RED Devil limited OC with custom plates, one i picked up for 1099$, looks quite nice. Still little disappointed with AMD. 55-60w in Idle (4090 idles at 30W ) , 20-30 % gpu usage while watching TH-cam video, performs way behind 4090 while pulling same 435 watts in OC bios mode.

The 1% lows getting worse when overclocking could be due to the undervolting. Your fps could be better but 1% lows worse due to it not being a 100% stable undervolt. Couldve been something else but probably worth a try to increase voltage a little bit and see if it changed anything

I see that Sapphire are making the three power fuses a selling point. Suggesting that when they fail we can desolder them, find new fuses that match and solder them into place. Or at least someone with the skills and access to the parts can. Which makes me wonder how common it is for video cards to fail and be repaired. In turn are these repairs carried out by a bevvy of board fiddlers with steady hands or do the manufacturers do this under warranty?

For a $999 price tag the 7900XTX OC is on par with the 4090 $1600 dollar card in most performance deltas but it's still TO EXPENSIVE! The nice thing is i have seen people OC their cards and lower the power draw to around 290w and they are still getting huge uplifts in performance and huge drops in temp.

As my RX7900 XTX Red Devil Limited is experiencing hot spot temperature issues lately (105° Celsius) and I have had it RMA'ed before - would you consider the Sapphire RX7900 XTX Nitro+ a worthy replacement?
Best AMD Cards: Sapphire (Nitro) & Powercooler (Red devil) Best Nvidia Cards: Asus (ROG Strix) & EVGA (Ultra) "but they don't make EVGA no more" But since they're the best.. they're the most expensive since people always looking for them above MSRP
My Pulse 7900 XTX does 2905 clock speed lol. Though in a way, my GPU cost $50 more than the Nitro+ being sold out on newegg. And I can undervolt it as low as 1035mV long term, though with constant stress test I need about 1050mV if I wanna push for 2900+ Mhz. For some reason, sapphire set it to 1150mV stock, which idles at a modestly hot temp.
This thing is so huge it barely fit in with my noctua DH15 fan. Two millimeter clearance, I almost had to buy a new case that could support a vertical GPU and riser kit. With a 1k dollar GPU, I'd absolutely eat the 150 on the prior case for a better one. Literally built my PC around this component!
They are still very expensive but so much better value than 4090. in sweden xtx is 1500$ and 4090 2500-2800$. having a hard time between this one and the aorus 7900xtx virtually impossible to see a tear down of the aorus that's what I want to see on that card
If I didn't already pick up the reference 7900 XTX and that this being $200 more, I would pick the sapphire nitro without hesitation (if it's just ~$100 more). It's one of the best looking cards this gen and also keeping the length short (320mm) !
what clock speed did you use for game benchmarks? for some reason AMD Adrenaline base clock it at 2950Mhz..i have to downclock it at 2400Mhz to get bearable coil whine noise... also hot spot temp sometimes go over 85celsius at higher clock speeds than 2400Mhz
I don't have many resources and that's why I hesitate more in my purchases, but would you say that it is a good purchase for €950, without knowing what is coming in the future in terms of prices or new models?
I got the reference card, but my card was already set to 2750mhz memory clock and 3ghz core clock speed boost. When i OC i can lower the volt with 50mv and increase to core speed to 3.4ghz and 2.8ghz memory with a hotspot of 85c°(furmark) awsome card for OC sadly the fans are loud as hell 😅
setting max GPU clock at 3025 I get an effective clock of around 2980mhz, setting the VRAM at 2725mhz I get a speed of 2686 (setting it higher causes artifacts) and have a good undervolt at 1075mV. Now if I set the VRAM to 2500, I can get the GPU up to 3140mhz bur it actually cost me performance. so I think 2686 (VRAM) is perfect.
Hello guys, I just both one of this, exactly this Sapphire one, so the problem is that in games the FPS cant stay constant, In Remnant from the ashes I have 200-250fps and then it drops to 40-50.. I did not manage to get a stable FPS with AMD Adrenaline software... I am thinking to return it and take a more efficient 4070Ti ...
These are currently easily available here in Australia. Sapphire is easily my favourite brand for AMD cards. Had a few over the years and currently have a 6800 XT Nitro+ in my system. I love the design of this card... BUT... I'm just hesitant to get this one because those RGB strips are not only HORRENDOUS and way too thick, but it also looks like they're partially blocking airflow. Yes, I know I can just turn off RGB and that this is probably the best air cooled 7900 XTX, but those RGB strips are easily double the thickness I think they should be. @eTeknix You did a teardown. I would love to know if it's easy to remove the RGB strips?

This thing is so huge it barely fit in with my noctua DH15 fan. Two millimeter clearance, I almost had to buy a new case that could support a vertical GPU and riser kit. With a 1k dollar GPU, I'd absolutely eat the 150 on the prior case for a better one. Literally built my PC around this component!
AMD should really just purchase Sapphire and let them build the cards for them.
Goated company
How bad is the coil whine?
Can you turn of the RGB on the card? I wanted the Saphire 79000 XTX Pulse because it does'nt have RGB lights. But my microcenter is out of the Pulse.
They are still very expensive but so much better value than 4090. in sweden xtx is 1500$ and 4090 2500-2800$. having a hard time between this one and the aorus 7900xtx virtually impossible to see a tear down of the aorus that's what I want to see on that card
What are the noise and power consumption compared to the XFX?
If I didn't already pick up the reference 7900 XTX and that this being $200 more, I would pick the sapphire nitro without hesitation (if it's just ~$100 more). It's one of the best looking cards this gen and also keeping the length short (320mm) !
If yours is also affected by the hot spot problem you can send it back and get your money back from what I've heard.
@@alexandruilea915 Mine seems to run fine without the hotspot issue haha
@@jjjsong0 then you can consider yourself lucky and unlucky at the same time lol
@@jjjsong0 what are your regular temps and junc temp usually sitting at?
@Ghost But not in the Shell ~10 min of time spy extreme (4k) - gpu temp around 64 to 67, Hotspot around 78 to 80 (both vertical and horizontal)
The pulse already is 1450 euro in NL. I dont even wanna know how much the nitro is gonna be when it comes out.
what clock speed did you use for game benchmarks?
for some reason AMD Adrenaline base clock it at 2950Mhz..i have to downclock it at 2400Mhz to get bearable coil whine noise...
also hot spot temp sometimes go over 85celsius at higher clock speeds than 2400Mhz
I don't have many resources and that's why I hesitate more in my purchases, but would you say that it is a good purchase for €950, without knowing what is coming in the future in terms of prices or new models?
I've ordered one of these from Scan following this review - thanks (& for inc. the MSRP); they said eta
any review on the Pulse model??
Silicon lottery for vram is quite high 2700 - 2800 mhz. I wonder how much my model will achieve when I finally get it ;)
This card has finally hit sub £1000 in the U.K. at one retailer
I got mine for $900 new. It makes more sense to take it over a 4080.
Power draw: some people report 450W for the nitro+ while hellhound has 360-370
I got one a month ago, works great and quiet. But I only set the GPU to go only up to 2800 MHZ.
does the 7900xt nitro+ have the same cooler or am i wrong? Will you review it in the future?
No, it doesn’t. According to a Sapphire rep the design is similar but not the same.
setting max GPU clock at 3025 I get an effective clock of around 2980mhz, setting the VRAM at 2725mhz I get a speed of 2686 (setting it higher causes artifacts) and have a good undervolt at 1075mV. Now if I set the VRAM to 2500, I can get the GPU up to 3140mhz bur it actually cost me performance. so I think 2686 (VRAM) is perfect.
I have this card and I have similar temperatures except for the Memory Junction, mine easily goes up to 100-105C, is this something concerning?
I would be concerned if it were me, that's pretty high
How does it compare with the Red Devil 7900 XTX?
Should I get the 7900 xtx Hellbound for 1025€ or the Nitro for 1243€?

@@SkeIeton thank you 😁
In stock right now on newegg for $1199
Thanks for this vide i wish i had this card
Hello guys, I just both one of this, exactly this Sapphire one, so the problem is that in games the FPS cant stay constant, In Remnant from the ashes I have 200-250fps and then it drops to 40-50.. I did not manage to get a stable FPS with AMD Adrenaline software... I am thinking to return it and take a more efficient 4070Ti ...
I was planning on buying this exact card from Overclockers UK but then they sold out...maybe you bought the last one ;0;
Very nice video not the model I am personally looking at buying, but I am limited to 2 8 pins I am looking at that gigabyte 7900 XTX OC does anyone have any thoughts on this model?
Since I got tired of NVIDIA bs, I sold my RTX 4070 Ti and I'm getting this beautiful baby soon.
Can you please test this card with the overclock on ark survival ascended in ultra settings?
Can you do the sapphire pulse 7900 xtx too?
Will look into it sure.
@@eTeknix cool, it doesn't look like there are any reviews for it atm.
