of Nightwish since 2000, but honestly this album is the weakest/hollow one. It doesn't have that peculiarity of Imaginaerum or the strength of Once. Nevertheless, it's Nightwish and I will always support them, but it had to be said. Good review btw \m/
