- Yesterday, it was announced that parts of Balmoral Castle will open to the public for the very first time. Adult tickets cost £100, and if you fancy a cream tea with your visit, that will set you back another £50. Many are commenting that Queen Elizabeth II would be turning in her grave at the idea of people roaming around her favourite home. So, would our panel be interested in a scone on Scotland’s royal grounds? And is it disrespectful to our late Queen? Kelly shares her stories of roaming around Buckingham Palace, plus Denise reminisces on where she had a very unlikely cigarette!

Denise is always speaking truth to power.
The only thing thats disrespectful is charging the public £150 for a cuppa tea and a tour of the place that we all basically own!
I wonder who will be in charge of the kindergarten?
It's a privately owned property; purchased by Qn Victoria.
@@SimonSmith-yd6tt not only does that not make sense, the use of American terminology makes it irrelelevent
@@jamiecurry debatable
No, neither you or anyone else, don't 'basically own' Balmoral. Balmoral is a privately owned estate. Privately owned by the sovereign King Charles, who inherited it from his mother, the late Queen Elizabeth. Balmoral has been privately owned by the Royal Family since the time of Queen Victoria
Denise said exactly what i was thinking. The lady is gone. Let the living make the decisions. 🤷🏾♀️
When you love something, like in this case a residence, you want to share it with everyone.
It's not disrespectful . These places are astronomical to keep up , no reason why they can't make some money to help with the overall up keep of the place , with that said I think they are charging way too much for the average person to go visit . They would be better off charging less so more people could afford to go .
And yet it has already sold out ...
Then they can pay for the up keep of my home and all the publics too.. No i say they've had enough money.
If people are willing to pay for an admission fee then it is their choice to do so. Someone people see Taylor Swift concerts, others tour National Trust buildings…there is no harm in any of it.
Love Kelly, she looks as amazing as she is - will never forget her winning her two olympic golds - she got there through years of hard grit and determination.
I would love to go and see
If you ever get the chance to go , go , It is wonderful we went many years ago . only went into the ballroom an around the grounds . them nip to Lochnagar Distillery next door for a meal and a drink
It definitely isn't disrespectful to open Balmoral to public viewing. Thete is so much interest in the royal residences. I'd love to one day visit it
ITV need to get a life wish they would stop bothering the royal family like this it’s very disrespectful
The royals are only good for entertainment, bother them more.
No because they are narcissists
Since it is privately owned and meant so much to the Queen, I say it is a bit too soon to open it up.
I wish Coleen would stop going on about how"the Royal Family bring in tourists". The UK Tourist board has refuted that god knows how many times.
They actually reduce tourism during royal events as other attractions shut their doors.
😂😂😂😂
She’s waiting on her OBE - for services grovelling to Royals.
Tea for two at the Ritz is $200-plus.
If Buckingham Palace can be partly open in the summer, no reason why Balmoral can’t be open to the public. Also, it costs a lot of money for a ticket, so it’s not like there will be loads of crowds to disrupt the building!
I think it's because Buckingham palace is owned by the British public as part of the Crown Estate where Balmoral is privately owned and was built by Queen Victoria. In summary, Buckingham palace is a PUBLIC Building, Balmoral is a PRIVATE property.
Sandringham House is opened to the public and very interesting
He doesnt like Balmoral thats why he's opened it to the public also as The Queen passed away there he knows people will pay the silly price. Its his prerogative now so tbh the decision is made.
It’s a great idea, the money earned will help with the upkeep of the castle 😊
Osbourne House on the Isle of White was home to Queen Victoria and it has been open to the public for years............
Osbourne is not lived in though. It was gifted to the nation as a museum to a bygone age as it was superfluous to the current Royal Family. Balmoral is a private sanctuary & in my opinion the King has a duty to upkeep that tradition. No need to let the light in.
Osbourne House was gifted to the nation by Edward V11 in 1902. He and his siblings hated the place because of its associations with their childhood.
Kent, yes!!! Hever etc...
When William becomes King, it’ll probably be £10 tickets and open all year round like Osborne House.
The know it all's🙄 The morality police as per running down the Royal family🤷🥴
I agree, Balmoral is a private home, it is not paid by tax payers so it will maintain its keep for future generations.
Did the Queen and Phillip ever visit Kamloops?.........
It's disgraceful
Doesn't it belong to the taxpayers?
So, it’s now ok to profit off of being royal? Just an observation.
Where will the revenue go? Is this the Royal Family trying to make more money?
The entry fee is outrageous, but otherwise all the palaces (apart from Sandringham) belong to the UK taxpayers so they should have (reasonably priced) access to them.
Charles and co. can use the money to pay for maintenance of the places
Balmoral is a private property too
@@nl887 Oops, my mistake.
Balmoral is a private residence not owned by the Public.
Balmoral was the Queens only private home bought by the Queen Victoria.
Who cares if it is disrespectful? The money that it generates wont come back to the public anyway it will just go to the king's money coffers for him to spend on a skiing holiday or his pet farming projects so it's a lose lose to us.
Nonsense! Do you have any idea of how much it costs to maintain a building of that size? Would you prefer Elon Musk or a Saudi billionaire own it?
@@LiftUpNotDown To be honest at a time of austerity and cost of living crisis I wouldn't want any billionaire living in it (the king or whoever else.) Nobody needs lots of homes with large expenses to be paid. Even if he did sell off Balmoral to whomever it wouldn't make any money for the Treasury as it is private property so it does not matter.
The only people who would benefit I guess is the maintenance workers who get paid to care for it.
Why should it!!! It's not part of the crown estate, it's a private home!!!
Whilst Balmoral is privately owned the King has a responsibility to protect the mystique of the monarchy. Yes let us in to publicly owned palaces but not private lived in homes.
As if the Windsors have any mystique left 😂
Aren't the taxpayers paying for the upkeep?
@@cag19549 No. The upkeep of Balmoral & Sandringham is entirely met by the sovereign
No it's not disrespectful, the public paid for it. It should be free entry.
Privately owned by the RF.
@@jamiecurry the royal family get paid by tax payers. So they bought it with money that the public gave them.
It’s a privately owned royal residence
@@jamiecurryBalmoral is privately owned, Buckingham palace is public property held in trust by the sovereign so long as they are sovereign.
Balmoral and our castles should be open permanently- with the Royals not in situ and long gone. Time for them to leave Scotland. And stop using our place-names as titles they bestow on themselves. Bye!
I Totally agree !!
Our place name Forfar did they even know where it was ? Before the were given the title ?
Has vile Denise apologised for spreading rumours about William having an affair?
She's gone who cares! Get a grip. If you want to be robbed go for it but I'm not spending my hard earned money.
Denise walsh 😮and Colleen Nolan again and again. Change the recipe please 😅😅😅😅😅😅
I cannot stand Denise. Full of herself.
The 4 brain cells they have on that show arent exactly the greatest debaters of ethics.
Well, you're here watching, so i guess your remaining half cell might benefit from their input. 😏
@@moimeself1088 no.
Let the opulence, privilege and greed of the royal family be on full display.
Who care 😂
Denise could have said the queen has died not use the words shes dead. How disrespectful with her bluntness.
Is she not dead? 🤔
Don't talk nonsense! It's not like any of the Royal Family will be watching
@@DistantCousin not talking about the royal family watching.just the fact its disrespectful to use those blunt words to describe anyones death.just ignorant.
@@moimeself1088 of course but there are more respectful ways of putting it.
All these buildings are built from exploitation and salary. Yay.
😢
Proof?
Charles will do anything for money.
